Intermittent connection on turn on the wireless.

My family has a wireless router for our internet connection. The computer is connected to the router via a wire has no problem with the internet. Yet, do all our wireless laptops. All wireless computers will shut off every so often to the internet and state that there is no connection. After a few seconds, our network will pop up and we can reconnect. Our router is only a few months and we've only begun to encounter these problems in the last month. What would make this and how then I solve this problem?

Mine that followed the temporary intervention when I turned on my microwave. Have you started using or moved all domestic electric elements (or router) in the last month?

    Hello

    Please contact Microsoft Community.

1 have you checked the State of the wireless autoconfiguration WLAN service in the services window?
    2. do you have any security software installed on the computer?
    3. have you made changes on the computer recently?

We will first try to manually start the wireless service, i.e. the WLAN AutoConfig service. To do this, connect to the computer as an administrator.
    1. Click Start, type services.msc and press to enter.
    2. Locate the autoconfiguration WLAN service, double-click to open its properties window.
    3. on the general tab, change the startup type to automatic and click on the Start button.
    4. click on apply, then ok.

Try to connect to the wireless connection and check the result.

If the service still does not start, run the System File Checker tool to scan the computer for the corrupt system files and automatically correct. To run a sfc scan, try the steps mentioned in this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833

Is there a setting that allows me to turn on the wireless?

  • Satellite L600: How can I turn off the Wireless Communication switch?

Hello! Would be very grateful for any help... After struggling for 3 months that I finally registered here in the hope of getting help.

    I have a new Satellite L600 / Win7 Home Premium.
My question is that I don't know where the wireless switch is to turn off COMPLETELY wireless.

Whenever I start the wireless (orange) light turns on automatically.
I have to wait until finish and turn off manually by Fn + F8.

When I opened ConfigFree (or doctor of connectivity), the diagnosis on the left bottom says [STATUS"switch of Wireless Communication: WE]
This tells me that the main switch is somehow always THERE.

Twice I called Toshiba and they couldn't find it either.
They said that the new versions of the BIOS does not...? And for this model, there is no physical switch built on the PC itself.

I have looked everywhere and did the following:

    (1) disable the adapter in Device Manager.
    (2) in HWSetup, where there used to be an option to click on the switch wireless off, he's gone.
    (3) I went into the BIOS setup and could find nothing remotely related to without wireless/bluetooth to switch.

I wonder why there is a wireless laptop with light permanently? But if it is enabled, there must be a way to turn it off. Press Fn + F8 every time at startup is not a long-term solution because the risk is that I'll forget someday).

My last laptop was hacked until it's an absolute priority that I know how to disable all wireless functions. So even if I have to do through the commands, I'll try it. In addition, I do not know if anyone else experience the same thing with this model, or is it a default of my particular PC?

Any help or even experience will be much appreciated, thank you.

I disabled the card in the Device Manager.

When I opened ConfigFree, connectivity doctor tells me the Wireless Communication switch: WE

    > My question is that I cannot find where the wireless switch is to turn off COMPLETELY wireless.

There is no hardware switch that would allow to enable or disable the WiFi network.
WLan can be turned on and off using the FN + F8 key combination.

    > When I open ConfigFree (or doctor of connectivity), the diagnosis on the left bottom says STATUS\ ' Wireless Communication switch: on it tells me the main switch is somehow always WE.

What is the status of the WLAN if you check in network connections?
The WiFi network is always on?
If not then the WiFi connection turned off and I wouldn't be worried by the fact that ConfigFree says that it s THERE.

Of course, you can disable the wireless network adapter in Device Manager. Just mark the Wlan card under network adapters and turn off your device. But believe me; It s enough to do using FN + F8 ;)

  • laptop HP 15-d059nr: accidentally turned off the wireless

I use the hotspot from my cell plan to run internet on the laptop.  When I turned on having the computer recently, the wireless icon has been replaced by an icon of Wired. Apparently, I turned off the wireless without knowing it because of my typing skills botched? I went through everything I know how to handle to retrieve it, but can only use the internet with my phone plugged into the computer.  Any help you offer is much appreciated. I found the manual online to fill with the obvious...

I gave in and doesn't have an updated system. I hesitated because of the number of items that would be removed, but did not find the solution easy here I did anyway. It would seem that the updates that have been installed recently was the culprit that after completing the update and reboot the system, my wireless icon is back and I can again connect to the internet via hotspot on my cell phone. Thanks anyway.

  • How could I give priority to my network connections, (without turning off the strap attached, as it took), so that it uses the internet from my main network connection?

    Prioritize network connections

    OK, here's the situation.
I have a regular ethernet connection that provides me with a network and the internet.
I have also a tablet PC which I attach to my PC so I can use it as a controller. (Not that it is important, but it's for a DAW/Midi controller)

My problem is that whenever I place my tablet, PC starts by ignoring my normal connection and taking the internet from my Tablet (even when it is not connected to the internet). As a result, my internet is de-energized once I tie it, if I'm not as under the wifi on my tablet.

My question is, how could I give priority to my network connections, (without turning off the strap attached, as it took), so that it uses the internet from my main network connection?

  • Cannot connect wireless or even turn on the wireless "switch" on my computer

I recently installed a copy of Windows 7 Professional, yet the installation, I couldn't have the wireless network to connect to what either.  The first thing I noticed was that my wireless button (which is a touchscreen as a device on the top of my keyboard) was not on, can I turn it on, or do I not have the fn + f2 option.

My computer is a HP Elitebook 8440p and regardless of what precedes, I proceeded to install drivers wireless on HP support site, they had to choose some and I ended up trying 3 which did not work.  I found a page of networking which showed these drivers wireless with a connection of sorts but closer examination revealed that the problem lied with simply turn on my wireless switch.

LAN works fine (I'm here now) and the wireless switch control active if I turn on my any and hit him (orane to blue towers), but otherwise, I am astonished.  I don't think that the router is the problem, but it is a 'Fast' model... that's all I know at this point, although I'll try to find the type of exact model if its important.

I think it's information pertienent, thank you for any help you can provide!

My computer shows management I installed the drivers...

In fact, I found the answer (I hope help you someone else with your post if the time is not lost)

My wireless is fine, it turns off when I plug my ethernet cable.

    Appreciate the answer however.

  • Satellite A30-104: WLan not available - I turn on the wireless network card

I have a Toshiba Satellite A30-104 with an inprocomm ipn2220 built in wireless card. The problem I'm having is that when I get a network says its not available and asks me to turn it on.

The driver is installed for the card, the switch for the wireless is set on you and I pressed FN & F8 and yet led remains off and nothing happens.
I watched autour and seen that some people cover the terminals 11 and 13 and it works but not too sure.

I also should this problem with a new card or is there a way to fix this?

    Any help much appreciated.

    Hello

I guess that you upgraded the wireless lan card later, didn t you? I know that 11 + 13 pins hint and it worked, but after awhile the card did not and the connection quality was so poor that I bought a card atheros on ebay and this card works really well. So I suggest that you are looking for a card atheros on ebay and to install such card in your system since the cards are known to work properly in the toshiba machines.

  • Satellite A660 Wireless does not work: how to turn on the wireless switch?

Wireless to the new laptop just stopped working. When I press Fn + f8 it says: Wireless Communication is disabled. Please activate the Wireless Communication switch.

I tried to disable and enable wireless, update (Realtek PCie FE family controller) and Broadcom 802.11n network adapter driver and load the default settings in the Bios but nothing has worked. The button on the top panel wireless is turned on and when I press the button, a window called support thoshiba button jump upward and said: the key has not been configured. But this happens to other laptops also (we have 8 portable type, even), it cannot use the wifi. What can I do now?

    Hello

Please reinstall the Wlana driver and try again. (Do not to update to uninstall the old driver, restart the device and install the new drivers)
In most cases these disorders Wlan is displayed if the WiFi driver does not work correctly.
Given that all other laptops are ok, I think that it is a temporal matter in the registry or something like that

PS: It is possible that the FN buttons do not work corectly. Therefore, you can reinstall the VAP (value added package) and support of card Flash Utility so in order to reconfigure the FN keys.

  • Cannot connect Windows XP to the wireless printer.

WINDOWS XP PRINTER WI - FI CONNECTION

I have Windows XP Media Center Service Pack 3 OS that worked a HP Photosmart Plus B209 a - m with a USB cable.  Since I just bought a new laptop (Windows 7 Professonal OS) I decided to create a home network with a router Cradlepoint MBR 900.  The two laptops (XP and 7 OSs) were connected to the internet via the router with no problems.  Windows 7 Pro OS laptop is connected wireless to the printer Photosmart Plus, I had implemented as confiquiration wireless the printer first.  But the failure of the attempt to get the OS Windows XP Media Center to connect to the wireless printer.  During the installation process to connect the printer to the XP system wireless it asked me to choose which printer I wanted to connect to.  The Photosmart Plus printer was selected and visible, then I clicked Next.  Shortly after, a small screen appeared stating the "serscan.sys" file could not be found and I have to insert a Windows XP Pro CD to get the file or run the installer of this file.  This issue has occurred both when I tried to install it with the CD provided by HP and when I tried installing the HP download website.  All I have is a recovery for Windows XP disk provided with the laptop and not a CD Windows XP Pro.  What should I do to fix this?  Thanks, Lonnie

Thanks, that was fast.  Please, let me make sure I have this correct.  First of all, I have two recovery disks provided with the computer, with Windows XP Media Edition and one for the drivers.  I should not use either of these disks, right?  If I had the previous correct answer then let me ask the following question;  When looking to borrow the disc should be Windows XP Media Edition or can I borrow any disk of Windows XP?  Kim Merci for your help continues.  Lonnie

    Lonnie,

Before the hunting around for friends who might have a CD, do the following research.  For each of them, make sure that you have checked the search options in the 'Advanced Options' to

    • Search system folders
    • Search for files and hidden folders
    • Search subfolders

Search your entire hard drive and both CDs you have to serscan.  Do not include the .sys at the end of the file name.

Search for Driver.cab.  Report of the Office (s).  On your hard disk, you should find one or both

    • C:\Windows\i386\Driver.cab
    • C:\Windows\Driver Cache\i386\driver.cab

You can also find these files on the "recovery disk".

Report what you find, including locations of found nothing.  It is possible (but I don't think likely) you will find a file named serscan.sy_ - If Yes, include this information in your results.

Or, if you want to ignore all this, you can download serscan.sys since my SkyDrive-->

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?CID=18b259158254905b&RESID=18B259158254905B! 225 & Thierry = 18B259158254905B! 214

The file should go to C:\Windows\system32\dllcache (a hidden directory) and probably in C:\Windows\system32 (I do not use this file, if it is not in my system32 folder).

Or you can just save it to your desktop and "direct the Setup" it there (if you do this, check more later to confirm that he got into C:\Windows\system32\dllcache and if not, put a copy).
