  • The Windows Installer can't find hips_cc.msi

When I log on my Win XP PC Windows install comes up that tries to install a program in non-descript and says that it can't find hips_cc.msi

I'm trying to cancel it, but in the habit of Cancel. In the meantime, XP starts and seems to work OK until I'm going to install a program. When I do this Setup program Windows said I can't install it because another installation is in progress and complete the installation and restart the installation again later. I can't because I can't access through my office windows installer. Then when I go to shut down my PC, it used to close because Windows Installer is still looking for this bloody file! hips_ss.msi!

I hope you can come up with an answer to save me to do a complete reinstallation of Windows

    Hi Doug,.

I'm sorry to know you face issues with your computer. Your description, it seems like you get a hips_cc.msi error when you log on to your Windows XP computer.

This file seems related to the CA antivirus program. You have this program installed on your computer?

If so, the program works is perhaps not as expected. I suggest that you even uninstall it and reinstall it. You can also contact CA support for the same thing.

See also this article on how to uninstall a program from your computer.

If it does not, then answer with the State for we can help you troubleshoot further.

  • TurboCAD Pro 14.2 fails to install because Windows Installer problem.

    Problem installing Windows

I TurboCAD Pro 14.2 and I was forced to get a new key of Activation of IMSI, as I have lost the original.  After with the new key of Activation Windows Installer contains TurboCAD for about half an hour before I give myself the opportunity to cancel the installation program or continue with it.  Only when I opt to cancel TurboCAD works.  I tried to run Microsoft Fix - it, which tells me that there is nothing wrong with what on the system, and I tried to remove and reinstall the program does not.  Also, I spent about two weeks of work, by electronic mail, with the team of the IMSI and beyond them telling me to use a utility windows install cleanup which no longer exists, nothing materialized.  I am running Windows XP SP 3; can someone help me with this? All constructive comments will be appreciated: thank you.

For all those who have offered suggestions that I found the answer.  It seems that the whole problem is the consequence of a file named SetPdb14Pro.  I found the file among those on my Add/Remove panel.  Once I removed it the package worked without a hitch and it did not return because I now use my original password installation discs and activation code.  Here is a month lost because I don't watch carefully before I made a leap.

  • I have Windows xp, how to remove or delete a contextual area about the Windows Installer which appears unwsolicited when I open Internet Explorer

Boxc contextual of Windows Explorer is displayed when I open Internet Explorer... it does not cancel - runs a secondary Windows Installer box.   I have to go through the process to attempt to cancel the boxes about 3 times before finally disappears and allows me to use my browser.

    Hi LeonCollins,

    1. What is the full error message you get?

2 this only happens with Internet Explorer, or when opening other programs?

You can try these steps and see if it helps.

Method 1: Reregister the Installer engine.

    a. Click Start, click Run and then type cmd in the dialog box, and then click command prompt.

    b. at the command prompt, type the following and press ENTER after each line:

    MSIExec /Unregister

    MSIExec/regserver

Method 2: Check your version of Windows Installer and upgrade to the latest version if it is needed.

    a. Click Start, type cmd in the search box or click Run then type services.msc in the dialog box and then press ENTER to open a command prompt window.

    b. at the command prompt, type MSIExec and then press ENTER. If the MSI engine works, there should be no error message, and should open a separate dialog box. This shows the MSI version.

If the version of the installer is not version 4.5, see the following article in the Knowledge Base Microsoft for more information and a link to download Windows install 4.5:

942288 Windows Installer 4.5 is available

Try to install or to uninstall again.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • opening Windows Installer when you surf the web

When I'm on the web, I get the Windows Installer opens and asks me to install Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1Professional. When I hit Cancel it opens up to 3 times more. When I install, it ask me for a disk and then moved. This is my desktop computer and there is no disc. How to stop trying to install it.  This is not the case in all open programs just for browsing the web. A specific site iswww.apple.com/trailers among others. It gives me an error 1706 when I click Cancel because I do not have a disk.

    Hello

Try for MS Office repair option. Start-> settings-> Control Panel-> Add Remove Programs-> search for Microsoft Office 2000-> select Change-> Select reinstall. Once your installation is complete, start Excel and allow to set. Once this is done, the problem should be solved. Try and post back... You will need MS Office installation disc.

Also check if you use Outlook and its configured correctly, can also try Internet explorer-> tools-> Internet sealing-> programs-> Email, new group and calendar... Try selecting different if you have not installed Outlook.

  • The Windows Installer appears when not claimed after you install the new printer.

I installed a Canon S400 printer and now when I open a folder, file or no matter what shortcut (either by double clicking or right click Open) MSI is trying to install one of the two applications PDF I had already installed. After canceling the installation program, the file opens. How can I fix? I am running Windows XP SP2. Please do not say reinstall applications, I have uninstalled them because they proved to be useless junk.

  • Windows Installer during the boot

Whenever I start my laptop, I get a message saying "Windows Installer - preparing to install.  He then proceeds to install the so-called TrayApp because the next message I get will say "Please wait while Windows configures TrayApp".  If I do nothing, he just keeps restarting and never goes beyond this point.  If I cancel, he tried the same thing with the following: C4580 HP product Assistant, MarketResearch, HP Photosmart Essential and then status.

Cancellation of each of them does not solve the problem because it will start all over.  Then after that I canceled for about 3 minutes, it stops.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 running Windows Vista SP 2.

    Dave1313,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

This looks like an application custom HP who keeps trying to install it, but never finished, so he keeps trying every time you start.  It could have bad install due to your security software or settings, or the installation file could be corrupted.  You can try to understand why it is not install and help to complete the installation, or you can just stop it trying to install.

To stop it trying to install:
To start the configuration system (msconfig) utility:
Click Start and type msconfig in the box start the search.
In the section programs, click Msconfig.exe.
On the Startup tab, you will find the application that keeps trying to start and uncheck the box next to it.  It comes out the startup so it will run each time Windows starts.

  • Windows Installer... preparing for installation... to start

When I start windows I get a message saying that windows installer preparing to install... it comes with the option to cancel. Then she disappears after a few seconds.

It is still, however, whether he appears and if I said to cancel or not, I can't install any programs (I am trying to install itunes 9 so I can sync my new iPhone)... because it says I am already trying to install something and must cancel this first.

So I can not download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup program, I often hear. How can I know what automatically attempts to install every time I turn on and cancel, remove or remove the interference of files or programs.

    Any help is greatly appreciated,

    See you soon,.
