installation of Oracle 11 g grid control
Can I install base data, weblogic and repository grid control in a single server, right? Based on the doc for oracle grid control, it seems good. Please notify.Thank you

Hello
Which option is the best?
If you have a CMS and repository in different servers, you can have a more scalable configuration. More, you can also install several WHO (on multiple servers - 1 SGD per host) as shown in this overview:
http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11857_01/install.111/e15838/overview.htm#CJAHHFEA
Of course, this type of architecture is more powerful and allow you to give more resources (CPU, memory) to EM Grid control. If you have hundreds of targets to monitors and dozens of users who can connect and use EM grid control, it may be useful to use this feature ( load balancing, several WHO,...):
http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11857_01/install.111/e16847/install_addln_oms_slnt.htm#BABBGGAH
However, if you have just a few tens of targets and a few users who may connect occasionally to the EM grid control, you can also install all {repository + WHO} on the same server.
Anyway, in all cases, you must take into account related Harware requirements:
http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11857_01/install.111/e15838/appdx_hardware_reqs.htm#CACJBDGF
And also, it is important to know the Port number used by any component to communicate with each other:
http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11857_01/install.111/e16847/firewalls.htm#i1005951
Hope this helps.

Check prerequisites for the Installation of Oracle 11 g grid
Hello friends,
Could you please suggest if I have to install the following prerequisites? It will cause no problems in the future using the Oracle grid software.
In the affirmative, please suggest how should I install the following prerequisite packages.
Please find the below screenshot:
Please help me out here, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you
RT
For starters, cropping the image would be beneficial. Just see the one screen, not the entire desktop.
Yes... you need these packages. They are prerequisites for a reason. If you choose to ignore them, then you have a bad installation.
See you soon,.

Oracle Grid control Installationsur solaris 10
Dear all,
We have a database with Solaris 10 (64-bit) server OS and oracle 11g, 10 g and 9i as the version of database installed in it.
We want to monitor all the data base with the grid control because it will give us the function to monitor all the DB system.
Now, as we have only 11g, the latest version of db on the server.
So, my question is that is it possible that we install the oracle 12 c grid control (11g grid control is no longer available for download) on another server and install the agent on all the db so that we can control according to the requirement.
Future prospects for the expert views.

-You can install EM 12.1.0.4.0 DB version 10.2.0.5.0 and GR 11, 1 material, but not with 10.2.0.1.0. Please refer to the certification matrix for more details.

Oracle® Enterprise Manager Grid Control Installation and Configuration Guide 10g Release 5 (10.2.0.5.0) Part Number E10953-15
18 configuration Enterprise Manager for Active and Passive environments
18.1 using Virtual Host names for environments Active and Passive high availability in Enterprise Manager Database Control
My question is, for the paragraph that precedes, it seems to be missing details. It is assumed that the reader already knows how do?Set Up the Alias for the Virtual Host Name and Virtual IP Address You can set up the alias for the virtual host name and virtual IP address by either allowing the clusterware to set it up automatically or by setting it up manually before installation and startup of Oracle services. The virtual host name must be static and resolvable consistently on the network. All nodes participating in the setup must resolve the virtual IP address to the same host name. Standard TCP tools similar to nslookup and traceroute commands can be used to verify the set up.
Can you help me find the docs missing details for this?
Thank you
zxyStill, if you want to create a cluster of operating system level, you must level operating system, software clustering. Which is provided by the operating system vendor (or a third party for the operating system) not by the hardware vendor. This is why you said now many times that there is no such thing as 'Dell clusterware provider'. If you are looking for something that does not exist, you are unlikely to find something useful.
In your thread in duplicate (one of the reasons why it is annoying to have multiple threads duplicate with a different story and its context), I you pointed a clusterware solution for linux operating system. Hemant suggested others. If you're dead set on using OS clusterware to create a cluster rather than using CARS, you will need investigating one or more of these options to determine which work for you.

I can't install OEM Grid control on the client computer?
Hello
I have two instances of database (11g). I would like to install Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control they manage. Can I install OEM Grid Control on the client machine, or just on the server, where are instances of database?
Thanks awfully for help.
ConcerningHello
You can install OEM Grid control on a separate server.
But remember that for OEM grid control, you need a database in the repository. This repository can be on the server used for the OMS (Oracle Management Service) or on a separate server:
http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11857_01/install.111/e15838/overview.htm#CJAHHFEA
In any case, it must be aware that Oracle, Oracle Management Service and the repository Agent must be able to communicate with each other and to use specific Ports.
So be sure that these Ports are open and free to use.

Yes, certainly, you can do this... That's the sole purpose of OEM Grid control.
You can also check the auditor certification for all types of targets managed by grid OEM OEM:
Please check MOS: Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Certification Checker [412431.1 ID]

10g Grid Control with database 11g
Hello
According to the name of the topic, it is possible to manage a database 11g with 10g grid control? The situation is that 10g grid is up and running and we have several new 11g databases, can they be added?
After that, when I try to install an agent from the web interface, I'm invited only with the Linux platform, however the 11g database is under Windows, how can this be resolved? (Enterprise Manager Grid Control works on linux)
Thank you very much for the input.Mika wrote:

Yes, it can. But better to use the Agent and the Group of OEM Grid Control 10.2.0.5 patch.
Learn more Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Certification Checker ID 412431.1*.After that, when I try to install an agent from the web interface, I'm invited only with the Linux platform, however the 11g database is under Windows, how can this be resolved?
Not sure I understand how you install the agent, could you clarify? It comes from the OEM Grid COntrol? Have you downloaded the Agent for Windows?
Nicolas.

Hello
I use Oracle version 10.2.0.1.
I want to install the GRID CONTROL on the top of this facility. For this I install OMA (Oracle Management Agent) first.
My query is, can I straighaway install AMO on Oracle database version 10.2.0.1 10.2.03 version? Or do I need to patch first the version of oracle database 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.3 base then only I can install version 10.2.0.3 on AMO.
Thanks in advance.

Version of the agent does not depend on the version of database. An agent can monitor all the Oracle database versions (depending on the version of the agent).
For the certification of the official follow-up of targets, see note MOS:
Auditor Certification Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control [ID 412431.1]
What is your version of SGD also?
OMA officer does not autonomous and you need to have an OEM grid control installed before you install the agent on a target server.
For OEM grid, please see:

Grid Control 11g with 8i databases
Hello
I have a few databases 8i and noticed that they are not compatible with 11g but with 10g Grid Control that I use now.
Means that they do not work in 11g GC or simply not supported?

Auditor Certification Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control [ID 412431.1]
OEM 10 G GRID supports 8.1.7.4. databases. And through Oracle 11 G grid will not support.
This means that you can continue to use, but in the case of any question, you will not be able to take the help of the Support of Oracle.
But I'm sure that you can monitor the database 8i with 11G grid.
I suggest you use the 10G agent for monitoring database 8i because with officials of 11 G you might face questions of database 8i.

It seems that the path or the CLASSPATH environment variable is pointing to an earlier installation of the JDK.
