Oracle Grid control - installation of JDK

I want to install Grid Control on linux 5. one of the steps is to install jdk1.6.0_18 from Oracle binary file jdk-6u18-linux - x 64 .bin. After I installed it, I checked the version of java and it does not seem right:
CD jdk1.6.0_18/bin
Java-version
java version "1.4.2".
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.1.2 20080704 (4.1.2 - 51 Red Hat)

I expect to have the 1.6.0 version but it shows 1.4.2.

Can someone throw some lights?

Thank you

S.

Hello

It seems that the path or the CLASSPATH environment variable is pointing to an earlier installation of the JDK.

The following link can help: http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/essential/environment/paths.html

Thank you

  • Is it possible to do a host to connect with two Oracle Grid Control?

    Hi all

We have 13 bodies Oracle local (host) that is connected through a remote Oracle grid control. Unfortunately, local COMPUTER group is not allowed to visit the remote ogc we have to check every day the guests one by one. I just installed a second ogc in local place. The question is what is it possible to connect to these local hosts of Oracle to the second ogc but do not take effect on the original? If possible, what is the procedure? As long as same as the installation of a new Agent Management Oracle or by using the Agent to exist? Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

I have two environments of GRID CONTROL. One is my SGD production and one is my WHO test. There are times where I need to test the functionality of CONTROL of GRID on HOSTS that have connected to my production, CONTROL of GRID of AGENTS. So, I install another officer in a separate ORACLE_HOME on these hosts configured to my TEST GRID CONTROL. The installation detects another agent and chooses the alternative ports. So guests have two agents, an agent connects to the WHO TEST and the other officer is connected to the WHO PROD with no port confilicts. Each agent consumes about 200 MB of memory. When I finished, I remove the agent connected to my TEST WHO. The 11g uninstall AGENT is very clean and efficient! / runInstaller-silent - uninstall 'REMOVE_HOMES is {$AGENT_HOME}. "

No, Control 11g Grid can handle 2.2. The next version of the Grid control will support Oracle VM 3.0.

  • SAP and Oracle Grid Control

    Hi all
A few days ago told me that Oracle Grid Control was not certified by SAP to watch, so my question is simple:
Oracle Grid Control certified to monitor an Oracle database running SAP?
I don't see why it should not be certified, it is just an application.

    Concerning

Yes, it is certified. In fact, if you want to use certain features of the SAP CCMS, SAP requires you to have license Oracle Database Diagnostic Pack, then Yes, it is certified.

  • 11G Grid Control Installation.

    Hello

I need to install 11g grid control in a server, using the grid control, I need to maintain and manage 4 different databases, they are running in different servers.

Please guide me what stage I must follow.

    Note:
Each target, I need to install the management agent? and how to install the management agent?

I suggest that get you the latest version on EM 12.10.2 rather than 11 g. You can install costs em 12.1.0.2 SGD and agents to install 12.1.0.2 on your DB. Agent note 11g will not work with 12 ch. SGC or vice versa.

    Hi all

I install the Oracle agent and when I get to the screen 'Specify Oracle Management Service rental' asked 'Management Service host name'. Is it the same as my host name of the database server? I don't know what to put here. When I do not have the host name of the database server in, and then he said: he can't locate port 4889 on this server. However, if you continue through the Setup all succeeds in the end. BUT, when I go to the link http:// < management_service_hostname >: 4889/em then nothing appears. I'm new with grid control. Anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you.

OK, so you say install Grid Control 10.2.0.3 and then patch it to 10.2.0.4 can then be used with 11g? I think that I get it now.

Correct, since you have a 64-Bit, 10.2.0.3 full installer is available for this OS.

  • Oracle Grid control Installationsur solaris 10

    Dear all,

We have a database with Solaris 10 (64-bit) server OS and oracle 11g, 10 g and 9i as the version of database installed in it.

We want to monitor all the data base with the grid control because it will give us the function to monitor all the DB system.

Now, as we have only 11g, the latest version of db on the server.

So, my question is that is it possible that we install the oracle 12 c grid control (11g grid control is no longer available for download) on another server and install the agent on all the db so that we can control according to the requirement.

Future prospects for the expert views.

-You can install EM 12.1.0.4.0 DB version 10.2.0.5.0 and GR 11, 1 material, but not with 10.2.0.1.0. Please refer to the certification matrix for more details.

  • installation of Oracle 11 g grid control

    Hello

    Which option is the best?

If you have a CMS and repository in different servers, you can have a more scalable configuration. More, you can also install several WHO (on multiple servers - 1 SGD per host) as shown in this overview:

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11857_01/install.111/e15838/overview.htm#CJAHHFEA

Of course, this type of architecture is more powerful and allow you to give more resources (CPU, memory) to EM Grid control. If you have hundreds of targets to monitors and dozens of users who can connect and use EM grid control, it may be useful to use this feature ( load balancing, several WHO,...):

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11857_01/install.111/e16847/install_addln_oms_slnt.htm#BABBGGAH

However, if you have just a few tens of targets and a few users who may connect occasionally to the EM grid control, you can also install all {repository + WHO} on the same server.

Anyway, in all cases, you must take into account related Harware requirements:

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11857_01/install.111/e15838/appdx_hardware_reqs.htm#CACJBDGF

And also, it is important to know the Port number used by any component to communicate with each other:

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E11857_01/install.111/e16847/firewalls.htm#i1005951

    Hope this helps.

Now please help me what is the next step that I have to perform. How do I place my checklist. How to fit my DB in the grid.
I use the grid control because I have to configure the plugin EM for ten times.

    Kind regards

    Hello

If you want to use EM 11 g Grid Control on 64-bit Linux, you must install the 11.1.0.1.0 version, which is available here:

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/OEM/grid-control/downloads/linuxx8664soft-085949.html

Note that the latest version of the EM is 12 c; However, if you still want to go with EM 11 g, the following support note documents the installation steps and has references to other useful notes:

Enterprise Manager Grid Control 11.1.0.1 step by step installation (Doc ID 1059516.1)

Moreover, the Concepts guide below contains information about 11 g EM including WHO and the agent components:

  • Requirements to install grid Controll 11g in Windows Server

    Hi guys,.

I met application Grid Control 11 g on Windows Server that has an installed database and Enterprise Manager configured.
I followed the official docs and viewing the video how to make the Grid control installation in OTN.
I deconfigured Enterprise Manager, then installed the JDK. I installed Oracle Grid Control, but I ended up installing Web Logic, Fusion Middleware and then next is the grid. I'm on the right track?

I remembered installing 10g grid and I just installed the grid and Agents.

I'm on the right track? Thank you!

The installation of OEM GC 11, you must first install WLS.
Make sure it's 10.3.2 because it's the only exit from suppored to OEM GC

Take a look at my Oracle SUpoprt note: step by step Installation of 11.1 Grid control * [1059516.1 ID] *.

You can set up the alias for the virtual host name and virtual IP address by either allowing the clusterware to set it up automatically or
by setting it up manually before installation and startup of Oracle services. The virtual host name must be static and resolvable consistently
on the network. All nodes participating in the setup must resolve the virtual IP address to the same host name. Standard TCP tools similar
to nslookup and traceroute commands can be used to verify the set up.
My question is, for the paragraph that precedes, it seems to be missing details. It is assumed that the reader already knows how do?

Can you help me find the docs missing details for this?

Still, if you want to create a cluster of operating system level, you must level operating system, software clustering. Which is provided by the operating system vendor (or a third party for the operating system) not by the hardware vendor. This is why you said now many times that there is no such thing as 'Dell clusterware provider'. If you are looking for something that does not exist, you are unlikely to find something useful.

In your thread in duplicate (one of the reasons why it is annoying to have multiple threads duplicate with a different story and its context), I you pointed a clusterware solution for linux operating system. Hemant suggested others. If you're dead set on using OS clusterware to create a cluster rather than using CARS, you will need investigating one or more of these options to determine which work for you.
