Installation of Windows 7 crashed after power loss

I desperately need some help here, myself being not not a computer genius.

I has been upgraded from Vista to W7 and left the laptop unattended topic step 6 (I think).

When I returned however, my laptop was powered down, as the power cable had came out. Now when I go to start windows, it tells me the installation was not complete, and I have to restart and restart the installation.

The problem is that I can't do this, because I can't further in windows than this.

What should / can I do?

Hey,...

Go into your BIOS settings to change the startup options so that it starts on the CD/DVD drive instead.

You should be able to start it again.

The only thing that can be a problem, it's that he CAN'T let you upgrade n he need to clean install? If someone else can confirm if it is the case or not?

Worth a try?

  • Satellite L350-24U: Windows Vista crashes after installing SP2

    Hello

I own a Satellite L350-24U laptop with Windows Vista 32. I bought in October and had to reinstal the OS twice now. Still, it crashes after installation of Service Pack 2. After you restart the system, a blue screen appears, giving the following information

    STOP: 0 X 00000024 (0 X 00190444, 0X86B9BAD0, 0XC0000102, 0X00000000)

I had to reinstall Win Vista with HDD Recovery from Toshiba (press F8, then repair etc.) and everything worked properly again.
THS time, it's more serious. Last night the system shut down whenever you use internet explore (after about 30 seconds). SP2 has not been installed, but there are so many problems, I decided to install SP2, because I hoped that the bugs I had with SP2 would be eliminated. When installing SP2, the system crashed again, and now I got the same bluescreenmessage new.

I tried to reinstall Vista, but the Toshiba HDD program starts no more: it is said: the installed program is not working (or something similar) - please click on ok to close.

I did not burn the cd of recovery yet, so I don't know what more can be done and online support is closed today.
I'd really be very happy for any help
    Thank you

    Hello

I searched a bit on the Microsoft Web site and on the blue screen, I created this article:
    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-GB/library/ms793935.aspx

So I think that the reason for the BSOD is a corrupted file system or a defective HARD drive. You should check the drive using the Drive Fitness Test for example.

I put t understand why you didn't burn the disc of recovery yet. Why you didn t read the manual at first?
Now, you have only one option to get a new recovery disk: Please order a new Toshiba directly: https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

    Sorry, mate, but you're wrong.
All drivers for Win 7 for Satellite Pro A210 are available on the European driver of Toshiba page that I recommend you check out once again

Given that this question does not appear using Win XP, I can say with certainty that this has nothing to do with the material, but it s a software related issue

I tried to use Boot-Repair, but it did not solve my problem.

    An error occurred during repair.

You can now restart your computer.

The start-up files [the operating system currently in use - 14.04.1 LTS Ubuntu] are far from the beginning of the disc. Your BIOS can't detect them. You can try again after you create a partition/Boot (EXT4, > 200 MB, beginning of the disc). This can be done via tools such as gParted. Then select this partition via the [separate/boot partition:] [Boot Repair] option. (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BootPartition)

-Boot-Repair is set to "Secure starting" (checked under "advanced options"), but is not my UEFI/BIOS.

-analyzing sda4 you notice the presence of boot.ini, it has not been deleted after revenues of bootmgr?

    Hi Max,.

Using the restore disc, we can format Windows and we will be able to format the partition. However formatting Ubuntu can contact Ubuntu support forums http://community.ubuntu.com/contribute/support/ubuntu-forums/ since they will be able to guide you to the best.

  • Desktop screen blank after power loss

This problem seems to have several solutions, but I think I've tried most of them.  I have Windows XP SP3.  Was in the middle of a copy of a floppy disk drive hard when the power failed suddenly.

Now, the computer starts to an empty office of light blue, but without icons or the Start button.  Can use CTRL-ALT-DEL to run Explorer and run programs.  I can not start Internet Explorer from the Explorer.  Microsoft Help however starts Internet Explorer and I can move around the Internet.  Norton Internet Security begins at the start so I did not have a virus problem.  I tried the recovery system back to before the disaster but I get the same result.  I just tried the Microsoft Hotfix but still the same result.  This program, however, wiped out all my previous Restore Points.  I have tried all the suggestions of Regedit because I am not sure how they correct the problem.  My best guess is that a. DLL or. SYS file is corrupt.  Is it possible to determine what is bad by the processes or Services that are not running?

    Any other suggestions or corrections?

    PROBLEM SOLVED.

Registry required a change to the value of Shell.

    REGEDIT

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "Shell" = "explorer.exe".

I found that the value has been replaced by "progman.exe.

After the reboot, the computer reported that he could not find a Restore Point from 26/10/2010.  I said not restore at a different point and he finished with a few slight differences in my usual startup; but the Desktop buttons and start were in place.

  • Photoshop elements 14.1 (Windows 10) crashes after importing multimedia files in a catalog to convert

In addition to 12.1 PSE, I installed PES 14.1 and converted to catalog.pse12db catalog.pse14db without any error message.

Import... Download the pop media button to the top of the "Coppying - XX % Completed" progress window, which evacuated then at 100% and PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe crashes.

Kill PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe with the Task Manager and go to PSE14 show media files had nevertheless imported free of errors.

Adobe Photoshop elements 14.1 reinstalling does not fix the problem.

Open a new catalog and importing multimedia files in this new catalog.pse14db runs without error.

Catalog.pse14db contains the beginning marked more 6000 photos with Photoshop elements 3 (on my old PC with Windows 2000) and thus has been transformed several times during its history. The volume_table table includes readers/devices from the old PC, which do not exist in PCs today.

Although I'm not familiar with SQLite, using sqlite manager (add-on Firefox) help solve my problem (if it's really a question of catalog.pse14db)?

    Any ideas for me?

    Thank you!

    Michael Weinert

    Michel,

    I took a break.

Apart from that, I'm at a loss what to try next...

A few days before Pentecost, I resumed outages by install the trial version of Photoshop elements 13, conversion of catalog.pse12db into catalog.pse13db, from Photoshop elements 14.1 and transform this catalog.pse14db catalog.pse13db.

He has no problem now to import media files in this converted catalog.pse14db. I will continue using PSE14.1 with the converted catalog whatching to find errors.

I wonder why the repair function on the Catalog Manager solves this problem, and what will be the opinion of the team of Adobe.

    BTW

Import media files offer 'Get media' or 'Open' - what is the difference?

    Kind regards

    Michael

  • M60: Turns off after power loss

My M60 sometimes turns off immediately after unplugging the power supply (AC power or plug the laptop CC), instead of out on the battery even though the battery is fully charged.
The battery is OK & the laptop starts regularly on the battery after pressing the on switch.
The Toshiba Power Saver seems to work OK & I have the latest version of the BIOS.
I always save my work before unplugging, but again, I do not like this behavior & would appreciate some good advice.

    Hello

I agree with tom, and the device must be checked by the service. I think there is something wrong with electronic power supply. If the battery has only 20% of capacity by removing the AC adapter / CC unit should not stop.

I hope that you will find what is the problem.

Satellite M55 turns off by unplugging the power cable to unplug my laptop making rather that to the battery, my laptop will often simply turn off even though the battery is fully charged. Other time things work as it should.

I had the motherboard replaced for another reason and was quite surprised to notice the problem after a replacement (but without reinstalling OS).
The main suspect is the TPS and its pilot; A few months ago, a new version is released the Toshiba support site for M60 (although file dates are not fresh, and I think that I have installed this version earlier).

So, I removed the GST and the GST pilot. I tried several times and it didn't happen again. Not even when I reinstalled the.

During the test, I have disabled the HD write cache to avoid file corruption problems (but this slows down HD operation, particularly of hibernation).
I don't know if it works because also earlier the computer would be closed only occasionally, not all the time. But this may be a clue in case you have this problem. If you do, please test and report the result, no matter what the result is.

What to say dude. The problem is that this problem occurs ONLY occasionally and so it's not easy to find the real reason for these cases.

However, I would try to give some useful advice, but first of all, it would be useful to know how old your battery.
Fact is that batteries old and stressed loose clean performance very quickly.
My battery is about 3 years and my laptop running on battery for 10-20 seconds even if it s fully charged. The performance is simple very low!

On the other hand the problem could be related to faulty electronic power to the Board of Directors
As you can see it's not easy to tell what's exactly wrong and as already suggested in other threads (locked), you should ask a technician for a control of the laptop.
The guy could run diagnostics tests and can locate the fault.

    Best regards
