RoboHelp 7 printed Documentation

I work under Vista with Word 2007. I did have problems with RoboHelp at this point and...

I created my standards of layout of print and selected "Finish." Rather than receive a word document, I got following messages is displayed:

Disabled Marcros. Refer to the online help or the documentation for the host application to determine how to enable macros.
and
The recorded macros VBA for Word version is incorrect. Please reinstall printed documentation.

I changed the settings for Macro Word for "disable all macros except macros digitally signed." I have not changed anything on my installation of RoboHelp.

What should be my next step?

Peter-
I changed my security settings to allow in "all macros" and I was able to run my printed documentation. So, I guess that I 'manage' my Word settings from this time manually and allow macros whenever I have request printed Documentation. A small price to pay.

Ultimately, I added the developers tab my Ribbon of order because I believe I have to frequently access the macro security command. This tab allows access to (including Visual Basic and macros security) code, controls, XML, Protection and models. Very helpful too!

Either incidentally, I "hit" in Word 2007 and found the settings of Macros command. To confirm my choice, I also used the link you published to arrive to the Word 2003-2007 comparison on the Microsoft website and followed their path. This is a useful site!

I appreciate your quick help Peter! Thank you!

Cindy

  • Placeholders (breadcrumbs, Mini-TOCs) doesn't show not in printed Documentation

I have included placeholders (bread crumbs and mini-table of contents) in Master Pages. They work as expected for the release of HTMLHelp, but when I generate printed Documentation (.doc), they are not there.

I checked for if sure I have not has not accidentally assign a condition online only (I have not).

I use RoboHelp 9 (RH9). I have to do something special?  I just tried applying specific printing condition to bread in the foot and using this condition when generating, but that did not help.

You get bread crumbs or mini tables of contents in the printed documentation.

I have not seen the absence of bread crumbs as a problem because they are simply a way to navigate on the screen and would be of no use in print. Mini Tocs however describe what is in this 'chapter' and should be included.

  • According to this that KNOCK printed Documentation generates a Word document

    Hi all

According to this that KNOCK "Printed material" generates a Word document?

It is not exactly according to the table of contents, I created for HTML Help. For example, it takes a subject here and there that I did not put in the table of contents, and anyway it's there even in the printed documentation.

    TIA

    -avi

    See printing on my site.

When you create a print layout, HR takes the TOC no matter what you select by default. If you don't have a TOC, obviously to that. You can then accept it or amend it, but later, the two are are more synchronized. Change the table of contents and the print layout will not change.

What you can do, because the TOC Editor is easier to work, is to go in the page mode and use the buttons to remove the previous provision and insert the table of contents was updated.

  • Problem of style with printed documentation

I'm generating printed material in my project, RoboHelp HTML Word. Using some of the tips on the website of Peter Grange, I created my first night out by choosing the option '[none] - use styles CSS for the project' in the printed Documentation Wizard.

The result was very good and I just had to make some changes to the styles in the Word document to get the styles to look as I wanted. Then, I saved the Word file as a template and import the model into my project.

The next time that I generated the printed output, I had a problem of formatting with numbered lists. The indentation is not what I had in the model. I tried formatting in a paragraph and update the style of attachment, but not changes to all instances of the style numbered list. In the Word template, I used the same numbered list style that was in my aid project rather than a standard numbered list styles in Word by one of the suggestions in this forum.

Any suggestions on getting the indentation for numbered lists correspond to what is in my template, without having to set each item in a list me? The main problem I find is that the indentation of each numbered list item gets changed to 0.04 (it is 0 in my model) and an additional tab is added. Also, while in my model the indent and the tab are both set to 0.22, when I generate printed documentation, there are two legs to 0.22 and 0.25, and the hanging indent is set to 0.25. In some cases, a tab gets the value 0.29!

    Thank you
    Alan

    Peter,

Yes, you were right. Before the regeneration of the printed output, I left all of the Word styles the value '[no - style to use in project] ". RoboHelp then created new styles in the Word document with the prefixes "rh_. The list of the bullet and numbered list styles were in retreat and that I wanted them to be. I then took the path of least resistance, so to speak and adjusted other paragraph styles to align properly with the list styles.

    Thank you.

  • Tables resized in the printed documentation

    RoboHelp HTML Version 6
    I create a new project.
I add topics using Word as editor of my.
I have added tables to topics. All of them are specified as being broad of 7.6 "(740 ou 760 pixels vus sur un écran, parfait pour 800 x 600)."
Also, when I print with a margin of 0.45 '' on each side, 7.6 "wide perfect for printed documents.

I spend 3 months in the creation of this project with 150 pages of printable documentation.

I'm going to export to either. DOC or. PDF and get the same results whether:
About 50% of my paintings have been reduced to 6 "wide. The other tables are still off the coast of 7.6 ".

I call for technical support from Adobe and explain this. They try to reproduce the problem and are able to replicate. They do not have an answer immediately, but agree that it should not act like this. The rep and I phone and email each other for a few days. I finally end up talking to another representative who can provide an answer. She is back to her supervisor, who tells me that he doesn't have an answer, but it it will escalate to tier 2 Technical Support.

Level 2 called me and said that he is "expected behavior," that RoboHelp's on purpose.
"HALF of my paintings is shrinking to 6 inches and leaves the other half 7.6 inches?
"No', he answers:" it must shrink them all at 6 inches. "

I told him I do not buy this response, that RoboHelps printed documentation must have the same appearance as it does on the screen.

He says that he will be a representative technical level 3 call me, but I didn't get a call.

Can someone please tell me what should I do to have my printed documentation come out looking the way it does on the screen?

    Thank you.
    -Sean

We found the problem and, for once, the word is not the guilty despite the code seen.

It seems that if you create a table in Word and there is no cell merged, when HR generates printed output, it sends the word width set unless it is greater than the width between the margins when it evolves to the table at this width.

If, however, the table merged cells, it does not get reduced and saturations margins.

Having both types of table makes the difference. Cheeop is now returned to Adobe about this and I hope that when it receives a response, it will mark it as the answer.

Windows XP, Word 2003, Adobe Acrobat 8, RoboHelp 7... suggestions?

-The word is not open while I create printed documentation.
-I don't have any odd anti-virus enabled software.
-Acrobat is not blocked or disabled in word (nothing is).
-I can create documents printed in the .doc format.
-I can create PDF files in Word format.

To correct this problem, you must reregister the Acrobat 8 PDFOfficeAddin.dll. Here's the stesp one of the kb on Adobe.com articles

Solution: manually register the COM add-in file.
Warning: this procedure involves editing the Windows registry. Adobe provides no support for editing the registry, which contains critical system and application information. Make sure you back up the registry before you edit. For more information about the registry, see the Windows documentation or contact Microsoft.

    1. close all Office 2007 applications.
    2. in Windows Explorer, locate PDFMOfficeAddin.dll and note its exact path, which may include spaces. The default path is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll.
    3. do one of the following:
o Windows XP: click Start > all programs > Accessories > command prompt.
o on Windows Vista: choose Start > all programs > Accessories. Right-click on command prompt and choose Run as administrator authenticate.
    4. in the command prompt window, type regsvr32 followed by a space and the path that you noted in step 1. Place the path in quotes. For example, if PDFMOfficeAddin.dll is in its default location, you would type the following command:

    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\PDFMaker\Office\PDFMOfficeAddin.dll"
    5. press ENTER.
    6. a dialog box confirms that the registration was successful. Click OK to close this dialog box.
    7. close the command prompt window.
