  I am looking for oracle 11 g R2 installation for my personal use on my computer windows vista laptop. Kindly advice from where I can download and install the same.
  Also, I heard a necessity to check if its system is 32 or 64 bit for compatibility.

  As indicated in the Installation Guide, Vista Home edition only is not supported. If you cannot use Win XP, your best bet is to install Oracle VM (free downloadable on http://edelivery.oracle.com/oraclevm), then install Oracle Enterprise Linux (free downloadable on http://edelivery.oracle.com/linux), then install your software GR 11, 2 in the OEL VM. Use Google to search for articles that document installation all these pieces of software.

  Another option would be to switch to Win 7 Professional, enterprise or Ultimate editions. See the Installation Guide link I posted above.

  I am struggling to install oracle 10g on my windows operating system 7. I run the installer mode compatible windows xp. After the installation at the time of the creation of the database, it displays the error-
  ORA - denied 12546:TNS:permission
  and database creation will fail... I am logged on as administrator... I am really tapped, decommissioning of my XP os seems to be the only way out.i don't want to do that... If not possible, please suggest the version of oracle compatible with win7.

  It is not compatible with Windows 7. Try the Vista compatibility mode.

  Now doubt I have is there is database file in each folder two, then is necessary to copy and paste the second directory database file I, e * 'E:\Oracle 11 g setup\win64_11gR2_database_2of2' * in the first directory... to continue the installation?

  11.2 is supported on versions of OS and minimum levels:
  Windows XP
  Windows 7
  Windows Vista
  Windows 2003
  Windows 2003 R2
  Windows 2008
  Windows 2008 R2

  Please unzip the files in the same folder
  When you unpack the first zip, it will create the database file, decompress it when a second, he will place the files in the existing database folder

  In 10g companion CD contains various products such as UltraSearch. These products are expected to be installed in the current DB 10 g host only. While installing 10G companion CD, you have 3 options, one to install in the same House and other 2 install in separate House. One of the other 2 is to install 10g DB Express.

  I am using a computer hp laptop with Vista Home Basic preinstalled. I had it demoted xp - pro and tried to install oracle10g and oracle 8, but none of them succeeded. When I click on the file setup.exe, the process does not start. in fact, I have observed in the Manager tasks that the setup.exe file is included once I start the installation, but within one or two seconds, the process ends automatically.   No, don't remove anything yet :). You can change your tnsnames.ora entry and change the port to 1521 by 1522 and give it a try.

  Also how many times you have oracle database?

  You can go to the control panel-->---> services--> and loook for the administration tools (for example the oracleServiceORCL and the like if everything) and for the listener something like this OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListener. You can always delete old listner using netcca. You can see under (for example C:\Oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\orcl\bdump\alert... Log in to the file of the error messages or post here the last 20 lines of alert.log.

  I guess the z: drive letter you are trying to install the software from a network drive. Try to copy the Setup program on a local drive and install from there. I had problems calling installers directly from network resources in Vista.
