  • Looks like Firefox has saved a huge field of incident reports that goes back a long time... Scan of Norton 360 takes about 30 minutes to scan through them... can I remove the

My windows7 home premium system seems to work well (I keep very current, the updates of windows every morning and installation of all the most important immediately) as well as java and adobe updates and of course, all firefoxupdates, automatically)

I have firefox occasional accidents--maybe two months or thereabouts - but few attended and they have never created any big problem I see.

HOWEVER, recently while watching closely and time a Norton 360 first Full scan system, I noticed that for more than 30 minutes, Norton 360 ran through Firefox and landfills error reports. It resembled a large number of report of Crash of Firefox with file system objects. As an accumulation of a lot must have been everyone since I bought the new PC 3 years ago! Is this normal? Can I clean out / erase all those? How can I do?

You can clear on crash reports if you wish, they are especially useful if you have a reproducible crash.

  • WRT 310N worm. 2. cannot update Windows Vista and Norton 360 since I installed this router

    Hello world

As the topic title says, since the installation of the router WRT 310N worm. 2 on my laptop, Windows Vista, and Norton 360 can not be changed - I continue to receive operation failed errors whenever I try to download the latest version of the software updates or antivirus. Generated error doesn't also have a HelpFile associated with it.

  • Cannot install VIPRE software; Impossible to uninstall Norton 360 (Error 21)

I had AVG security software uninstalled on my PC running Vista Ultimate. Trying to install Vipre antivirus, to halfway through the installation, I am advised to uninstall Norton 360 (14/09/2008) before the end of the installation.  Trying to uninstall Norton 360 (which I've never installed on my PC), 21 error seems to prevent the elimination of this ghost software...  Using the search tool does not work.   A few days ago I saw the Amazon UK site for the current cost of the Norton 360 for 5th edition.    Anyone have any ideas on how to remove that point of thugs?    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your suggestions...  Under Program Files (C drive), I traced the supply of the software Norton 360 under "Setup my PC" and deleted these files.  However, looking at the Norton Removal tool seemed a trifle compkicated and may have caused other problems. So instead, I downloaded the FREE Avast internet security software on my Vista PC and no problem.  Also, prevoiusly, I had successfully installed VIPRE on my other two PC running XP., on a trial period of 15 days.    My idea is to keep things works fine without hassle.

  • MCAFEE VS. NORTON 360 TO PROTECT THE VISTA OPERATING SYSTEM

I have a Qosimio Toshiba computer and it came with trend Anitvirus software for the first year. I have the Vista operating system. I want to either update Mcafee or Norton 360. What is the best for my computer and do I uninstall the antivirus software of original Trend before or after the installation of the new software, and how do I do?

    Hello

Frankly, I would not use all three, and never you have on the machine now that you must
Delete (so you have only a major antivirus on the system) do not forget to use the removal of their creator tools
or anyone who can leave problems using scraps.

Download replacements, but do not install until after the removal of those present and restart.

    ========================================================

Here's what I use and recommend: (all are free and offer exceptional protection)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with everything I threw at them.
Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven very reliable and compatible.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except away from Standard, Web and network is working.

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(Sometimes you have to temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom right of IE)

Avast - stop home - free - all shields you do no need except leave Standard, Web and network running.
(Double-click the blue icon - details look OK. - upper left Shields - those that you do not cancel).
    http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - Home - small, fast, exceptional CLOUD free protection, working with other security programs. It comes
a scan only, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something to come back here or use Google to see how to remove.
    http://www.prevx.com/   <-->
    http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp  <-->

    PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
    http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever suspect malware, and that would be unusual with
Avast and Prevx running except a low occasional (not much), updated cookie and then run it as
a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

  • Impossible to install norton 360 online

Original title: cannot install norton 360 online

I recently changed from windows xp to windows 7.  I have norton 360 online through my ISP, but I can not install on my computer.  I'm on dial up, so I got the new drive for windows 7, but whenever I try to install it, the program will start to install, and then after that I selected to accept and install, a message appears saying: there was a problem and the program has stopped working.  Why is this happening?

    Hello

Step 1: Install the clean boot:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/929135

Note: When you perform a clean boot, you temporarily lose some functionality. When you start the computer as usual, the function returns. However, you may receive the error message, or you can experience the original behavior.

Step 3: Run the hotfix in the following article:

How to solve problems when you install or uninstall programs on a Windows computer

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2438651

Step 4: Clean the Temp folder,

    Delete files using disk cleanup

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup

Step 3: Install Norton as an administrator

Try right click on the actual Setup.exe and choosing the option 'run as administrator '.

This example may or may not work for you with your program, use the built-in Administrator account to perform the installation.

"It seems that the"Run as Administrator"command gives you administrative privileges only, and they are not enough to install Java (and OpenOffice, by association). To work around this problem, you must actually connect to the built-in administrator.

Open a command prompt with admin rights by clicking Start, type cmd in the search/run box, hit CTRL-SHIFT-ENTER. At the prompt, type:

NET user administrator / Active: Yes

Then disconnect from your regular account and folder administrator integrated, where you might be able to install the program. When you are finished, open a session to your regular account and, for security reasons, disable the built-in using administrator account:

NET user administrator / active: No.

  • Why after an update my Norton 360 registry cleaning is a registry key not valid?

This time was the in update for Adobe Reader, but I saw it with some other updates as well. I noticed this problem in my computer after that microsoft has passed to outlool.com. From there, I started to get the registry changes any time I open microsoft Explorer. This is the reason why I switched to firefox. My registry now remains unchanged any time I open Firefox, but it continues to be a problem sometimes when I run the updates. Normally, I check my record before and after the execution of the update. I contacted and complained to microsoft, but I never received a satisfactory answer.
My computer runs on windows XP.

    Please notify.
    Thank you

It is not really possible to answer this question without knowing the keys to register in question. Have you tried to ask Symantec why their product keeps complaining about registry keys?

  • Why is-toolbar Norton 360 invalid and incompatible with Firefox?

I recently switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox 26 - I have the latest updates for both products, but my Norton toolbar will not - allow the extension add-on says it is not compatible with Firefox, even if the site of Norton claims it is compatible. Protection against vulnerabilities in Norton was also disabled, but after checking the updates in the Toolbox, it has been activated. My Norton works while browsing in Firefox, and when my toolbar Norton will be available?

Norton has had updates for their extensions toolbar from Firefox 26.0 was released on 10 December.

    http://community.Norton.com/T5/Norton-360/Firefox-26-support-for-Norton-toolbar/TD-p/1062183

Some say it's better to live updates before the new update of Firefox. You may need to put live updated several times to get the extension to work.

  • After the update to firefox 17.0 when I do a scan with Norton 360 it does not pick up the tracking cookies which changed 16.0.02

After the update to firefox 17.0 when I do a scan with Norton 360, it is no longer captures the rejected. These cookies that have been picked up with firefox 16.0.02 what you have changed? Plus, I'm getting sick of these updates - at least we tell users what has changed in new versions.

First of all, we do not say what has changed in each version, http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/17.0/releasenotes/.

Secondly, Norton should always be able to delete your cookies (just so that you know that the cookies are generally harmless, and you don't need to worry to remove). If not, you can delete the cookies in Firefox Cookies - Information that Web sites store on your computer

  • How can I get firefox to enable norton 360 to work?

I upgraded to firefox 17 now my norton 360 will not work. How to get a Firefox that allows it to work?

Norton publishes an update to each new version of Firefox, usually on the same day a new version of Firefox is available. You must run Norton Live Update several times to be sure that all updates are downloaded and installed. You can usually find the Norton update for the version of Firefox by typing into Google "norton 17 firefox compatibility" (including the quotes) and its replacement by the current Firefox version number, if not Firefox 17.

Here is the Norton information on compatibility with Firefox 17. Read it carefully.

Other - you should check your Plugins and update as needed.
