I contacted an Institute which said that they would help me learn the course "VMware vSphere: install, configure, manage [VCP5] training program." I don't know, it is the right thing/track that I should follow or else? please help. Thanks in advance

Hi Amit,

  • Curious about the quality of the training VMware vs other classes

    Maybe this isn't the best place to ask because it is VMware forums, but can anyone offer an objective opinion on the quality of the VMware classes directed against others, such as HP? I intend to take the vSphere 5: installation, Congif and manage 5 day class.

    I would assume that VMware instructors would be more informed about their own products, but more competent people are not always the best teachers. Also, there are other factors such as the quality of the installation, access to the laboratories and the precision of the curriculum.  So any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the community - having been a contract for VMware instructor, they hold all the VCI at a very high level, requiring continured and mainat high education on the student investigations comepleted at the end of the class - these investigation are the same if you take the class of VMware or partner VATC like HP or global knowledge.

    The VATC infrastructure also must be approved by VMware and is amended periodically to ensure the safe delivery of the material of the class and classes so you should not be concerned aboud the quality of delivery of the course - that being said each delivery of instructors is unique to this instructor and depending on your tatses you might find an instructor who is great While the student sitting next to you think it is a total tool.

  • All recommended that the training material

    Hi all

    I use ESX3.5 for awhile now, and soon I will participate in the training of VSphere so I can try the VCP 4 exam. Can anyone recommend good books that are on the market that are good to explain the new features in Vsphere but also good preparation for examination and training courses.

    I'd be curious to hear your comments.

  • Sales of VMware experience in Western Canada

    Someone here a recent experience with the sales support of VMware here in Western Canada?  I found it very difficult to try to get your hands on someone.  It's been weeks now, the only answer to my queries from my former VCP course load and a sales associate he knows (unfortunately, gentlenman is not responsible for my company).

    I also recently talked a friend of mine (who is a head of IT with another company) by adopting VMware for his company.  I had his head off HyperV and so he began investigations in VMware, but got no response from anyone for awhile now.  I know it looks just in Infrastructure Enterprise 3 licenses, but you would think that someone at VMware would always?

    Anyway this isn't a mug shot, but I'm curious to see if we are the only ones who know that here in Vancouver.  Someone else here that has this type of cold shoulder from VMware recently?

    Thank you

  • Search the portgroup (VC:DistributedVirtualPortgroup)

    I have a workflow where I'm changing the port group to a specified IP address-based virtual computer.

    So after some searching around, I came across the whole group Connect machine virtual NIC to the distributed virtual port number . The problem that I need help, it's how can I programmatically specify the Group of ports, I want the script to change the VM.

    In my workflow, I have a script task (see JS code below) before the item Connect virtual machine NIC to the virtual port number distributed which takes IP address as the gateway and I want the Group of output ports required for the virtual machine to Connect NIC... item to run, object type (VC:DistributedVirtualPortgroup). I manually entered all groups of possible port in a switch statement, but his does not work. No idea how to return the right object based on the name of dvGroup or the ID specified in the switch statement? Is it still the right way to do this?

    var _ip = IP;

    switch ((_ip.substring(0, _ip.lastIndexOf('.')))) {
      case "10.10.80":
        dvGroup = "Management (Dev38-80) (dvSwitch-Converged10G)";
        break;
    //and so forth
    }

    Also, is there anyway to stop the execution of javascript code and troubleshoot interactively (as in chrome dev console?)

    Thank you.

    I managed to solve this problem by using 2 workflows:

    (1) find network, with some labels for cluster (think I got this from the site of the training VMware vCo)

    (2) connect the number NIC of distributed virtual machine virtual port group (got here is How to tie a dvPortGroup as VC:Network)

    I was simply the result of education case since the original message in the workflow 1 and I also had to customize this workflow with the JS I found here: correspondent on a portgroup

    Hope this helps someone.

  • Review of b/w the difference vSpher5.1 and vSphere5.0

    Hello
    Just need to know... I passed my exam ' VCP510 VMware Certified Professional on vSphere 5 "on Sunday, August 19, 2012 without getting official training vMware... but I think that the course I studied is vsphere5.0 and not in 5.1, I did because I'm waiting for the company to sponsor my training... Now, they are doing this year

    The course, I'm looking for is now vMware VMware vSphere fast track v5.1 , this internship is + my review I already spent would be officially certified and I will get the vMware official certificate as vSphere5.1 certified?

    Sort of, but he didn't is not specific to 5.1 certification - you will be certified for vSphere 5.

    You will be agree you when you followed the training - it does not matter that the review was in 5.0 and 5.1 will be training.

    As you take the training after the exam, you will need to [email protected] by e-mail once you have finished training to ask them to validate your certification status.

  • Prepare to use a physical disk or an unused Partition

    VMWare Workstation version 8.0.4 build-744019

    SE host: Windows 7 64-bit

    Host HW: 8 GB, Intel Core I7-2670QM 2.2 GHz (4 cores, 8 wires)

    I have a 512 GB SSD (OCZ Vertex 4) in my machine, bought specially to speed up the construction process of the cores for embedded systems.

    I installed Windows 7 64 bit on this SSD and booting from it. I shrunk the drive in Windows 7 diskmanager and released a 100 GB partition to use for a virtual machine running Windows 7 32 bit.

    Training VMWare this 100 GB on disk 0 partition format the easy installation. The Windows 7 installation screen displays this error in step "copying files...". ». The error is 0 x 80070057.

    The States of using VMWare guide (on page 14, under the title 'Prepare to use a disc or unused physical Partition'):

    On Windows Vista and Windows 7 hosts, you cannot use the system partition or physical disk that

    contains, in a virtual machine.
    I just read that I can't do what I'm doing? I can't use a partition on the physical disk that is used to start the host for a virtual machine operating system?
    What is the technical reason for this? Is this something that will be possible in the future (or even now with a workaround) or is it something that is technically simply not possible?
    The reason for me trying to create a virtual machine that has direct access to my SSD is to speed up the virtual machine. I use it to build kernels. Build a kernel 'natively', so outside of a VM, takes 5 minutes. The same core within a virtual machine of construction takes 30 minutes, and it's on a virtual machine that has files of virtual disk it's on this same (very fast) SSD.
    Is there another way to speed up my built inside the virtual machine? The bottleneck is disk access. It's just terribly slow in the VM and lightning fast outside.

    I hope someone can give me some advice! Thanks in advance!

    You can only assign physical drives in a virtual computer with a crowd of Win7 so player set 'offline '.
    Otherwise, you will encounter problems just after starting the virtual machine - the host then banned access to training and the virtual machine stops

    Of course, you can NOT set the drive system 'offline' on a host with a single disc.

    The performance of a physical disk and a preallouee vmdk should be almost the same.

  • After VCP 5.0

    Hi all

    Right now I am preparing for secure Channel 5 and will give to the review, but currently, I have a doubt in my mind. at the end of the VCP 5.0 certification, I want to go VCAP5-DCD and VCAP5-DCA , the latter to certification training Vmware.. or I can prepare myself & can go to exams

    Thanks in advance

    TechExpert

    VCP5 acts as a sine qua non for VCAP5-DCA, VCP5-DT, VCAP5-DCD or new certification VCP5-IaaS - all those who recommended training but no mandatory training requirement.

    See the links to the right of this page: http://mylearn.vmware.com/portals/certification/

    I have information on all of these certifications on my blog too: http://vmwaretraining.blogspot.com

    Good luck to VCP5 - I would focus exclusively on that for now, worry about what comes next once you are ready...

  • Ceritifcation

    can anyone provide me with the details of the vcp certification. How much does it cost? can I take the certification without this training directly from vmware boot camp. How many documents to pass to become a VCP? the available landfills.

    thnks

    To become a VCP, you need to follow a formal training class and pass the exam. For the price, check with a VMware authorized training center.

    I suggest that you take a look at VCP study and Training VMware and follow the links there to get the information you need. You will also find links to sample tests.

  • How to be a VCP?

    Hi all

    I just finished 4 days training Vmware infrastructure esx 3.5 and VC 3.0 and now think for VCP.

    But the problem is that I entered this area and just started to learn.

    Will you please guide me how crack VCP and on average, how long does requires for preparation. ?

    What books to follow and also if suggest you some CBT links or Live Labs online then its great.

    Thank you

    Yes this pdf are enough!

    Also, as I know... VMware provides no such lab View.

  • VMnet0 always reset not "filled" to restart

    Since the upgrade to VMWare Workstation 6.5.2, I noticed that whenever I restart the machine (Windows Vista 64-bit) host, virtual network configuration is lost for VMNet0.  I have an automatic bridging off and under the mapping of the virtual network host, I have put VMnet0 at the bridge for Ethernet only of the host controller.  After each restart, this parameter is returned to "Not bridged" and I have to re - associate manually with the adapter VMnet0 desired.  I think this behavior is new to 6.5.2, although I can't be sure.

    Do you have any suggestions on how I could train VMWare Workstation to keep the setting?  Is there a log I can check why it might be to dissociate this adapter?

    I restart the host is rare, and now that I recognize the problem, it's not a huge problem.  I am mainly interested in reporting this so it can be corrected in a future release.

    Jason

    I saw this happen at least 4 updates of different 6.2.

    The solution for us was to rerun the Setup program and do a repair. Each time.

    I hope this helps.

  • VMWare and Certification Payment Options training

    Hello world

    I just wanted to ask if anyone else here has experienced being refused the payment online through store.vmware.com by the center of training at the local level?

    I was intending to be VMware troubleshooting or optimizing VMware and scale. But I have been informed by all the training centres that they accept only cash or cash ON delivery.

    I find it weird because they are all available for online payment. In fact, I can go all the way up to where after signing up, I can do just a few more clicks and I should be able to pay by credit card.

    The payment method is the prerogative of the center of training or testing? Where I can I hope to have clarification? Thanks in advance for your contributions.

    Cart.jpg

    Based on the screenshot, you take the training in the Philippines. As far as I know this means that it will be a class VATC-delivered. If this is the case, then yes it is art about what payment options they offer.

    Cash would be a very unusual way for people to pay for training certainly in the places I know.

    Most common options are the credit card, purchase order and invoice (credit) or VMware PSO Credits.

    Drop an email to [email protected] if you need help from their team.

  • VMware vSphere: Troubleshooting [5.5] workshop preliminary training

    Hello

    I was wondering if I would be admitted to the training and possibly be eligible for the exam of the VCP5 - VTC (VCP550).

    I had no prior training of VMWare VSphere sanctioned or certification. Just funded by the learning company, self-training videos available of VSphere CIM and tinkering on my labs. But I have a couple of years of experience in the treatment of VSphere. I just thought it would be best to go directly to the VSphere rather than training with VSphere CIM workshop.

    On the learning portal, the prerequisites are:

    VCP550.JPG

    So basically, my plan is to:

    1) attend the VMware Vsphere troubleshooting training workshop

    (2) the exam for VCP 550

    (3) obtain VCP - certified DV

    Is this possible in my situation? Thanks in advance for your contributions.

    Am I safe to assume that the workshop, the program will not be validated if the participant has the skills required to register? Is it on a basis "enter at your own risk '?

    Yes, you are right, and don't forget mark answers as useful and correct :-)
