Internet Explorer 7 renaming to .mp2 .mp3

From:nick Hi... I tried to fix an annoying problem in IE7 and I'm enough ideas so would like some tips or suggestions please. Whenever I have download all the MP3 files from any website, IE7 sees the file as an MP2 file so I then the inconvenience of having to select Save-> change the option "save under" to "All files" then add .mp3 at the end of the file which is a bit of a pain. I tried unsubscribing and disabling addons QuickTime and RealPlayer, but no effect, then I tried to disable all addons just in case there was a conflict somewhere, but the same thing happens. I run a system dual boot (XP/Vista) about the same software on each facility, but the problem exists only in IE on Vista installation. I'm a few ideas so would appreciate some help please. Thank you... Nick :)

Looks like
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT Type\audio/mpeg
or
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT Type\audio/mpg
'Extension' is set to '.mp2.  Is it?

To verify my identity, my financial website send me a code to enter when I try to log in the site. This happens with a new computer or if I change browsers. When I use Internet Explorer, I'll do it this time and the site recognizes me for each later in log. With Firefox, I have to ask a code each time to verify who I am and it's frustrating. I don't know why the site don't remember my computer under Firefox, but it will be under Internet Explorer. Firefox is also one of the browsers recommended by the financial institution. I'm guessing there is something in Firefox that I change a lot to avoid this problem, but I don't have any idea.

  • My computer will not start, getting warning that the iertutil.dll is missing for Internet Explorer

Anyone know how to fix this problem? I get a warning saying that the iertutil.dll file is missing for internet explore. When I start my computer, all I get is my screensaver with no office. The only way I can continue any part of my computer is to go to alt del to get to the control task manager.

Do you mean you see a message like this:

Explorer.EXE - unable to locate component
This application has failed to start because iertutil.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

That file should never be missed and it takes an extra effort to remove it on purpose because there are one of 3498 files who cares about Protection of file Windows (WFP).

If explorer.exe is not running, all you will see is your screen background image.

The file is in this folder (assuming that XP is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32

Since you can get into the Task Manager do the following:

Since the Task Manager, click file, new task (run...) and then click Browse and navigate to this folder:

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

If you are unable to find or do not see the dllcache folder, because your system is not configured to display hidden files and folders, simply type the path to the folder name in the "Open:" box

    c:\Windows\System32\dllcache

Make sure the "Files of type" box is set to show all files (or you will not see any), and then click OK to display all files.

Locate copy the iertutil.dll file backup in the folder c:\windows\system32\dllcache, made a right click and copy and go back up a folder c:\windows\system32, right-click in an empty area and paste the file there.  Answered in the affirmative if invited to replace the existing file.

If you can't find the file in the dllcache folder (should be), depending on your installation, there may be a copy of the file on your system in this folder:

    c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386

If you find there, copy the file missing from there and paste it where it belongs

It is possible that some malicious software or your antivirus/antimalware indeterminate quarantined (actually deleted) the right file and the backup copy of which must be in the dllcache folder.

In this case, you can download a copy of my SkyDrive and use networks disks (on foot) to bring it to the system afflicted on a USB key or a floppy disk.

You may be able to 'Run' iexplore.exe in the Task Manager to get on the Internet and just download it.

I downloaded a copy of XP Pro SP3 file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, place a copy of the file in these two folders (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32
c:\Windows\System32\dllcache (this is where XP keeps backups of important files).

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    http://CID-6a7e789cab1d6f39.SkyDrive.live.com/redir.aspx?RESID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you will not see the extension of file (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, etc), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, it cannot save the file with an extension (for example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called rundll32 when the name of the file should really be called rundll32.exe (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

You then put the downloaded files in the correct folders on your system.

That may not solve all your problems, but at least you will be spending this part and we can then fix the rest.

Since it is all very suspicious to meI would follow with this:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs at:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
Restart your computer and solve the outstanding issues.
  • Delete a file called "wre.exe", now two of my virus scanners will not work and nor does internet Explorer, how to fix?

I took my computer to the shop twice to fix the same virus, and then I got it again. This time, I decided to try to fix myself because obviously they couldn't do it, despite having taken $200 from me.

my mother gave me Norton antivirus, and its history has shown me where the file kept showing in taskmanager, so I went there and deleted. the virus seems to have disappeared and to a large extent, my computer seems to work but I can't run microsoft security essentials or antimalware bytes. haven't tried my other programs yet, but I know that I can still read PDF files, and I can see my photos. the icon of internet explore doesn't work, I got in line to say things to try to find the file online. whenever I try to go online, or use one of my two antivirus, it tells me to choose a program to use to open it.

is there anyway that I can fix this? really get rid of the virus? I can't afford to have this fixed thing again, and of course, they are unable to him anyway.

If you like not what it was, I think it was called xp antivirus 2012 or something similar.

in fact, its virus programs not only blocking, his block anything that does not use another program to run, like adobe or realplayer. I am sure that it changed something. I'll try this thing to scan in any case, just to see if it finds anything. If it isn't, I have no choice but to do a complete reinstall of windows.

is there a risk to the installation of an operating system from an obsolete drive severely? as in will be my computer be infected again until he finally update all the way?

First of all, you can not delete a file by using the Task Manager. You can choose to terminate a process but cannot remove a file that you have indicated above in your initial post.

Second, you can't have the two Microsoft Security Essentials and Norton installed on the same machine. Conflict reducing your coverage and possibly even cause a blue screen.

Thirdly, you are unable to open due to the malware programs change you file associations of executable files.

Fourthly, you have problems to connect to the internet most likely because the malicious software modified your internet connection settings.

It will be easy to fix if you follow my instructions carefully.

With the help of a good working computer and flash drive you mentioned above download the four files below save them on the flash drive.

    XpExeFix.reg

    RKill

    RemoveProxy

    Malwarebytes< it="" doesn't="" matter="" that="" you="" may="" already="" have="" malwarebytes="" downloaded.="" use="" the="" one="" on="" the="" link="" i="" provided.="" it="" has="" been="" renamed="" to="" allow="" it="" to="" run="" on="" infected="">

Now take the flash drive for infected patients. Open the flash drive. Right-click on XpExeFix.reg and choose merge. Confirm the prompt. You should receive a message that the information has been added to the registry.

Then, double-click RemoveProxy and run it. Once the operation is completed, you should be able to access the internet. If you are unable to run the file go to the step below and run RKill and then return to this step.

Then, from the flash drive double click on RKill and choose to run it. It may take a while to complete but, just let it run. You will get a window similar to that of the command prompt and must be informed when the process is complete.

Once the RKill completed, double-click Malwarebytes and choose to install it. Update to update the installation, then run a full scan. Remove any detected object. If you are unable to update just for some reason any run it.

Post when you have completed these steps for additional instructions.

  • After download of Internet Explorer 8 I can't open all the icons in the control panel. On display is come information that Windows cannot find 'C\WINDOWS\system32\rundll.32.exe '.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Yesterday, I downloaded Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 web from Microsoft Download Center.

After downloading Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, I can't open any icons in the control panel.

On display is come information that Windows cannot find 'C\WINDOWS\system32\rundll.32.exe '.

    Help, please. Thanks Gene.

    Thanks Gene.

    Dear: :

Running sfc/scannow will not replace the missing rundll32.exe file.

Why you post methods that do not work and will be just wasting time?

Hove you never even seen this problem before, tried to recreate it so that you can actually see, or have you never really fixed?

Why you learn not what sfc/scannow does and does not do?

Here is a simple test to you and all your colleagues in the technical support engineer:

Rename or delete just your c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe file is "missing".

    Rename rundll32.exe---> rundll32.xxx

If you started normally, before you can blink, the 'missing' rundll32.exe file quickly and quietly replace the copy in the dllcache folder.  It is the Protection of Windows file in action and you will see something like this in the Event Viewer log system:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Windows File Protection
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 64002
    Description:
File replacement was attempted on the protected system file c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe. This file was restored to the original version to maintain system stability. The file version of the system file is 5.1.2600.5512.

I beg you to perform this simple test to know how the sfc/scannow:

Boot your system to Safe Mode or the recovery for the Windows File Protection Console does not run.

For this example, we will use the system critical file rundll32.exe.

Rename or delete your c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe.exe file so the file is now "missing."

A critical file, is it true?  It is on the list of the file 3498 knows the Protection of Windows and SFC files, but now he isn't.

If Windows File Protection is running, the "missing" file would be quickly and silently replaced (try to rename or delete it in normal mode and it will be quickly and quietly replaced).

Now, with your file rundll32.exe missing, start in Normal mode and try to use something like control panel to open something like Power Options and you'll see that familiar message:

    Control Panel
Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe '.  Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click search.

Now you have recreated a common problem with the missing file and seen the error of our own eyes.  A Microsoft Support Engineer will usually suggest running sfc/scannow for this kind of problem, but it will not work or help and you can prove it to yourself, and now you have reproduced the error.

You follow own advice and run sfc/scannow to the end.

The rundll32.exe is always had disappeared, right?  Did run sfc/scannow replace the missing critical system file?

How can he be so sfc/scannow is supposed to replace the missing system files?  This is because it is not this that sfc/scannow does.

Now you know sfc/scannow does not.  He did not replace your missing system file (don't forget to put your rundll32.exe back so you will have a).

Now, go to c:\windows\system32\dllcache and delete or rename the file rundll32.exe from there - and it will be gone and not replaced automatically because the Windows File Protection does not seem after this record.

    Run sfc/scannow in full again.

Replace the file rundll32.exe missing in the dllcache folder, since it handles missing files (not the system32 folder) IS the folder that sfc/scannow.

    Now you know sfc/scannow does.

Do you need help to know too much about the corrupt system files?

Since most people do not have a genuine XP bootable installation CD, they will not be able to develop a copy of the file that is missing from the installation CD, they have not.

After some directions on how to replace the file when the user has no XP bootable installation CD authentic and that will be useful to all.

If you don't know how to say "I don't know how" and I'll help you.

You want to inform/warn the poster that SP3 is installed that running sfc/scannow will take a long time for the installation of SP3 CD?

If you do not have a CD with the same Service Pack as your installation (most people don't), the posters are in for a rough and frustrating time.

Of course this will help with the detachment of the Ministry of Education of the impossible to try things that don't work, but I thought I'd throw it out there for the 100th time.

    Hi Carol,.

Thank you very much for the reply.

You can create a shortcut to Internet Explorer 32-bit on your desktop.

    See the following steps:

    Find the file iexplore.exe inC:\Program Files(X86) \Internet.exe. Right-click iexplore.exe , and then select send to-> desktop (create shortcut).

Rename this shortcut so that you know this is the shortcut for IE 32 bits.

  • Internet Explorer 10 - strange problem - he doesn't have a specific folder on my hard drive

I have a Lenovo laptop with Windows 7 and SP2.

After upgrading to Internet Explorer 10, there was a weird and aggravating problem.

There is a folder of photos which I use to hold all the files for my Hub pages. They include text, .jpg, .mp3 and .mp4 files.

It is called Hubpages. I often need to upload a video file in the folder. I can see the folder SlimBrowser, but not with IE.

It's true, in IE the file is simply not there.

I thought that I must be the dominant. Checked, checked carefully. The Hubpages just folder does not appear in Internet Explorer.

There is no doubt, he's always on the HDD. As I said, I can see it with SlimBrowser. In offline mode, I also have full access to the file through Windows Explorer.

If someone has an idea, I'll be very grateful to that leads to a solution!

    Best,

    Gary

  • Animate CC HTML5 canvas in Internet Explorer has no audio

    Another strange question, I know.

I made a simple slideshow with audio accompaniment (mp3 format).  It works very well in all the browsers on Mac and PC, except Internet Explorer. IE11 has 2 issues that might be related:

    (1) it loads instantly, as in, I immediately see the first slide.  All other browsers, it goes through the process of loading and I see loading animated gif I've included.

    (2) IE will not play sound, he plays the slides and animations very well, but there is no audio data. Again, all other browsers it plays very well.

To resolve the second problem, I searched the googles and went through all the different proposed solutions for the fixation of sounds in IE (re-install flash, reset flash, java installation, checking this setting and this setting). Nothing seemed to work until I finally found the setting on "Reset Internet Explorer settings" in the advanced Internet Options menu.  This seemed to fix it. Audio is now played for my presentation.

As a bonus, it also seemed to fix the first issue as well, it took a bit to load now and showed the loading animation.

So now you're probably wondering yourself, OK fixed you, why I read this.  Well, here's the thing. I tried it on several computers of my colleague, and they all had the same problem. I can't tell my customers 'OK for that to work, you need to reset your IE,' which seems bad.  My theory is that IE is default loading of images that are first of all of small size and show them without the full presentation at full load.  So is there something I can do to animate html or .js to force IE to do a full charge?

    Thank you!

In your HTML, where you have:

    var loader = new createjs. LoadQueue (false);

Add this line, and the page will load a lot faster:

    var loader = new createjs. LoadQueue (false);
    loader.setMaxConnections (6).
  • Two devices Fax listed when you try to print from Internet Explorer metro

Hello.  Our Pro Officeject 8600 is ranked twice as "Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8600" when access to the 'Peripheral' charm in Windows 8 Pro 64 bit and try to print from Internet Explorer of Metro.

One of the two brings in fact appear Fax options, while the other will be printed as usual, but you must use some trial and error when you try to print.

It is specific to IE connecting the metro interface as the desktop IE printer appears as normal.

I want my printer to appear as a printer and not a fax, so that I don't have to guess...

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

This isn't a problem from the point of view that the software works in fashion, it is supposed to. When you install your printer it installs two drivers, one for fax and one for the printer, because they are two totally different functions. If you find it difficult to distinguish between them, I would recommend renaming as I mentioned above.

Uninstall and reinstall the printer will not change this fact.

I would like to know if this is the information that you need to hear!

    Have a wonderful day!

EDIT: Problem solved. I've upgraded to the latest version of the Flash Player, and audio works now.

I am currently working on a presentation and use SWFObject to run in a browser. You can see here...

The SWF file broadcasts an audio track (MP3). It works very well within the environment in Firefox and Flash development. In IE, I can see the presentation, but get no sound.

I can refer directly to the audio track in IE, and it plays fine in Quicktime format. Additional audit, it was not a general problem audio in Internet Explorer, I ran a YouTube video, and that works perfectly.
