Installation Directory of OBIEE in linux
Hi allI try to install OBIEE on Linux, server, by default the installtion directory will be
/ usr/local/OracleBI
/ usr/local/OracleBIData
Is mandatory to install OBIEE under these directories or can I just install in any other directories as any mount point (/ mnt/OracleBI) or under home directory (/ home/Vinay/OracleBI)?
Thank you
Vinay
If I remember it correctly, you're going to specify the location such as/usr/local.
Thus, you can go for any place other than what Oracle has suggested.

Installation directory is not correctly structured - Netbeans
I installed Netbeans 7.3.1 and installed Oracle WLS 12.1.2. I used the WLS GUI to create a domain, using the default values as my choice. Now, when I go to Netbeans to add the WSL server, I get the message "the specified installation directory is not properly structured." I am new to WSL, but from what I can tell, the directory structure looks like at it's good.
I missed a step, or just what? Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
I just had this problem.
The problem was that netbeans could not access the weblogic installation directory tree. Maybe that you install root or administrator for netbeans can not read the directory structure.
The error provided by netbeans is enough wave and confussing - as usual. just a "chown-r user: *" in your weblogic installation directory should do the trick (under linux).

Labview that is running on a computer without write access to the installation directory?
Hello
A client of ours wondered if we can run our Labview executable and runtime on their computer without having no write access to the installation directory?
It is quite easy to change so that our program writes its log files to another drive on the network, but what the runtime engine and updates Live trying to download programs OR?
Grateful for any comments.
As far as I know the terms of access rights for the updates are the same for the basic facilities.
However, given that your program is running on a factory floor, I recommend disabling updates. I don't think you want to come down because a computer does not have an assembly line update.

I use an .ini file to allow users to change the preferneces for starting the program. In the past, this file has lived in the installation directory and OpenFile could find the file cheerfully and apply preferences. In CVI 2013, the program seems to need an implicit path to the file. Is there a way to get around this?
I use not yet CVI2013, but in any case, you can build up to a full path of a file in the folder of the application using the GetProjectDir and MakePathname commands when running.

Download Command and Conquer Generals of U-torrent. All downloaded ok but you can not run the game from the icon of the game, he said: "you must run the game from the installation directory.
What is the install directory, where can I find and that I click on / type it please?
Thanks in advance.
Hi CivvySi,
(a) what operating system do you use?(b) you get an error with the message code?Right-click on the game and run as administrator, and check if it works.
By default, Windows installs all programs in the C:\Program Files directory. In addition, if you install a program like the game you mentioned, he goes to the directory C:\Program Files by default.Find the game that will be installed by default in the C:\Program Files location, unless the destination is changed during the installation of the game.

My computer Guard stops. When it restarts, it displays a message 'invalid or missing files in the installation directory. Please reinstall Extender Player". How can I fix it?
Hello1. have you done any change in software on the computer lately?
2. are you able to boot in safe mode?
3. do you have the Extender player installed on your computer? If so have you tried to re - install?
Method 1.
If you are able to boot to the desktop then disable automatic reboot. My computer properties > Advanced tab > startup and recovery settings > uncheck automatically restart.Method 2.

Original title: load error when you try to load Halo 2
People at Microsoft, I have a problem trying to load Halo 2 on my dv7 Paviliaon with Vista and the 2.8 GB Intel Centrino 2 processor. When I try and load the game, I get and error stating: "the files are missing or damaged in the installation directory. A few important files required to run this game are missing from the installation directory. "It bothered me for several reasons. One: the disc that I use is an original disc out of the box so hsould have no problem. Two: the game has been loaded previously on the same computer without apparent problem at the time. It has been deleted (don't remember why) and when I tried to reinstall, the error came. Three: I did as recommended and updated all programs and drivers, nothing works. So my question is, how do I reinstall Halo 2 and what this problem will arise if I decide to buy and load Halo 3?
Thank you for your time in advance.

How tio changes the programs installation directory, I want to install?
How tio changes the programs installation directory, I want to install? I'm trying to install a lot of programs is always installed in "Local disk C" that low memory space. Please tell me how can I install the programs in other folders such as "Local disk D and E and F. And also please tell me that the directory in which the widows is installed when reached about his memory limit, does windows performance issues.
Win needs 15% free space for proper operation.
Using various hacks registry posted on various sites to redirect the default program installation folder to another drive is not supported by MS and can cause problems.
Most of the programs when you install them have the option for a custom install, where you can specify where / which drive to install, but not all programs have this option. Even if you install a separate drive various files/folders will be written on victory drive.
If the drives D, E & F are separate partitions of a disk, you will need to modify/extend partition in win

Deploy in the default directory of the application: the player is by default the system unit; the default path is \Program Files in Windows/applications under Mac OS.
Specify the directory for the deployment: allows users to end to specify the installation path when the package is deployed. On Mac OS, users are invited on the user interface, while on Windows, it's a command-line only option.

OT: Permissions for FrameMaker installation directory
I've never run into this before. I jumped into my FrameMaker installation directory, because some things in the maker.ini are not available in the copy in my profile (such as collage preferences) path, and I was blocked to save changes because I had no permissions.
Why COMPUTER SERVICES lock who?
I mean, clearly programs can install, if a virus or malicious code could still hurt, but why they lock me up, the local administrator, outside? All thoughts.
In addition, we will pass to Adobe to move all these ini elsewhere.
See you soon,.
Sean
Sean, you should be able to copy these settings into your personal maker.ini and they will prevail there.
