No sound? XP Pro/SP3 Sound Blaster.

No noise, the error message / 0 X 88780032 DirectSound Driver not installed. I have a sound blaster external MP3 + Digital audio enhancer installed, works well for several years. No changes? I uninstalled the software and reinstalled and updated the drivers. Multimedia Audio Controller also looked in system information, not installed driver. Is their a default for XP PRO/SP3 audio driver? Don't know what to do from here?

    Hello

I'm the reconstruction of a laptop Toshiba A100-PSAA9A-10U038 with a new installation of Windows XP Pro SP3.

At this point, I have not all sounds (Yes, the volume is set to the top).

As this is my first post I covered I hope that most of the bases as with SP3 and I installed all the updates available from Toshiba and Microsoft - well at least, I guess I have. I downloaded the latest updates from Realtek who advised in a general forum but no luck.

Device Manager tells me that there are problems with a "PCI Device" and a "unknown device", and I assume that one of these two is the culprit.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Hi mate

I think that you have installed the driver of his evil.

  • Problems with sound: XP Pro, SP3

    Hello experts:

I'm at my wits end. I can't get my sound to work after a charging system.

    I did this:

-Re-partitioned, formatted my hard drive.  Loading XP Pro, SP3. Had no problems.

-Loading the appropriate drivers, including AC 97 Audio Realtek and Realtek high Definition Audio Driver.

    Current state:

-Control Panel, sounds and Audio devices: "Volume", not "No audio device" tab, all gray. "The audio tab, no device, all gray." Tab Voice", all gray. "Material" tab, everything is listed, in order to include the Realtek High Definition Audio. Also listed are the "Audio Codecs", "Media control devices", "Legacy Audio Drivers", "Video Codecs.

-Control Panel, administrative tools, Services, Windows Audio: "on the road", "automatic".

-My computer, hardware, Manager of devices, "audio, video, and game controllers.  Everything is there. This is the same list as above to include the Realtek High Definition Audio.  There is no yellow marker.

-My computer, hardware, peripherals, reviews, hidden devices Manager: there is a yellow marker on the icon 'Serial '. When I right click on this icon, it looks for material changes.  No change of material found and the yellow marker remains on the icon of the series.

-Volume control: when I click on the volume control icon, "there are no active mixer devices. Go to control panel, click Printers (huh?) and other devices and then click Add Hardware. When I do that it can not find NEW hardware, but it does not list the same elements as above to include Realtek High Definition Audio.  The volume control is a 'single '.  I remember well he was a multi balance settings with other cursor.  Don't know if that makes a difference.

-BIOS: I have the latest update for my processor.

So, I'm hunting my tail here.

About five years ago, I remember having the same problem when I did the same thing: partition / format / reload XP Pro / SP3.  AND... I remember well, I ended up doing back SP3 to SP2.  I think that's what I did, but, in any case, I finally got the proper functioning...

    Clearly, I forgot something.

    Hello

I suggest check the chipset on the computer drivers to update, by contacting the manufacturer of the computer, check to see if it helps.

Important: Change (CMOS) BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

Method 1: Turn on the Audio device in BIOS

    (a) turn on your computer and access your BIOS settings. The key of the keyboard in question varies according to the manufacturer of the motherboard. In general, the key to the BIOS is disclosed at the bottom of the screen during the Power-on Self Test process. Access usually consists of the F1, F2, F10 or delete key.

    (b) go to the 'Advanced' in the BIOS section. Go to the 'Onboard' or 'Device Configuration' option by pressing "Enter". The sound settings are usually under "Audio Controller" or any other similar configuration related to the sound.

    (c) press 'Enter' to turn on or off the sound setting at hand. Note that these options vary according to the motherboard, even if they are the default settings that are programmed into a computer's BIOS.

    (d) press F10 to save and exit the new settings.

Method 2: Uninstall the audio codes and drivers installed

    (a) open Control Panel and double-click the system icon.

    (b) select the hardware, and then click the Device Manager button.

    (c) add to the list "Sound, video and game controllers". Double-click the Audio Codecs or video Codecs item to display a list of the installed codec.

    (d) select one of the codecs and either remove this codec from the system or turn it off.
Note: To be on the safe side, always create a system restore point before removing or reinstalling the codecs.

    (e) restart the computer and check if that helps.

    (f) If your device is listed, click the device to highlight, and then click Next.

    (g) a screen a message stating that "this device works correctly. Click Finish to complete the wizard, your hardware is set up OK and you don't need to continue with this process.

    (c) choose the installation option.

    (d) restart Windows.

    Hello:

See if your BIOS has an embedded audio location.

If so, it can automatically able to off when you installed the add-in on the sound card.

Check the options you have for setting the audio embedded.

If it is on Auto or disabled, change it to "Enabled", save the setting where you made the change, and again when you go out.

The sound should then work on both devices.

And if the sound card works with the integrated audio system setting to enabled, then change your Auto if aboard was off.

  • I accidentally uninstalled my Sound Blaster. Is there a way to reverse uninstall?

I accidentally uninstalled my Sound Blaster, sound is now gone. Is there a way to reverse uninstall? I buy? Where?

Unless you physically remove the computer sound card, when you restart the system, Windows should detect the hardware and install it.

If Windows complains that he doesn't have a driver, you will need to download the appropriate driver (free).

If you have a branded computer (Dell, HP, Gateway, Toshiba, etc.) go to the computer manufacturer's Web site, enter the credentials that are required on your computer (usually his style, "service tag" or similar) and you should be able to find the driver for your hardware.  Make sure you get one for your version of Windows.

If you have a custom computer or built by a builder who is not a Web site, you will need to identify the particular model of SoundBlaster you have and get the driver from Creative Labs.  Start here--> http://support.creative.com/welcome.aspx#type_1 if you are unsure of the particular model that you have, you may need to open your computer and look physically the card.  If you do, take some precautions appropriate, for example, http://tips4pc.com/articles/computer%20maintenance/how_to_open_a_computer_case_safe.htm

  • Installation of a Sound Blaster Z on a R5 Alienware Aurora

I am installing a Z Sound Blaster on my R5, as I do not particularly like for the integrated sound card. What is the correct procedure to do this (that is, I need turn off, etc..)? I went into the BIOS, but I see nothing on embedded devices. My apologies if this has been asked before, but I searched Google up and down, and I can't seem to get a straight answer from anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

I don't think that you will need to disable it. If you do, you can simply try to disable from Device Manager if the option is not there in the BIOS.

  • Sound card Sound Blaster?

No sound from my computer. I just installed a new hard drive and Windows XP. I downloaded the drivers from the Dell site, but the audio does not work. In Device Manager there is no yellow question mark or red marks points to indicate a problem. Device shows SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio, although when I tried to download the Creative Labs - driver Upgrade Patch (which applies to the Sound Blaster Audigy) Manager, I got an error message "Setup could not detect any Sound Blaster Audio card on your system. Make sure that your Sound Blaster hardware is properly installed before running this Setup program. "How can I get a Sound Blaster Audio card? I have a Dell Dimension 4600. Windows XP.

    Thank you

If the headphones work when they are plugged into the audio port, then your sound is properly configured and the port works correctly.

Your speakers are connected to a power source? If Yes, is it plugged and are activated? Is there any other computers, you can try the speakers with?
