Installation service Windows Vista stop working
I'm running a Dell XPS ONE 2010 with Vista Home Premium SP2 2009. About two years ago, I noticed that Windows Installer has stop working and I could not install Microsoft programs or uninstall most programs, was able to load 3rd programs like Turbotax, but could not uninstall them. I bought a Microsoft Expression Web software and had to pay MS $100 to load. MS uninstalled Office 2007, cleaned Windows, install Expression Web and reinstalled Office 2007. When Ms. Load Expression Web, they advised me to use Revo Uninstaller which may be required to work. because the normal MS uninstaller does not work I can not install any MS programs like the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor or other software from Ms. When installed MS Expression Web, they said that they could not fix the failure of the installer without a custom reinstall of Vista, I chose not to. Strangely, the MS Windows updates work fine.
Click Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator. Type (or copy the lines below and a blank line under and right click in the command prompt window and select Paste). This will start the dependent services in the correct order. Then activate it once started.

Windows Vista has stopped working error back in iTunes as soon as it reads in the first track when importing CD and must close the program (APPCRASH). I uninstalled and reinstalled a newer version of iTunes (currently empty) several times. Also, ran the CD diagnostics in iTunes and seems OK. I'm on Vista Home Premium Edition. If it helps, I saved the CD Diagnostics in ITunes and the Windows APPCRASH info. I spend several hours of research and try to understand it. Any ideas?
Thank you for your response. I actually solved this suddenly. I've had my laptop plugged into a port replicator to access devices. I decided to try to unplug, restart and try again. It worked! Do not know why the replicator program caused crash but it seems to work...

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
original title: Windows Vista Ugh.
I have Windows Vista Home Premium on a laptop Gateway. I get the installer of Modules of Windows has stopped working and has been the error message closed as well as the configuration 3 of 3 0% starting upwards. Thank God the restart of death cycle is no longer happens, but it always appears when I restart/start my computer. I have tried almost everything that I found online to fix this, and yet I still have these questions. I can not install updates to Windows due to the fault of the Windows Modules Installer every 3 minutes and I can't install SP2 even when I tried the 64 bit version of stand alone for my computer. I literally a novel of installs failed in my history of windows because of this update and I constantly receive error messages when you try to install the update SP2 failed. I don't know what else to try now that I tried the system restore, and none of the dates are far enough for these errors go away. Help, please.
