Internet scam

I've lost everything to internet scam of Ghana, I Dow to recover from that?  If so, please guide me in the right direction.

Hi, Bernhard

Sorry to hear that you are also fallen for this scam online. There were many programs on television States drags this bands to Ghana and other African and Asian countries. Well, there is a certain way, you can try;

1 - FBI local office if you live in the United States.

2 - FCC if you reside in the United States.

3 - Bureau of Interpol in Europe internet scams sections.

Law enforcement 4-local if your country is cooperating with international crime, fight against organizations including Interpol FBI, FCC and other government sources.

5 try to find out where the e-mail is generated from ie, (http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-trace-your-emails-back-to-the-source/), and once you know the source of the email, and then print your screen (http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/help/copy-the-window-or-screen-contents-HP001038284.aspx)

If your bank account has been compromised you must contact your Bank and block your accounts and explain everything to them.

...

Finally if in the future even if you get an email from the closest friends or even family and parents trying to meet each other next of kin and after taking some then send help to the Embassy in the foreign country or WU western Union and check that to see an ID on the photo before delivering a cash or other assistance.

The other day had a friend send me an email (supposedly Thailand for money that his personal effects were stolen.) I called his house and his wife said he's healthy and his Gmail accounts have been hacked so not the necessary liquidity.

I hope these links help.

You can try to reset the unit by pressing the Home and Power buttons at the same time until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). If the Apple appears, reset is underway and the Slide to Unlock screen displays shortly.

If the reset does not work, you can try to put it in DFU mode to see if it will work: (Note: you must follow these instructions to the letter - if you have not, then it will not work):

    Enter Device Firmware Upgrade

  • Is the phone number and alarm warning screen I saw a scam?

Just got a very a screen red background on my computer and a strong voice message, saying that the malware was attempting to invade my computer. He pretended to be Mozilla Firefox and told me to call 844-338-4651 for an easy solution to this problem. There were several windows with red filtered in back and directions in the smaller screens. I didn't have the right to close the small windows filtered to join the largest window without actually closing the red window, which closed all the.

Just one telephone number had one please press one message without context, so I hung up. I then customer of google mozilla supported number, consisting of 844 844-2429 and got an Exchange responded by a person with a very strong South Asian accent. He has not identified himself as working for Mozilla until I asked if it was Mozilla (stupid me). I explained the problem and said that I had to find a way to confirm the number preceding or report it as a scam. As soon as I said scam said I must do and hung up.

    Thank you

Hi, yes you are right to be wary, Mozilla will never ask you to call them. If you did, they may well have asked you to enter an address into your browser which would enable them to take control of your computer and access your data.

    - Avoid and report Mozilla tech support scams.

Hello, I have been using the internet and I clicked on the 'private' button, went to a site and came with what appears to be a virus, because I can not close the window, cannot X out of the screen, and I can't go back to "regular" internet The window is subject to a phone number to call and claims that it is the apple support. For the heck of it, I called. When I called, I was almost like a 3rd person in one conversation with another woman with the same question. I just stayed quiet and listened and 'support' got serial number off her phone and said that they would add anti-virus software for it. Then the support requested when she bought an ipad and it was past warranty and she would have to pay $34.95 for the Kaspersky Anti-virus application.

This is what the screen looks like and I literally can't do anything else that click home to get out of the internet.

What is c? How should I do?

It's a scam. You were browsing in a not-so-reputation site.

In this exact form, press 'Private' to activate the private off tension, by scanning left to close the page, tap done, click on the home button, double-click the Home button, drag up on Safari to close. Wait a few seconds and you should be ready to restart Safari.

Personally, I found Windows Defender useless in protecting against malicious software.

Instead, I recommend MalwareBytes Anti-Malware.  I downloaded and installed on my desktop and he immediately found a host of problems that the Defender had not yet noticed and they cleaned up.

    This is their website: https://www.malwarebytes.org/

They have a free version, but the paid version offers more options.

The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.

Difficulty of pop-ups in browser that support Safari.

Common pop - ups include a message saying that the Government has taken over your computer and you pay release (often called "Moneypak"), or a false message saying that your computer has been infected and you need to call a number of tech support (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it to be resolved. First of all, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and that your computer has not been assigned. This "hack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so don't pay not money, call number, or provide personal information. This article will give an overview of the solution to remove the pop-up window.

    Quit Safari

Usually, these pop-ups will not go by clicking 'OK' or 'Cancel '. In addition, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in grey, including the option to leave Safari. You'll probably force quit Safari. To do this, press command + option + ESC, select Safari, press on force quit.

    Relaunch Safari

If you restart Safari, the page will reopen. To avoid this, hold the "Shift" key when opening Safari. This will prevent windows since the last time that Safari was running since the reopening.

It will not work in all cases. The SHIFT key must be maintained at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window is displayed again. In these circumstances, after force quit Safari, turn off Wi - Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then restart Safari normally. He'll try to reload the malicious Web page, but without a connection, it will not be able to. Leave this page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com and try to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet and the page that you entered is displayed rather than the malicious.

  • My dad fell for a scam of pop up allowing access to its iMac... What should I do now?

My old father just bought a new iMac 3 weeks after the death of his previous mac of 10 years ago.  He is not very computer and had a time with the learning curve.

Yesterday, while online, he fell for one of those notices of popups indicating that his computer was 'at risk' - he called the phone # & handed her credit card information...  Immediately, they have had access, has taken control of his computer and downloaded something while he was on the phone with him.  That scared him and he stopped.

He called the credit card company to refuse the $50 fee that had been immediately posted on his account.  I fear however, that some sort of malicious software have been installed and maybe they have access to his personal information and passwords, etc.  He doesn't know who he talked to, or what has been downloaded...

What needs to be done to identify and remove what has been installed?  I don't want him being a victim of identity theft.

    Thanks for your suggestions.

First of all, have the card cancelled and have the Bank to launch a new. Change all passwords. Tell him that never to do that again.

Surfing the internet on my iphone, I received a pop-up message stating that I had a virus that could fly as well as personal information and credit card information used on the phone.  That I should call 1-844-854-6870 immediately to get the virus removed.  I didn't call the number, but rather made sure my privacy filters were ignited, powered my phone is off and connected my office here.  What should I do to make sure that I do not have a virus on my iphone?

    It's just a scam.

    Force restart our iPhone.

Press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

As long as you call the number or allow anyone access to your iPhone, so there is no worry for a virus.
