Installation of Windows XP on Satellite U300

I need to downgrade my laptop from vista to XP pro. After "slipstreaming" the new drivers sata in XP, I installed windows xp.

After installing all the drivers (and drivers from the chipset), I left two questionmarks. (other devices)
I really have no idea what are these two devices.
When I look in Device Manager it shows
-devices instance id: ACPI\TOS620A\2 & DABA3FF & 0
and the other shows the device:
PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_444E & SUBSYS_444E8086 & REV_01\4 5EDAD & 23F & 0 & 00E0

Any suggestions? Or new drivers for Windows XP Home Edition?

Hello

A question:

Have you installed all XP drivers such as mentioned in the installation instructions?

Installation instructions are on the page of the Toshiba driver. You must follow the order of installation.

By the way; the DABA3FF & ACPI\TOS620A\2 & 0 seem to be a driver of shock protection Toshiba HDD.
In my opinion, you can find it in the HDD Protection Utility.

However, the installation instructions should be cheeks and you should follow it!

    Hello

The SATA drivers are part of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
There are a lot of discussions on this subject.

I found these two Toshiba HowTo that describes step by step how to do:

+ How to integrate the AHCI driver during the installation of Windows XP.
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD9401AN0000R01.htm

+ How to integrate a SATA AHCI driver into a Windows XP Setup CD.

Seems the Satellite A200/S01 PSAF6A-06S01N belongs to the Australian series of Toshiba.
Drivers of this laptop are on the Toshiba on THE page but you can also download the Storage Manager Intel from the page of the European driver Toshiba or Intel page because the hardware is the same.

First of all, I put the disk it starts to load and say to support on enter to launch xp installation, R to repair windows or F2 to exit but when I press ENTER, nothing happens if I press R, it starts to look for windows in order to repair, but no windows system cannot be found because it s not been installed but know someone or have any good suggestions on how to get windows installed.

Any information would be most appreciated.

I could also just add that when the computer starts first and it s on the first boot of the bit with the Toshiba logo we have 2 options F2 and F12, none of them work when I press them and also when I pressed r in the window xp installation you should be able to type exit, and then enter to leave but some type of keys and some don't but be4 just broken hard drive it typed very well no problem, if it is the problem cos I can't press on enter how fist to solve the problem of keyboard?

  • Installation of Windows XP on Satellite Pro P200

    Hi guys,.

I have a problem installing Windows XP Home SP2 (listen Slip) edition in my new Satellite Pro P200 with 2-120 GB hard drives. The vehicle currently has windows vista professional. I followed this link to a similar question on this site: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2101&OS FullName = Windows * + XP + Professional & lang = eng & strOSs = 44 & submit = Go % 21 and created disk Intel Matrix Storage manager so that I could use "F6" to install the RAID drivers during the installation of XP.

I got to the point where I was able to recognize the hard drive and I was able to select the partition where I wanted to install WXP. Once the NTFS partition has been selected and formatted, Windows XP Home edition Setup prompted me to insert "Intel Matrix Storage" diskette into the A: drive. I have this drive in my floppy USB drive.

However he didn't even read the disc. Hard drive never turned on when I pressed the enter"" key. It seemed as if the installer froze, however I was able to push "F3" to exit the installation program. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? Is the USB problem?

    Help, please!

I hope someone can help me with the following story.

My Toshiba laptop (type Satellite C850 - 19(d), type found elsewhere on the Toshiba site) is that it crashed and won t from hard disk initialization. Now, I wanted to try to use a Windows recovery USB 8.1. I did this on the Windows site, but now I understand that before you need a product key that I don't have.

I then tried to make a Toshiba USB recovery (which I had already done so), but we don't know don't no where I can get this file for me.

Can someone help me with this?

  • Installation of Windows XP on Satellite L500

    Hi people,

I have Toshiba Satellite L500 model and you are currently running Windows 7. Now I want to install Windows XP on it, I checked that all the drivers are available on the Toshiba page.
So teach me how to install Xp successfully.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

If you want to install Xp on your computer, you must change the Sata controller in the Bios, Compatible, otherwise, you will encounter a blue screen during the installation. It is because of AHCI drivers after installation, you can download and install Storage Manager and return to AHCi mode in the Bios. You can also integrate them Windows disk.

    You can read here:

I tried to install Windows XP on my Satellite X 200-23 g, once I settled but that the Bureau saw... blue screen of death.
Error occurs and it went by restarting the cycle... so I installed VISTA de Deposito cd again.

Now when I try to install XP from other CD I have, it says hard drive not found press F3 to exit. s

Someone please enlighten me on this issue...
I need to install xp as my college progs and not compatible with vista.

    Hello

Your Windows installation does not see the HARD drive because the SATA drivers were not included in the XP installation CD.
The new generation of portable computers is equipped with a SATA HDD controller. But don t Win XP or Vista one pilot built-in SATA.

SO, you will need to download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. You will find the SATA drivers.
You can use nLite software. It of free and it will help you to create a new XP CD and include the SATA drivers. You can then use this new XP installation CD.

This Toshiba document could be useful.

  • Installation of Windows XP on Satellite Pro L300D-136

    Hello

I realize that this question is very similar to those posed elsewhere on these forums. I tried after the solutions proposed elsewhere but were unable to do anything at work.

I'm trying to install XP Pro on a Satellite Pro L300D 136, which is currently under Vista.

I tried to get into the BIOS and change SATA compatibility mode, but I still get a blue screen of death when booting from the installation disc. Reading elsewhere on the forums, that I understand that I have to use nlite to include drivers SATA on the installation CD, I'm not sure how to find out what drivers I need. Number of threads talking about MSM from Intel, but my machine has an AMD Athlon processor. Does make a difference? Where can I find the necessary drivers in the download section of Toshiba?

Thank you in advance for your help, this is the first time I tried to replace a windows with another OS...

    Yes, it makes a difference.

For laptops equipped with AMD processor (they don t have an Intel chipset) you need the display driver.
In the display driver package are the SATA drivers you need.
You can find it on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

  • Installation of Windows XP on Satellite L300 11G

    Hello

I have a problem installing windows XP on my Toshiba Satellite L300 11 G.

It does not recognize the SATA HDD. SO I downloaded the files that were needed (Intel storage...) and then I get an error: iaStor is corrupt. I'm pretty new in computing, so I don't know if I downloaded the right thing. Please if someone could guide me trough and give me a link to download the correct file.

And this message comes only if I can't choose the right driver when asked? Or is there something else that I do wrong...?

Help, please. I am trying to solve this problem for several days and I bought my laptop a few days ago and I need it for business. I would appreciate your help.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Sorry, but this error is unknown to me, but you shouldn't t be worried.
I think I know how solve you the problem.

You used the external floppy drive to install and register the SATA driver in the installation of XP. Am I wrong?

There is another way to include the SATA drivers.
You must download the freeware app called nLite. Google simply.
This software allows you to create a new XP CD and include the SATA disk in XP operating system.
Then you could boot from the XP CD again created and should be able to reinstall the system.

I have tested this tool and it works very well.

By the way; the Intel Matrix Storage Manager is available for download also from Intel and the Toshiba driver page page.

    Good bye

  • Installation of Windows ME on Satellite Pro L20

I need for the program to install windows Millennium Edition on my new laptop, but when he starts (during the installation procedure) search for devices it crushes and just stop.
What can I do? I tried to update the BIOS but still the same after.

I really put t know what you can do, but I really don t understand why you buy the laptop latest designed to the latest operating system available on the market and then try to use the older operating system. I hope you know that there is no support for older OS.

In my opinion, much better and cheaper option is to buy second hand laptop and install the earlier operating system. With more Ram, the older unit will run fantastic.

The second problem are the drivers and Toshiba tools that work well with me. Where you find them? You won't find them on the official download page of Toshiba.

In any case, good luck and I hope that someone already try to install ME on the same unit.

    Good bye

I installed it and it works fine. Device Manager shows all devices ok B-)

Once the installation is finished, there was some devices without drivers in Device Manager (Controller bluetooth, Ricoh memory stick-mmc-xD). I didn't install the last battery Bluetooth (which supports the W7) and activate the automatic installation of the windows update driver, and all devices are ok now

  • Installation of Windows XP on Satellite P200D-106

    Hello!

some application that I use Don t support windows vista so I decided to install xp and I understand that I don't have drivers for xp.

Is - any way to get it?

    Hello

Unfortunately there is no official driver of toshiba, so you're out of luck. You can now do the following:

    1. search in this forum for users who may have the same problem, that some of them already selected drivers hardware manufacturers (AMD, ATI, etc...)
    2. you can dig on your own in the WWW for pilots
    3. you can wait until toshiba releases some official drivers

Otherwise, I have no more options that I could offer you. I had the same problem with my Satellite A100 a few months ago, but they have released drivers for my machine and now everything works like a charm. :)

    Welcome them

  • Installation of Windows XP on Satellite A210-133 with success

I have read many topics related to this... and no simple and easy... but accessible, so, without other comment, that's what I did... install WinXP SP2 as on any other pc/laptop... It will display an error, (just click ok and let the installation continue).

When installing WXP is done, download the drivers from the first model which has the support of Windows XP Home edition, (they work for me) and install them manually. (Again, this works for me!) Simple as that!

Oh, almost forgot! It's http://209.167.114.38/support/Download/ln_byModel.asp where u get the drivers you need for your laptop computer series A!

  • Installation of Windows XP on Satellite A10 without CD/DVD drive

I want to reinstall windows xp on a Toshiba A10 and the CD Rom is dead...
I tried to reinstall it from a bootable usb key but I can't start it.

I was thinking this thing to boot LAN.
Can I install windows from a computer on the local network, and if i may, can someone explain or give me a tutorial or something?

How can I install windows from usb key?
Help me please I really need this to work.

    Hello

It seems that the BIOS does not support booting from the USB flash drive.
Boot from LAN is possible, but if you want to boot from LAN then you need a RIS server.

Here is a Guide not to not the remote installation of the Microsoft operating system
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb742378.aspx

But to be honest, I would recommend another method.

If you want to install Win XP on the HARD drive, then you must copy the folder i386 CD Win XP on HARD drive (you can remove the laptop HARD drive and could connect to the other computer by using the USB controller).
Then you should go to the i386 folder that you copied on the HARD drive and run the setup.exe or winnt.exe
The two exe file should launch the installation configuration.

    Welcome them
