Installation of a Sound Blaster Z on a R5 Alienware Aurora

I am installing a Z Sound Blaster on my R5, as I do not particularly like for the integrated sound card. What is the correct procedure to do this (that is, I need turn off, etc..)? I went into the BIOS, but I see nothing on embedded devices. My apologies if this has been asked before, but I searched Google up and down, and I can't seem to get a straight answer from anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello

I don't think that you will need to disable it. If you do, you can simply try to disable from Device Manager if the option is not there in the BIOS.

    Hello:

See if your BIOS has an embedded audio location.

If so, it can automatically able to off when you installed the add-in on the sound card.

Check the options you have for setting the audio embedded.

If it is on Auto or disabled, change it to "Enabled", save the setting where you made the change, and again when you go out.

The sound should then work on both devices.

And if the sound card works with the integrated audio system setting to enabled, then change your Auto if aboard was off.

    Windows 7 32 bit
    Mobo Gigabyte GA - M61P - S3 MB (nvidia/AMD compatible)

I tried to install the XP drivers in compatibility mode, Windows 7 drivers, published by Creative (SB24_PCDRV_LB_1_04_0090), created by Daniel pilots (including one of its older versions for Vista) and also let Windows download and install the "correct" drivers for me.  He still will not install properly!

I get this error for 'SB Audigy' and Trusted Audio Device from Microsoft: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

I tried to install it in safe mode, I tried to delete driver files associated with as much as I could and then put it back (was not able to remove all the due to permission issues), I also reinstalled 7 and tried to install the driver of Daniel immediately after installation of my chipset drivers), none of them (as well as many other combinations) gave rise to audio drivers works.

If it's any help, Windows tells me contradictory things this way: install the software drivers SB Audigy Troubleshooting "audio playback" tells me SB Audigy successfully installed has a driver problem and it was not fixed.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.  Thank you!

@lou - no doubt the first thing I did.

To fil919.  I have broke down and bought a new sound card to another manufacturer but had to jump through hoops to let him work, so I think that the process might have worked with the Creative card.

Reinstall Windows 7 as a clean copy - NO upgrade (go ahead and have the plugged card).  Remove any audio drivers Windows tries to install (Device Manager).  Take Creative XP drivers, use it and launch the setup.exe under Windows XP SP2 w / admin rights compatibility mode (if you don't know how to do this: right-click on the exe, select properties and there is a "compatibility" tab to choose these options).  Make sure that you select the setup.exe in the folder "drivers" under this pack (just in case - the rest of the software is often unnecessary in my experience and the most variable we can eliminate the better!).  And as a note, it's literally the second thing that I installed after I reinstalled windows - first being my GPU drivers.  I hope this works!  Otherwise the sound card, I had was the SIIG SoundWave 7.1 PCI (on Newegg for $35) card, but I had to go through a clean install for this card to work.

  • No sound in Windows 7 after installing dual boot Ubuntu (Sound Blaster Audigy)

I recently put my Windows 7 system to dual-boot with Ubuntu 9.10.

Now, Ubuntu will play audio through my Sound Blaster Audigy, but Windows 7 will not. I reinstalled all the drivers and installed correctly. I went through the troubleshooting Control Panel section; She didn't find any problem, but there is still no sound. When I play music, volume control shows that the audio is playing.

I can only assume that there is a problem with the installation of Ubuntu, that seems odd, since BONES are on separate partitions on my hard drive. Like I said, Ubuntu played outside the Audigy with no problems.

Meanwhile I use my onboard sound for Win7, but I'd love to get my audigy...

Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.

Nope checked all the possible power for audio setting in windows 7.  The only solution I found was disabling Audigy, plug in my onboard sound, allowing it and restart the computer.  On restart I could activate audigy, plug on it and activate the audigy player.  It was my only solution, but this is not going to work whenever I want to use ubuntu. No solution practice.

  • HP P6654y does not sound blaster Audigy

I had problems with distortion of the sound through my main speakers audio integrated, so I installed - Soundblaster Audigy Fx-

So far I have disabled the audio in the BIOS / disabled the HD audio in Device Manager / made sure not to install the HDMI audio option on my graphics card / uninstalled and reinstalled all the drivers for the Sound blaster.

I have the plug connected to the decision-making Center Green on the new and still no audio sound card... I tried to connect on all ports and even tried my old speakers without result.

Windows it is grateful in Device Manager and the program for Sound Blaster load well.

I wonder if I just got a bad card?

    Hello

I suggest that you try just one change at a time.  Video card tray and work on the issue of sound.  Its edge must be defined for the disable in the BIOS as shown by the image that I posted for you.  If stilll you have questions then contact Soundblaster.

  • I accidentally uninstalled my Sound Blaster. Is there a way to reverse uninstall?

I accidentally uninstalled my Sound Blaster, sound is now gone. Is there a way to reverse uninstall? I buy? Where?

Unless you physically remove the computer sound card, when you restart the system, Windows should detect the hardware and install it.

If Windows complains that he doesn't have a driver, you will need to download the appropriate driver (free).

If you have a branded computer (Dell, HP, Gateway, Toshiba, etc.) go to the computer manufacturer's Web site, enter the credentials that are required on your computer (usually his style, "service tag" or similar) and you should be able to find the driver for your hardware.  Make sure you get one for your version of Windows.

If you have a custom computer or built by a builder who is not a Web site, you will need to identify the particular model of SoundBlaster you have and get the driver from Creative Labs.  Start here--> http://support.creative.com/welcome.aspx#type_1 if you are unsure of the particular model that you have, you may need to open your computer and look physically the card.  If you do, take some precautions appropriate, for example, http://tips4pc.com/articles/computer%20maintenance/how_to_open_a_computer_case_safe.htm

  • Sound card Sound Blaster?

No sound from my computer. I just installed a new hard drive and Windows XP. I downloaded the drivers from the Dell site, but the audio does not work. In Device Manager there is no yellow question mark or red marks points to indicate a problem. Device shows SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio, although when I tried to download the Creative Labs - driver Upgrade Patch (which applies to the Sound Blaster Audigy) Manager, I got an error message "Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio card on your system. Make sure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this Setup program. "How can I get a Sound Blaster Audio card? I have a Dell Dimension 4600. Windows XP.

    Thank you

If the headphones work when they are plugged into the audio port, then your sound is properly configured and the port works correctly.

Your speakers are connected to a power source? If Yes, is it plugged and are activated? Is there any other computers, you can try the speakers with?

  • Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 PCI SB0220 - undetected

I have a Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 PCI Sound Card (model SB0220) who has always worked in Windows XP.  I bought a new desktop computer with Windows 7 and when I installed this card, the Manager of devices (under other devices) had yellow exclamation points for multimedia and peripheral of entry PCI Audio Controller.  When I tried to install the original CD software my PC blue screened on me despite the choice to run in compatibility mode.

After months of waiting, Web site compatibility now reports that his Creative SB0220 card is compatible with Windows 7 and directs you to the Creative site to download a file called SB24_PCDRV_LB_1_04_0090.EXE.  When I run this file, I get the following error message:

"Setup is unable to detect a product that is supported on your system.  Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this Setup program.  The Setup will exit.

When I took the sound card and rebooted my PC, nothing has been detected in Device Manager.  As soon as I reinstalled it, he appeared in the device again Manager so I know it is detected.

It is better to wait for Microsoft to create the correct drivers or can I buy another sound card?

    Hey Lifeat50,

    Thanks for your post.

The difference in sound quality seems perceptible for me, 16-bit to 24-bit.

I'm a musician for years 20 - ish, and I think it's a reasonable upgrade for your videos.

Here is a site that explains the difference (LOL, in detail):

  • Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 PCI sound card drivers compatibility

Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 the PCI card is not compatible for 64 bit Windows 7. I tried this system does not detect automatically or manually. If anyone has the driver please post the link or the other using this card with windows 7 then tell me how it installed.

I got creative sound blaster live 5.1 PCI sound card then visit this link but it does not work... not compatible with windows 7... : ()

The Webcam Live! sound card was "placed" as a "legacy" product until Windows 7 was first be "shipped".  You will have a problem finding drivers and even less how it works.  I tried the "replacement: Audigy to work on my Windows 7 and it was a new model from Creative Labs."

You should probably consider a replacement of the sound card.
