• Import a website generated by Robohelp long

  I'm not a user Robohelp myself, so please bear with me.  I have a user who has a new installation of Robohelp on his PC.  There is a Web site she created using Robohelp, but she hasn't any type of project file.  The generated Web site exists, however, and seems to work very well.  Is it possible to import this site and its structure in a project so that it can resume work on this subject?

  Many things are possible. The first hurdle will be to ask if she has access via FTP or whatever you're looking for files on the web server? If so, the files should be copied down to your PC.

  Once this step has been completed, it will need to reverse engineer these files in a RoboHelp project. Probably the plu fast approach and will be buying a HelpEssentials script that will make short work of it.

• Cannot generate the main provision in RoboHelp HTML X 5

  Several years ago, I had created a project using RoboInfo Publisher 5.  It's a fairly broad knowledge base with several folders, themes and a decent index.  When I switched computers recently I have tried to reinstall RoboInfo 5, to see that I could not activate it.  When I called Adobe support, it gave me an installer for RoboHelp X 5 as RoboInfo was is no longer supported.

  Now, when you try to update my existing project to RoboHelp HTML X 5, I find the menu selection to generate primary layout page is grayed out.  I can create a new project and publish it without problem, but I can't get my existing to publish.  After some research, I deleted the CPD file and reopen the project.  The first time I open it, after that the index is re-created, I can select in the menu generate main layout, but nothing comes.  If I close and reopen the app, the menu selection is grayed out again.

  Any thoughts?

  If you right click on the pseudo-dossier of single Source Layouts, you should see an option to create a new page layout.

• RoboHelp 6

  Hi all
  
  Just try RoboHelp 6 and discovered the following problem:
  
  After installation of RoboHelp Office XP software in a user local administrator rights everything works fine.
  
  When I connect with a non privileged user I get the following message when you run RoboHelp HTML:
  
  Cannot save itircl.dll itss.dll, HHActiveX.dll, RelatedTopicControl.ocx, CloseWindow.ocx, Contents.ocx, HHCTRLVersion.ocx, Index.ocx, Shortcut.ocx, Splash.ocx, WinHelpTopic.ocx, KeywordSearch.ocx, ImageChoice.ocx, HelpDesk.ocx, SeeAlso.ocx. If you encounter a bad behavior, please make sure that you have sufficient rights and restart the program. You may need to have an administrator run this program once configure some components.

  Let me reword that. You must be able to register the dll and ocx for RoboHelp to work. Unless you have changed your default groups, you will need to the administrator to save them. Once they are registered, you can change the registry key next so that it will harass is more to your end users:

  HKLM\Software\Adobe\RoboHTML\6.00\MontereyFrame\RegisteredOCXs

  This DWORD value must be changed from 0 to 1.

• RoboHelp 7 printed Documentation

  I work under Vista with Word 2007. I did have problems with RoboHelp at this point and...
  
  I created my standards of layout of print and selected "Finish." Rather than receive a word document, I got following messages is displayed:
  
  Disabled Marcros. Refer to the online help or the documentation for the host application to determine how to enable macros.
  and
  The recorded macros VBA for Word version is incorrect. Please reinstall printed documentation.
  
  I changed the settings for Macro Word for "disable all macros except macros digitally signed." I have not changed anything on my installation of RoboHelp.

  I changed my security settings to allow in "all macros" and I was able to run my printed documentation. So, I guess that I 'manage' my Word settings from this time manually and allow macros whenever I have request printed Documentation. A small price to pay.

  Ultimately, I added the developers tab my Ribbon of order because I believe I have to frequently access the macro security command. This tab allows access to (including Visual Basic and macros security) code, controls, XML, Protection and models. Very helpful too!

  Either incidentally, I "hit" in Word 2007 and found the settings of Macros command. To confirm my choice, I also used the link you published to arrive to the Word 2003-2007 comparison on the Microsoft website and followed their path. This is a useful site!

• RoboHelp hangs at startup and using robosource control

  I'm relatively new to this forum. I have used RH X5.02 now for a few months.
  |' m quite happy with it so far and find all the posts very useful here.
  
  So I was happy until last Monday, when I came back from 10-day vacation.
  Normally I start HR by clicking a link to RoboHTML.exe to my office.
  Instead of asking me which of my projects open, I got ZILCH.
  HR block just, the only way to stop is to use the Task Manager to end the process.
  The same thing happens when I want to add a project to version control.
  
  the icons of my 'most recently used file list' (Tools - Options - general) contain a big question mark red.
  I can't remember than before.
  From previous postings I unchecked "save without prompting."
  It doesn't change anything.
  
  I experience installation PushOK CVS SCC NT interface (v 2.1.1.2) to be able to use the Turtoise CVS version control system that seemed to work OK.
  I decide to use the Turtoise and PushOK system yet, but kept on the use of RoboSource control. PushOK interface has no uninstall because I wanted to do an additional test on our central CVS Turtoise system later.
  I had to renew the trial for PushOK software license when I came back. It came when I started the first time RoboHTML after my vacation.
  
  As I suspected that this additional interface might have something to do with my problems, I uninstalled and reinstalled the software, without having to reinstall the PushOK software. I took out of version control projects until I uninstalled everything.
  
  I expected to have no problem after all this, but to my surprise, it didn't matter.
  I think that there must be something in the registry or the project files themselves.
  
  I'm working on several projects HTML HR in 'same time', pass from one to the other. All projects are (or were) in RoboSource control.
  I am working on a Dell laptop with Windows XP Professional which is automatically updated to the latest versions. Yes, all files are installed locally on the laptop, including files in the RoboSource Control.
  We use Antivirus NOD 32 software.
  
  Everyone can shine some light on this situation?

  My first attempt would be to uninstall and Reinstall RoboHelp but you have already done this. That failed, see the topic on my site on installation of RoboHelp. It includes a complete uninstall, some extra steps that involve going into the registry. If normal precautions should be taken.

• By double clicking on the topic he removes and does not open

  Hi all

  I am facing a strange problem frustrating both of our controlled source help projects that no one else on my team knows. This seems to be a problem with my computer/installation of RoboHelp.

  Today, I went into our projects to help for the first time in a few days, and when I double click on any topic, it automatically checked off VSS, but it did not open. It extracts also in the CSS, template file (master page) and all the graphic files associated with the subject.

  Normally, when I double-click a topic, the topic opens, and it only checks it off VSS if I start typing in the topic. It does not check the CSS, master page file, or graphic files, unless I have make changes to these files.

  Like I said, nobody else knows this problem. We all have the same versions of the system (see below). It seems that me, and it goes both of our aid projects. To my knowledge, I didn't do anything to my computer or its application settings to cause this. Someone knows a problem like this? If so, what can I do about it? Any other ideas?

  My system information:

  RoboHelp HTML version 8.0.2.208

  Output type: WebHelp

  Source control: Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 8.0.50727.42

• Browse button does not

  RoboSource caused my windows Explorer is restarting frequently.  I have now uninstalled RoboSource so that the problem is solved, but in RoboHelp, I can't use the Browse button.  The screen just flashes then nothing and I have to end task to do anything.

  Browse the button being 'Open' icon to search the computer for project files in the start screen.  Also in the project when you want to browse to insert an image, this folder icon.

  I tried to repair the installation of Robohelp, did not work, so I uninstalled and reinstalled. Still the same problem.  Execution of Robohelp 8.02.  Anyone with ideas?

  Before advice was

  1. make the thing to insert an Image and make sure the dialog box is to the point.

  2. Press [Alt + space]. A context menu to adjust the dialog box will appear.

  3. choose move.

  4. press one of the cursor keys, which indicate that you move the dialog box to the edge of the dialog box.

  5. click on the mouse where you want the dialog box to appear.

  See if you can sort anything from that.

  Using RoboHelp HTML 5.0. When I publish my system to help as a Word document, I receive dozens of weird of the fields / codes in my document.

  See also the example attached .jpg. It has nothing strange or weird about the information being converted. The style information is very basic. These subjects were sent to the word before. We update our Guide of the user once per quarter and it worked 3 months ago. This generation occurs on a new computer with a recent installation of RoboHelp (last machine had a hard disk crash).

  Thanks for the idea! Worked by disabling the Word formats. The strangest thing is with Word show format symbols... Adobe Distiller would not get not one. PDF file. Adobe Distiller would be the bomb when he hit the first thing {XE...}. I didn't know they are verbal symbols. Thank you very much!!! Have a great 4th!

• Failed to install (restore) on Windows 2008

  I try to install RoboHelp 7 on a new system Windows Server 2008 64 - bit (very similar to Vista) who has never had any Adobe product is installed. Still, the installation fails and cancels all changes to the system. The files are created in the default installation directory (C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 7), then they are automatically deleted when the installation program fails. I tried to install several times, rebooted the machine, disabled UAC, run the installer as administrator and tried other ideas I've seen on these forums, but nothing works. I have exactly the same problem with Adobe Captivate 3, but not with other non-Adobe programs I've tried. The exact message in the InstallShield Wizard is, "the wizard was interrupted before Adobe RoboHelp 7 could be completely installed." Your system has not changed.   Thanks for the replies. I managed to solve the installation problem actually two things:

  I went to where RoboHelp was unpack the installation files (7\RoboHelp C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\Adobe RoboHelp) and set all the EXEs to run in Windows XP compatibility mode.

  I opened a command prompt in this directory and run the installer of RoboHelp directly without user intervention: "msiexec /i"Adobe RoboHelp 7.msi"/ passive." This installed RoboHelp using the default options.

  It is apparently a problem with InstallShield on Vista which was experienced by many software manufacturers. I found the solution from Symantec for this page: http://tinyurl.com/3g2bl4

• RoboHelp 10 installation of the trial version arrives at 65% and stops

  I tried to install Robohelp 10 demo on my laptop Dell of Win7 for about 4 hours now and it always stops at words on a full score of 65% (currently install AdobeHelp).  I tried at least 4 times and it stops at the same place every time.

  (1) I am running the program as administrator

  (2) my system is Win7 (64 bit)

  Any suggestions on how to fix this?

  Thanks for your post.  Even if it does not solve the problem completely, the links you provided were invaluable for coming up with a viable solution.  Here is what happened:

  1. follow the above instructions to the letter.

  2 retries install RoboHelp 10 trial.

  3. the same results; Installation stopped at 65% (currently install AdobeHelp)

  4. open Task Manager: RoboHelp 10 install application status: running

  5. click on the tab process and process sorted on the CPU usage

  6 noted that the process: install AdobeHelp * 32 used no cycles CPU for a long time (9 minutes).

  7 cancellation the AdobeHelp install * 32 process.

  8 installation is successful.

  9. RoboHelp 10 program and it seems to work; Although, I really did anything with it.

  Please follow the steps below to perform a silent install RoboHelp 9:

  (I) copy the game to the top of the installation on your local disk media.

  (II) create the application.xml.override file. This file (application.xml.ov) is required for serialization during installation, deleting the record, removal of the final license agreement of the end user (EULA) and removal of the update. To create this override file follow the steps mentioned below

   
  1. Open Notepad.
  2. Copy the following text in the application:
     12341234123412341234 SuppressSuppress-1
  3. Change your product code Product_Code :

  (a) navigate to the source installation folder> \payloads.

  (b) open the setup.xml file in Notepad.

  (c) locate the tag .

  (d) copy the alphanumeric code produces between and .

  (e) paste the code copied in the value of {Product_Code} in the application.xml.override file.
  Example: .

  (4) replace 123412341234123412341234 by your serial number.
  Important: Omit hyphens. Delete delete for invites it registration will appear. Delete delete updates for Adobe Application Manager.

  (5) save the file under application.xml.override in the deployment folder.
  Important : Make sure application.xml.override has not any additional extensions such as .txt.

  (III) command promt open in administrator mode. Type the following command to silently install the product.

  Note:-1) Depolyment file is located in the folder of deployment of the whole upward. There will be a specific deployment of locale file. Use one that relates to your need.

  (2) you can get error 6 code after completing the game in upwards. However, the product can work very well.

• Should I Robohelp Server or Source code control? and installation of HR

  So, I always compare products of creation and try to filter requirements.

  I've been reading more about HR and have met HR server and source control and ask yourself exactly if they are needed.

  I'm the only writer in society, probably helping web publishing or outputs html for use online help via our web application.

  Is it necessary to implement a server control or source, I can see that server gives me reporting capacity and statistical reports, neither of which I really need. Is there something else on the HR server that would be beneficial?

  In addition, source code control, it is more necessary when there are multiple writers accessing the same content at the same time that problems arise? Fix?

  Also, is it difficult or time-consuming is the installation process of HR on a single machine. It is a simple setup, or will I need to install database server or anything that might require IT to the team to get involved?

  Hi Nick.

  You're almost on the spot. RoboHelp Server is mainly necessary only if you want the features of additional reports. There are other minor differences between RoboHelp and RoboHelp Server but that's the main thing. RoboSource Control is an application for source safe and saved files and is designed for an environment of several author. It adds a layer of complexity to a single authoring environment, even if you can still use it if you wish. Personally I would ensure you have your source on a local disk (a key to RoboHelp requirement) and the backup on a network drive.

  Installing RoboHelp is painless. It's like any other application by using a wizard to guide. He has several options that you can choose, which one is to install the RoboSourceControl client.

• RoboHelp Server 7 installation problems

  I am a newbie to RoboHelp and I try to install RoboHelp Server 7 on a Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x 64 edition box. He runs IIS 6.0 that works without problem. However, when I try to install RoboHelp Server 7, I get the following error:

  Just to update, the answer final, through the Support of technology, is that RoboHelp Server 7 does not support the 64 architecture of Microsoft.

• Problem with the installation of the Office of Robohelp X 5

  Recently I had to reinstall Office of Robohelp X 5. I know that this product was taken over by Adobe.
  When I go to the INDEX & menu/HELP, the help file CONTENT is NOT coming.
  You have any ideas that could help me?
  
  In my view, there is a Service Pack for this version of Robohelp (do not know if they are called X 501 and 502 X). Where I can find them. Maybe they will fix the above problem.
