Integration: Jabber with VCSC

Hi experts,

I'm new in the world of telepresence and I will install into a new customer a solution with VCSC, TMS and MCU.

The customer already has a CUCM with Jabber and they want to deploy the Jabber with VCSC, they want that, for example, a Manager actually a video conference with other offices through your Ipad with Jabber

I have not found a document with this configuration, can someone help me with the documentation of this integration?

With their experience of telepresence, including the complexity of this integration? Can give me of highlights and key points of this integration?

In addition to what Alok suggested, there are other things, you should consider:

  • The version of the recommended software is CallManager 8.6.2 and later (you can try 8.5.1, but there is no support BFCP)
  • It must integrate CallManager and VCS by following this document:

  • To enable content sharing between registered in CUCM Jabber and the end point registered in VCS, make sure that your Jabber in CUCM devices have a SIP profile with BFCP protocol enabled, as well as the setting "Allow presentation sharing via BFCP" set to allow.
  • If you want to schedule conferences in MSDS for the Jabber in CUCM, you can add them to TMS as a 'room '. By using this option, you will be able to plan the Conference and the calendar control (it's better than using the Participant model)
  • About the phone book, you might have some problems. If your devices registered in VCS use device with an alphanumeric URI address, for example [email protected] / * /, you will not be able to add this contact to Jabber clients registered with CUCM, alphanumeric once is not supported. A solution would use only digital device address for all devices. About Jabber for Telepresence, you can define directories using TMS, in this case, you can add contacts without problem, either using a digital or non-digital address.
  • If you have endpoints another enrolled in CUCM who will call the end points registered in VCS, make sure your devices are running compatible software versions, mainly the videophones. It is strongly recommended to use the latest version of the software.
  • Be aware that Jabber for Telepresence doesn't support Instant Messaging, as the common Jabber support with presence server

    Option A: I try through Jabber video (Internet)-> VCSE-> TraversalZone-> VCSC-> SIP Trunk-> CUCM-> Jabber for windows, acutally, there isn't any configuration required in VCSE/VCSC/CUCM, because when you dial [email protected] / * /, the VCSE will route the call to the VCSC and then it will move the call to CUCM, but I couldn't get to this subject, the logging of the VCSC He always showed in the message below:

    1. received VCSC VCSE SIP protocol prompt, call [email protected] / * /

    2 VCSC answered VCSE SIP 407 Proxy authentication required.

    3 VCSE answered the VCSC SIP ACK

    I don't know what is the problem here, or additional configuration required, but the call to certainly VCSC already, but I don't know what is the way of the authentication of 407 proxy here... If the Jabber (Internet) Video-> VCSE->-> Video (Intrante) Jabber VCSC, it isn't this 407 proxy authentication in logging.

    Option b: I'm going through Jabber video (Internet)-> VCSE-> SIP Trunk-> CUCM-> Jabber for windows, with the rule of necessary research, in this way, when Jabber (internet Video) composition Jabber for windows, it sounds, and when picked up, one way audio (from Jabber for windows to Jabber video) set up, no video.

    It is normally an authentication problem. I think that you run a software X7.x on your SPRDD? If so, try to activate "treat as authenticated" on the crossing area 'Authentication policy' (both directions, if it is set to "do not verify the credentials") and see if you get the P - asserted-Identity "authenticated" a header then and make a call from the internet, routed throug the VCS - c to your CUCM.

    Are your rules of research on the VCS - c, the value "request must be authenticated = Yes"?

  • Cisco Jabber with VCS

    I VCSC and TMS in the network, there are of the endpoints configured with SIP and H323. VCSC are not in the field.

    Now we have to enter Cisco Jabber with the VCSC. What are prerequisites them?

    First it requires license for Cisco Jabber on VCSC?

    We need to join the VCSC domain?

    Yes, you will still be able to authenticate users JabberVideo locally, 'right', you won't be able to use NTLM.

    If you need drivers, follow these steps:
    1. in search of charms bar type devmgmt.msc. Select the file resulted in the left pane. This opens the Device Manager.
    2 unknown devices would be listed as such and plotted with a yellow question mark.
    3. Select the unknown device or any other device you need of drivers and right-click to access the properties.
    4. in the Properties window, click the Details tab and select Device Instance of Id or hardware ID from the drop-down.
    5. an alphanumeric string, like this DEV_7130 & PCI\VEN_1217 & SUBSYS_012F1025 & REV_01\4 & 6B16D5B & 0 & 33F0 is the marker for the identification of the unit.
    6. Please provide this number so we can offer you the appropriate driver.

    I'm looking for a Solution to video conference for approximately 4000 employees. Currently the customer uses Cisco's Jabber for video calls from point to point. The main requirement is Ad - Hoc videoconferencing by any employee at any time. I looked at both meeting of Cisco and Cisco TelePresence Server server. The two solution requires more or licenses more pluralistic multi-party Personal shared. The customer won't buy a PMP license for each user. Their requirement is multimedia resources shared so that any employee can initiate an ad hoc conference.

    Now the question is: can we use Cisco Jabber with multiparty licensing shared?

    Yes, it is quite possible.

    The only singularity is with PMP + which applied slightly differently than the head of the Orchestra/vTS. This does not seem to match your use case since you intend to buy only SMP licenses +. From version 2.0 (1) CMS, PMP + licenses - which are less expensive than SMP + - use only if: a) the space belongs to a LDAP user with a PMP + license for which they are responsible; or (b) If a user LDAP with PMP + assigned to them joins the Cisco meeting App space as an authenticated user. In all other scenarios, including ad-hoc escalation with CUCM licensed SMP + is consumed. This is different from that of head of the Orchestra/vTS, which were also able to understand the right to the user for ad-hoc calls.

    Hi Martin,

    From Jabber comments 10.0, only #3 above is supported. However, we will publish JG 10.5 soon (I hope that in the next few months), and it will support all 3 of your above use cases. The only downside is to use #1 and #2 cases, you have a CUCM in the call flow.

  • Authenticate the accounts of Movi (Jabber) with LDAP/AD

    Condition: I have a setup of TMS-control-Expressway (VCS are x7.0.2, TMS is at 13.1.2).) Commissioning is good in all areas (manually created Movi accounts are correctly identifying you and calling functions are good). In the start-up directory, I have the root directory. In the root directory, I have 6 Movi accounts created manually as well as 6 subdirectories. I installed each subdirectory with a Base DN and DN (each subdirectory has a different Relative DN).

    Result: Each subdirectory is to import users AD it was supposed - and all areas that fall under each user Movi is populate correctly (email, title etc etc). The only area that is not filling (and should be grayed out/disabled) is the password field. This field has a default password for each user. In addition, the password field - meaning that it can be changed right there in the provisioning of TMS directory. The search AD to autheticate password is obviously not the case. FYI, if the Movi user uses their username (domainsername) AD and the password entered manually, Movi makes login.

    Attempt of high school: I also went in the control VCS vcs configuration > authentication > devices > Search AD and filled in the fields (to add the VCS control to the field). I also made sure authetication on VCS is set to 'local database', but the "auto" value on the challenges of the NTLM protocol.

    It doesn't change anything. MOVI users opening a session cannot use his AD password.

    Yes, it should work. I see no problem with keeping the subfield of "treat as authenticated.  Again the subzone is where any request for 'registration' will pass through including your presence and your phonebook.

    the initial Setup subscribe for MOVI/Jabber is still going through the default zone which, in your case, will be challenged for credentials.

    Try it out and if face you any problem then post here.

    For non-free... I quoted this solution 2 - 3 times to customers, it is an implementation several thousands of dollars. OneSaas would be the best solution (if you're on a budget) unless he didn't fit your needs or you need more control and improve security.

    Yes, it is a little. There is an application called AutoVue. A few annotations can be made in I / PM (WebCenter Imaging) and a few annotations can be made of OnTrack (will be part of WebCenter Contact). The last two belong to the WebCenter family, then I'd go with one of these suites you best.
    One bad side: you will most likely lose the existing annotations - or you would have to "migrate", which could be very difficult.

    Question 3: Is there an equivalent API to display the Annotations?

    Depending on the product, there will be the API. I guess that the options will be confused - some Java API and other web services.

    We have a requirement where we need to integrate Suite(10g/11g) E-Business Suite SOA (11 g). The transaction will trigger E-business (saying the creation of the new client or update the existing customer) and will pass through SOA to the target system. Now the real question, which is what should be the design of integration between E-business Suite and SOA? We will use Queuing concept where the E - Business Suite data is queued and SOA AQ or OA adapter used to retrieve the data and send it to the target system or E-Business suite inserts data into the database and we use adapter DB based on condition of survey DB and go look up new records and forward them to the system target?
    Please mention the performance against the design. Also if you have any other best suggestion for integration, feel free to write.

    Even in AQ, when persistent messages are queued, they are stored in the database tables. From my point of view, using the adaptor DB so makes sense. A negative on the DB adapter is that it is tightly integrated with the table structure > so any change in the structure of the tables can lead to the regeneration of the associated documents (WSDL files, schemas, etc.)

    QA is that you was mentinoed may be persistent in a database, but could be tuned for pooling they are created to share. I think that goes for the queue is a better and standard approach that would deal with the dequeing and all operations of a queue to go re implimentation of the complexities of a queue, if any.

    You are the very welcome.

    You should be able to use the Vista driver for the audio of your laptop support page, or be connected to the internet, click the multimedia audio controller requiring driver, click on the driver tab, click on update driver then Auto search.  Windows Update should find, download and install an audio driver.  It may take awhile for windows search, so be patient until it installs a driver or reports that he manages.

    Same for ethernet, but you can also try the W7 ethernet driver directly from Intel...

  • Correct your integration broken with headphones!

    Any planetronics or headset jabra that now has the controls done crazy things when you try to answer a call with the headset key.

    Skype keeps hanging where crashes top or any number of other permutations.

    Please fix this so that it works they way it used to, or give a better API that works reliably for implementing these helmet manufacturers.

    As I said, it's a bug in Skype API, ranging from 6.22 - 7.0 and should be fixed in version 7.1.

    Hello, all!  I'm new here, let me so see how this happens.  I have a Dell E6400, with a built-in camera, what I just installed Windows 7 on.  I can see that the driver is loaded according to the Device Manager, but I cannot use the camera.  The camera is supposed to be manufactured by Creative Labs, and I don't see anything on their website regarding this.  Can someone please give me any suggestions as to where I can get the software, hopefully without additional costs, to be able to use my camera, since I upgraded to Windows 7?  Is there a special CD or something I need to get (purchase) directly from Dell?  Any help would be appreciated to greately.  Thank you.

  • Problem with integration Outlook with BES blackBerry Smartphones

    I have Outlook 2003 and my storm through a BES. Now all my folders appear on the Blackberry (with the exception of air currents), but only records that really sync are the Inbox and sent folders. Some folders to synchronize some of the information but nt all this. Any suggestions to get the sync process to go smoother?

    In addition, if the rules are made in Outlook for emails to shoot in a particular folder on reception, why don't these rules translate on the storm/BES?

    The drafts folder is not synchronize on a BlackBerry.

    If you go under Messages | Options | Email settings | Folder redirection, you can develop your mailbox and see if all the folders you want to synchronize is checked.

    The rules should be translated if you configure the folder redirection, as described above. Unless the folder redirection was the installation until you have activated, you will see new emails as redirected by outlook rule. When e-mails redirected by a rule Outlook icon next to these e-mails looks like a blue/gray folder instead of the icon normal envelope.
