SL400 - low resolution with HDMI to the TV connection

I'm trying to connect my laptop to my Toshiba HD ready TV (2743abg - exact model) SL400.

I use a HDMI HDMI connection.

I get very low resolution unbareable - 768 x 480.

I looked at the Intel Driver software installed and it is the maximum resolution, it allows!

something is obviously wrong.

any ideas on how to solve this problem?

I found a solution and thought I'd share, if someone will have a similar problem.

in the display properties, settings, advanced, monitor - uncheck "hide them modes that this monitor cannot display". has given a whole bunch of new resolutions to choose from. most worked wonders on my TV.

  • Setting the resolution with HDMI

I'm trying to connect my laptop Sony Vaio (VPCEE2M1E with AMD/ATI Radeon) to my couple of years Toshiba TV.  The Toshiba is the brand "HD READY", but when I hook them together the default resolution is 720 not 1080.

I went to control PANEL / DISPLAY / SETTINGS HDMI to try to reset manually but 768 and 1080 selection buttons are both in gray.  Also, I can not select the 'Adjust Resolution (Disable)' tab to see what's there.

The HDMI cable is a cable of high quality IXOS, so that should not present any problems.

    Any thoughts?  Very much appreciated.

What is the model of your Toshiba TV? 720 p is one of the HD, just not one of the highest resolutions and lots of 720 p always sell TVs HD. Many of those who are capable of 1080i (interelaced) resolution, you must check the specifications of TV to find out. 1080i is not as high resolution 1080 p, but he could make videos to look a little better than 720 p.

The other consideration is that you may need to add the resolutions undetected in your resolution settings using Catalyst Control Center Radeon card. If you only use the video card drivers MS (ie. not provided on the video card driver disk or downloaded from ATI) then the additional resolution settings may not be available.

  • Second screen with HDMI audio source after connection or wake

It is a very minor issue, but one I still dealing with.

I have a BenQ RL2455M monitor connected to my MacBook Pro w / retina with HDMI. I plug headphones to listen to music and talk on Skype on the plug headphones of the MBP. It all works perfectly.

The question arises when first connecting my laptop to the monitor (plugged the HDMI cable) or when waking up the laptop from sleep. If my helmet was left plugged in the headphone during this process, so I have no sound. Sound is sent through the HDMI. I have to unplug and plug in the headset to steal her back.

Of course, El Capitan is the choice the newest device to use for output. It makes sense, when you first connect the HDMI, but less after sleep.

In addition, this occurs when only my screen is in sleep mode and not my "computer". I changed this setting to 3 hours, because I had some programs that are not keep the laptop awake.

    Please visit Apple support communities.

I understand that you have an audio problem with your MacBook Pro.  Let's start with a memory NVRAM reset and then do a test to see if the behavior persists.

  • Pavilion: Broken screen... Can I make Windows recovery with hdmi to the tv?

So I don't see anything on the screen, but I use it on my TV via hdmi. But there are a lot of questions and I would like to make the recovery of Windows, but I'm afraid it might end up being some prompts that happen outside Windows loading and the feed will not appear on tv, and then I'll be screwed in perpetuity.

Is this possible or am I beat without a screen to work?

TV output does not during a recovery - have seen this problem several times and posters asking that the keys to the shot, etc. because they don't see all the screens. Bottom line - you need a screen to work on the laptop to run recovery.

  • DV7T-4100 no noise at all - w / Built in speakers, headphones or using the HDMI to the TV connection

Hello and thank you in advance for any help provide you.

    DV7T-4100 w/processor i5 M460

    Product ID: WW189AV

Home Premium to Windows 7 (64-bit)

My laptop has no sound at all - built in speakers, headphones, even when not connected to my TV via the HDMI port (which is a separate conductor).

2 weeks ago, all the sounds worked. I look at the (and listen to) the videos to youtube using my headphones. I stopped a video and used my laptop until the next day. There isn't any installs or updates applied I know. The next day, I closed Youtube and play words with friends and there was no noise. I restarted the laptop and still no sound.

I have read and worked through many processes and patches found on this and other forums, but did not get his job. Also I tried to restore my laptop fails for before this issie but my restore points (corrupted).

Drivers: The two drivers are present and state that they do not work correctly - this is the current version

ATI high definition Audio Device Date 06/05/2010 Ver 7.11.0.7706

IDT High Definition Audio Codec Date 17/06/2010 Ver 6.10.6289.0

I uninstalled (checked delete the driver for this device) and reinstalled several times.

I uninstalled, shutdown, removed power and battery, which is held from the Start button / stop for 30 seconds and then the and let it reinstall the drivers (they installed automatically when starting, I was not able to run the sp50642.exe I downloaded).

I also used the HP recovery tool and reinstalled the drivers to factory default

I run Microsofts problem finder and reports everything works.

I checked there is no settings enabled or disabled. When I test the speakers 'Sound and headphones' properties, I get "could not play the test tone".

FYI - I did not update the BIOS but I checked and mine is the updated F.29 version but the date is more than 14 days, then the download version of the SP55299.

I appreciate any assistance troubleshooting, you may need to provide. Please let me know any other info I can provide. Thank you

    Hi JSHEP500,

I suggest that you perform a backup and restore to an earlier date when the sound worked. Here is a document for using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7) which explains how to go back to a previous restore point.

If this does not resolve your problem, you will need to recover Windows 7 operating system using Microsoft Windows Backup and Restore.

I hope that this helps, please let me know how it goes.

Thank you and have a great day!

  • Satellite A60 crashes with BSOD using the WLan connection

    Hello

The son laptop works well 24/7 If you use the local cable network on web access, but as soon as we install Wifi it crashes on a regular basis (2 or 3 times an hour) with BSOD error messages - normally those helps Microsoft cant (via the event viewer report) with but it is often talking about Toshiba phone services but no solution.

Tried two (netgear) pcmcia & usb (agere) wifi cards - exactly same problem can not maps.

In desperation re-formatted & resettled Xp & all drivers Toshiba of original Cd of Tosh, then Xp Sp2 & then all the updates/fixes engineering including the bios from site Web of Tosh. Still crashes.

If the software has - v installed or not makes no difference.

A 512 extra ram on top of 256 original.

    Any ideas?

Please believe me that it is not easy to say why the BSOD appears!
From my personal experience, that the BSOD can occurs because of the problem of critical software, or because of the problem of equipment.

In your case, it looks like a hardware problem (this is my personal opinion)
Generally, the laptop should work with the external WLan USB card. I put t see no reason why it shouldn't work t.

You said that you have updated the RAM on this laptop, I noticed on many laptops than similar issues after a RAM upgrade.

For example; I inserted the new 1 GB RAM on my old Satellite and received a BSOD. I used a compatible but the BSOD appeared sometimes.
After the passage of the modules to another location memory my laptop works properly!

Please check this box. Maybe you could check if the same thing happens with your old module!

    Good luck

  • The proxy editing low resolution, then apply changes to high resolution

    Hello

I'm developing a continuous image of a great wall that will be seen about 1-2 feet of viewing distance. There are about 100 dpi.

My image is currently 21 600 x 8100 pixels in 8-bit CMYK. It can grow. I don't do a lot of manipulation, but a lot of it is with the help of brushes and the smudge tool.

    2 questions:

    (1) I have a Mac Pro 12-core with 24 GB of RAM. The smudge tool is slooowly when working on this image (like a finger to the max brush size takes 15-20 seconds to enter into force).

    (2) is it a "string mesh" tool that I can use instead of the finger tool?

Is it possible for me to edit a version low resolution of this image, then apply the changes that I made to the version high resolution? then I can use the tools anti-dirt and brush, and the finesse my work without the machine bogged down and Imaging will look correct. I'm looking for a way to use these tools in real time while working with this large image.

This seems to be the solution (at least it is for me). I can apply my changes to the proxy low resolution by registering the mesh and then apply this same mesh to image high resolution. The brush sizes large (compared to the resolution of the image) that I am available in version low resolution are presented through the high resolution because the changes are not applied as strokes of brush, but as changes in the global network. changes made to the mesh are what is transferred when you export and import.

Applying the mesh is pretty slow and it requires a bit of tinkering at the level high resolution, but makes me 95% of the way. I think that is achievable.

To sum up - here are the steps:

    (1) I make a version low resolution of the image (like 1200px wide)

    (2) I make my changes to the image using fluidity

    (3) before committing the changes in fluidity, I have 'Save Mesh' in the Liquify tool

    (4) I opened my image in high resolution

    (5) I use liquify, but I do not use brushes, but rather load my saved the low-resolution mesh

    (6) profit.

Thanks for the help of the people!

  • HP PAVILION SLIMLINE S3370.UK: update ATI 2400HD to one with HDMI graphics card

Looking for some advice - I have this HP PAVILLION S3370 with this 2400HD ATI graphics card machine

The reason why I'm looking to upgrade the card is simply for HDMI support. I have bought converters and VGA splitters but had problems with resolutions where I'd get a display on a screen and a message put on the other, so I thought that I should just upgrade the card to one that has two vga and a HDMI output in this way I can project to the second screen and with a card with the sopport software update I should be able to adapt to the screen with scaling options - as I can on my other machine - and yet always use the computer screen when I want to sit at my desk.

The problem I have is the technical terms of the cards. I uderstand that due to having a HP Slimline I need a low profile & PCI Express x 16 card but newer cards make no mention of DDR2 SDRAM - and instead, I know GDDR3 - I'm asuming it is just the memory of the card use - type, but that would be coimpatable with the installation of my machine?

For example this map would be a suitable replacement? EVGA NVIDIA GT 610 Graphics Card - 1 GB If Yes can you contact why. If this is not suitable could make you alternative suggestions - thank you.

I apologize for the niavity of this issue - but it's been years since I have been embarrassed to have to upgrade graphics cards and I forgot the more I find myself with. I am based in the United Kingdom and the machine itself is running Windows 10 - the current graphics card manages the Sturmovik game Sim plane no problem and while I want to really just support HDMI for streaming movies I don't want to lose my support in game.

Thanks for reading and checking links - we appreciate it.

    Hello:

I think you should be able to squeak by with this card and derisory of your PC power supply 160W.

The AMD Radeon attracts a maximum of about 20 Watts and the GT610 around 29 Watts.  IMO, 9 Watts is not that big of a difference to blow your PC power.

I see that it comes with low profile brackets, so there is no problem with this arrangement, etc.

You're right about the memory.  That concern me too much back in the day, that the memory graphics specification did not spec PC's memory.  Graphics memory is independent of the PC's memory, and there is no conflict.

The only thing I don't know... but easy enough to fix.

The PC being produced in 2007 may have a BIOS that does not include how video cards with HDMI ports work regarding audio.

On these old PC several times when you install a video card with HDMI output, the PC think that not only you have installed a video card, but that you have also installed a sound card (because of the HD audio chip on the video card).

Thus, the BIOS only disables the video edge, it also disables the audio system too.

So, after installing the video card and drivers, if your integrated sound card is missing, restart the PC, go into the BIOS, look for the audio setting on Board (it cannot exist without first adding the video card, so there may be no use in looking for it now).  You can watch now of course, but do not be alarmed if it does not exist.

Audio setting will be set to auto or off.

Change the active setting. Save the setting here where you made the change, and again when you exit the BIOS.

After reboot and return to Windows, integrated audio system needs to be restored and the HDMI audio works if HDMI cable connection is detected.

Another reminder... before install you your new video card, make sure that you uninstall the current drivers.

To do this, go to Device Manager, click to expand the category of device display cards, do a right-click on the map of chart amd radeon HD 2400 that there are listed, select uninstall, select uninstall driver.

Do not restart the PC you are prompted.

Go to the menu programs in the Control Panel, then uninstall all current AMD Catalyst software.

Once this is done, stop, disconnect the PC and remove and replace the video card in your PC.

  • computer returns to a lower resolution when I boot

Hi, I recently installed the graphics card Nvidia Geforce GT 610 in my HP computer and since then I had problems with the resolution of the screen. My computer has never had problems with a resolution before installing the graphics card. Whenever I start my computer, it comes down to a lower resolution and it corrects the resolution after that I restarted the computer. I have re-installed the graphics card driver, checked my BIOS and tried to look online for a solution.

My computer also now issues once I start it only happened once I installed the graphics card. Also, when I go to look at screen resolution settings in the Control Panel, the display of the "(Default Monitor) lists on" in the initial commissioning, the changes in the "HP 2009", which I assume is the correct setting after reboot. " I have no idea how to fix this and I don't know if this affects the functionality of my computer, but if anyone has any suggestions I would be very happy.

    * Edit: I did some digging around and I noticed that on initial start-up, my monitor is not detected by my computer. When the computer reboots, so, my screen in my devices and printers. I don't know if this is the problem, but no one knows why this happens and how I can fix this problem? Thank you.

Honestly, I have no idea what the problem is at this point. There is no indication that the graphics card is causing the problem, and the computer works normally too. NVIDIA customer support did not help at all either. Their suggestions actually caused my computer to freeze, but it was fixed with the Startup Repair tool. As I said but it's a cheap card, so when I can afford it, I'm probably going to upgrade to a new computer and card. Thanks for your help!
