installation floppies

When I gave a few things tech for the recycling of the floppies to install my Lenovo and manuals included by mistake. I have now just the laptop and nothing else :*(

Please could someone tell what I need and where I can get replacements?

I would be very grateful for any useful comment.

Thank you, Euphrosene

You should be able to get a manual on the Lenovo Web site.

http://www.Lenovo.com/support

Look in the left panel, then click on 'manuals and User Guides. Most laptops have a version PDF of the HMM and User Guides.

Also I assume you mean the recovery disc? You can create your own. Follow the instructions on this link:

http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-68317

Let me know if this helps you

    Hello

I see you have already posted the topic once. I think that it s better to keep everything in a single thread. :)

In your situation, I would do the following: install the service pack and if he luckily successfully, you can always go back with the system restore option. There should also be an option during the installation of the Service Pack to save files to "going back."

    See you soon

    Hi drew160387,

That of really confusing story I must say but still some fuzzy points:

    What is Mcfee?

    Also, what is jargin?

What model of laptop and the operating system you are using?
Usually, you must create installation floppies yourself but it's according to the model of laptop.

Charge of 6 boot floppies and put the XP CD in a CDR/DVD USB BTC. Wonder of wonders, it starts to read!

My hypothesis is that the kit down.
Being probably too old configuration files. While Setup copies the files to be installed on the HARD drive, he also copied a txtsetup.sif older than replaced by sp1.cab

My only advice is to try on another kit.

If you plan to use floppy disks to install Windows XP,
Make sure that you have downloaded the correct set of installation floppies.

If your have a CD Windows XP with SP1, you must download
the installation diskettes for use with the Windows XP SP1 installation CD.

  • Pavilion 500-314: Reinstall not destructive

I am trying to perform a non-destructive reinstall of Win Home 64 bit on my 500-314 Pavilion 8.1.

Since HP does not provide Windows installation floppies, and this procedure can be done recovery disc, I did a USB bootable Microsoft support Web site.

The problem is that, once started, it tends to cling on one screen. I had the process works correctly once but be cause that I stupidly tried to do something else at the same time, I had to take off to the resettlement. Since I had to restart, I have not the option reinstall back screen.  Now when I start again from the USB key, reinstall it starts but clings to the screen "Ensuring you are ready to install" instead of the option on which screen reinstall to perform. I tried waiting for that step to continue, but after 6 hours, I decided it was certainly stuck (it happened several times). I tried several reboots, but that doesn't seem to help. It gets to the screen of tht and then stops.

I ran the installer as an administrator, so this isn't it. I made the media twice so this isn't it.  Any ideas why installation does not now (same thoough it once)?

PS no, I buy the installation diskettes not factory win 8.1, since I will be upgrading to Windows 10 once the bugs are developed in a few months.

You are of course, right, on the difference between a repair installation and update - and I wish MS had done it much clearer to people because their general information leads people to assume these are the same, and when they do a refresh and lose their applications, they are very angry!

  • no boot device found message after that finishing recovery disks and restart...

I recently bought a new Wester Digital hard drive my laptop HP provided with is death/failed, but now I have no found boot device / error message even after complete installation floppies and disk 4 is ejected.  He did the whole insert the disc 1, 2, 3 and 4, and he went to 100%, then said to remove recovery media and press on continue, so that he can restart and complete the process, but it just reboots the computer, gets the no boot message device and stays there.  There's too much during the night and still the same message.  After disc 4 finished what she also said not to touch anything or do something, so I did everything, he said to do.  The hard drive is new, as I said, and is the same 500 GB which was the one I replaced.  The recovery disc were not created by me, they came with my laptop when I bought from futureshop in late October 2010.  It is out of warranty too, that's why I'm looking for a solution...

    Any help would be welcome...

I did something else I looked and everything got up and running, so it's all good now.

  • VI Profiler

I got a tutorial to use the Profiler VI tool which I haven't used so far. The tool looks very interesting and I might have a use of this tool.  I have the professional development package which does not seem to contain this tool so I'm assuming that it is an add on tool.  The problem is that when I search the site OR to find more information about the tool, I come to a dead end: I can't find where to buy or download this tool to use.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

Run your installer of NOR. If you have the Pro package, then you have the profile generator tool available on the installation floppies. Scroll to the bottom of your choice of what to install and the Profiler is listed in the Add-ons. Install it and you should be good to go.

  • How to remove the user account with password, start menu

I got this laptop from my dads boss and there are two accounts of users per password and I don't know what they are, is it possible to remove them? because I can not get on the phone to use with these passwords there.

At this point your best approach would be to reinstall Windows on this machine.  When you start the machine, search for a key, press the first splash screen OEM that could be labelled 'System Recovery' and [quickly] press this button.

If you do not have what you need to reinstall windows, contact the manufacturer for a set of installation floppies or try some of the suggestions contained in the articles referred to in the following article (which is on the news only that we're allowed to talk in this Microsoft forum taken supported)

  • SATA HDD not foud

new disk sata hard not found on my computer laptop Gateway E - 475 M when I start windows install all the file load down, but when he finished and ask I want to set up windows xp now press Enter, I get Setup did find any hard drives installed in your computer. Any help on this

    Thank you

Windows XP Setup disks have been created until the SATA drives existing and therefore Windows installation floppies do not recognize him (they have no drivers for it).  The solution is to look carefully on the installation and you will see a point where a message down prompting you to press F6 to load external drivers.  At this point, you must press the F6 key and install a floppy disk (Yes, need a floppy disk) in the floppy disk drive that contains drivers for your SATA drive.  If you do not have a working floppy drive, you must create an another Setup by 'slip-streaming' the SATA driver disk in the installation disc.  There are Web sites that will help you in this process if necessary.

    Hello

Is there an error message or error code then start you the computer normally?

Try the following and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

Try to boot to the last good known Configuration.

Using the last good known Configuration:

Note: Also make sure that you have disconnected all external devices except the keyboard and mouse.

All said memory testass, SMART check: passed, abbreviated DST: failed.  Failure ID: RLRUXX-5AE7G5-XD003F-60V003, product ID: XH0684A #ABA. Called HP to see how id item failure means and they said that my HD went out. Looking to buy the new HD.  But the laptop did not come with installation floppies, came preloaded.  How can I get my o/s on the new HD?  I have the D drive as a recovery disk (almost complete), Norton online backup service.  Already transferred my important files on cd and some added programs that came with laptop.  I was also told that I could save my 'c' on an external disk drive, I then download HD again and that would work... is it true?  Can I just copy the 'c' External drive and then again copy HD and everything will be like it was before?  Need answers as soon as possible please.  Currently using desktop downstairs in the cold room and different and slower operating systems... I hate it!  Want my laptop back wireless!  Help, please!

    Hello

You will surely find this cloning (copy) the existing HARD disk will not be successful for success if the drive is already a failure, however, there are two other options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

You may need, additional drivers and software are here.

  • How to get a recovery disk

original title: I bought my laptop in 2009 with vista and then I had a problem and it was not there, and I could not put this back the shop never gave me a disk but I have the product number for it.

so I don't want a new drive can get back on

You need get the manufacturer's recovery disks.  With the key product does not help (well, it helps because you will evenaully be able to install and activate the system)- but this doesn't help not in what concerns obtaining a disc.  Microsoft does not give free installation floppies (even if you can prove that you purchased the product or have a receipt).  Here is Microsoft's policy on replacement software:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246 , which, as you can see basically leave you to deal with the manufacturer.  They should be able to provide recovery discs at a reasonable price.  Remember that this will work as a clean install, so you will need to backup your data, because everything will be wiped.  If you have any questions about the recovery process, ask the manufacturer, because it is their product - not Microsoft and we have no information on it (regardless of which manufacturer it is).

Another option is to borrow a real full Vista Installation disk of the same size of the bit of anyone and use it with your product key to install.  It cannot be an OEM installation disc or the recovery from another computer or installation disk will most likely fail, you can mess up your devices with bad drivers, and you can actually cause damage to the system.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!
