Installing a cd game

Hello all: I've recently upgraded to windows 7 Home premium to windows xp. I have a problem installing cd games. When I insert the disc, I end up getting this message. The process of tevminate the entry point of procedure not found in the library of links Dynamics kernel32.dll file. Anyone know what this means? I tried to reinstall kernel32.dll and it still doesn't work. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this I sure would appreciate it. Beatrice

Hi Micram,

You receive this error message only with the game CD?

You can check this by inserting any CD/DVD in the drive.

Scan SFC (System File Checker) on your computer and check if the problem persists: link, please refer to: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

  • Try to install the old game of window 95 on my windows 7...

I have an old windows 95 game called Shivers.  I would like to install on my windows 7, I have home premium.

I tried a lot of things.
I tried to click with the right button on setup.exe/properties and making it compatible with different versions, also tried to have windows try and do it for me.
When I try first to install the game I get the error, not compatible with the 64-bit version.
After fiddling around, it seems now that the game will start to install, the screen resolution goes down and I get a black window, as I have had with other games when they begin to install.  However then goes black screen and I have nothing :(
I do not so much, but I've been looking for this game for a long time, I finally found and bought without thinking that he would not be able to run on my system...
I'm pretty OK with the computer, but when someone answers I need much instruction step by step please.
    Thank you

    (1) it is a 16-bit game and does not work on 64-bit Windows. Reported, it installs and runs with a few minor adjustments * 32-bit XP, Vista and Windows 7 (* compatibility setting: Windows 95, ignore any request for 'system test', set your screen resolution, etc..).

    (2) it MAY be that even a BACK emulator fails to run it because it uses a Sierra-own game engine (SCI) that must be supported, too. It is not included in the list of compatibility of DosBox, and it comes in the ScummVM forums (another emulator BACK) as "pending".

    (3) as a last resort, you can try to install & run the game in a virtual machine. If you have any disk installation for Win 3.1 or Windows 95, the virtual machine would allow you to play the game in the environment he has created. Windows 7 Professional allows you to download a free version of Windows XP Professional SP3 to work with Windows Virtual PC, but use a VM free as MS Virtual PC 2007, VirtualBox, etc. is certainly less expensive (even if you can buy a copy of Win 3.1 or 95).

  • How to allow standard users to install and run games?

I want to enable a standard to install and run games and such user account but I keep getting guests for an admin password, I tried to disable UAC, but I'm now just get guests who say that the administrator can install only. I would like to be able to do this without having to turn off UAC.

You must have administrator rights to install anything, period.  Trying to allow standard users just did, it's as if we were trying to be a little bit pregnant. :-)

  • I installed a new game for Pc windows 7 & I got the support of the United Nations, is at - it software to install to run all the games correctly?

I installed a new game for Pc windows 7 & I got the support of the United Nations, is at - it software to install to run all the games correctly?

All games (or programs) are compatible with Windows 7. See the Web site of the Publisher of games for compatibility information.

Windows 7 has compatibility mode that peuvent leave some older games that would be otherwise incompatible for work. Please see:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows .

Very old games can contain 16 cold bits that will not work if you have 64-bit Windows 7 without Virtualization software.

What is the name of the game?

    Are you using windows 7 32 or 64-Bit? *

    * To see if you're running 32-bit or 64-Bit Windows click:

    Start-> Control Panel-> system

Then look at where it says, "System Type".

  • CD-ROM drive does not work after installing a new game

    Problem with CD-ROM!

Hello, before a few months my cd-rom doesn't work properly, one of these days, I decided to install the new game, and it shows that my cd-rom will not read the disc!
OK, I thought: Maby the cd is damaged in anyway so I'll put another cd to see if the problem persists, I had a new cd empty and rolled on the cd-rom and waited but nothing showed... I searched some tips on this problem and here's what I did:
    1. clean the pc with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Norton.
    2. re-installed CD-ROM drive (HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT30N)
3 downloaded Fixit and troubleshooted CD with it, it says that the disc was not readable, anyway I know it's readable!
    4. download CDCheck and checked the E: pilot, it is what comes out of http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/8175/48433351.jpg

I don't know what to do next, but after trying it, I think it's a hardware problem.
If this can help I am running Windows 7 Home premium x 64 on a laptop.
What can I do to fix this?

  • Cannot install the gamehouse games

my game installer will be is more to connect to file or let me review, displays a box to install and then I can't do anything with it.  I noticed less than full use with other programs to install the game also.  Maybe I deleted something vital? Help

    Hi deebur,

After looking at the site GameHouse, the only information I gleaned was to temporarily disable the firewall.  If you are using Windows Firewall, go to control panel, security, firewall Windows. Select enable the Windows Firewall or disable. Select disabled.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Then try to install the game GameHouse.  Once tested, then return to the Windows Firewall setting and turn on the firewall. If you are using another firewall, turn off in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

    Another possibility to try:
    -Reset Internet Explorer or Firefox
To reset IE, go to tools, Internet Options, click the Advanced tab. Click the button below to reset.  This will remove all temporary files, disables add-ons, and resets all the changed settings.

I don't know if it will help your problem or not. I would like to make a system restore point, then you can return to this point before continuing the troubleshooting steps.  I would also say that you try to uninstall the game GameHouse before using the steps above.

If please post again and let us know if these measures have helped to solve your problem or you need help.

    Sincerely, Marilyn

  • I have problems to install MSN Zone games.

    From: Choppa

Someone else had problems playing games of www.zone.msn.com?  Given that I put Vista on I can't play one of their games free online.  He begins the game Installer, made up a box asking me to hit the continue button (which I do) and then he said: 'Oops, we don't have install your game.  This happens with all games and seems to be a security setting, but I allowed and turned my safety down, but nothing helped.  Any ideas?

    From: Spot

You are using Vista or XP? I was able to enter the area games very well under XP with IE7, but in Vista RC1, I have problems as well. So far, I've tried adding msn.com to trusted sites, allowed to jump - rises and msn.com cookies AND run IE7 as administrator to see if this might help with the installation. It froze to the advirtisements before the game for about 3-4 minutes, but seems to work fine now.

  • call of duty 6, I installed and the game is choppy... help me please if you can ty... _

Why is my jerky game I am running windows 7 whitch is classified in the specifications compatible if you can help I'll b very grateful...

    gajie and jackson369,
First thing to check is your hardware drivers.  Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for all of your hardware (video, audio, NIC, chipset, etc...).  If you still have a problem then perform a clean boot to verify that no other software is in conflict with the game.  You can also try to lower the video settings in the game and see if it improves it.    Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Cannot install ANY video game on Windows 7 (and other problems) _

No more than 5 MINUTES after starting my new desktop computer the first time, I started having these problems:

    (1) when I try to install a game, I get an error message that says "cannot continue the installation. SAMPLE.exe file missing. "Soon after, a message in the lower right corner will slide upward, saying 'virus Trojan in SAMPLE.exe. The file has been quarantined. When I disable the antivirus software, I can install the game but I can't run it. It hangs after 5 minutes, and then a box pop up appears and says "cannot find the file SAMPLE.exe.

All the video games I've tried to install are compatible with windows 7.

    (2) when I try to make changes to programs or certain parameters, a box pop up appears and says "You must be logged in as Administrator", when I am logged on as administrator.

    (3) Windows 7 will reorganize randomly my desktop icons.

    (4) Windows Explorer starts that it self.

    (5) sometimes programs will not download to the location I specified. He decided to put it somewhere else.

    panicballoon,
I agree with KSib, that having these types of problems right out of the box is ridiculous.  I recommend you contact the PC manufacturer for warranty support to get this corrected. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Trouble installing an older game

I have a longer game that I am trying to install, but I get an "unsupported 16 - bit application" error message: "the program or the function cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit Windows versions. Contact the software vendor to ask if there is a version compatible with windows 64-bit. »

Is that what I can do to get this game to play/install on my computer?

    Hello Tasha00,

Thank you for the feedback.  I have a last option.  You can try to install Virtual PC on your computer.  This will allow you to run another version of Windows on your desktop.  With that you can then install the game in the Windows Virtual PC and run it without any problems.  You will need to have a copy of what ever version of Windows that you want to load on Virtual PC.  For example, you can install Windows XP in Virtual PC, then install the game on Windows XP and run perfectly.  I have included the link below to download Virtual PC 2007.
