IPS monitoring events Notes

Hi all

I have a group of IPS/IDS installed in our monitoring network of several segments.

Usually and for the years seems always assorted events high severity or average lower and information.

For about two months and so far, while monitoring the IPS/IDS, I noticed that I am not finding any event with high severity or average before there was daily sheets with high & gravity medium and all the Group of IPS / IDS is assigned with the same behavior not only on a single device.

I will be happy if everything works normally with no corresponding severity, but I'm afraid that there is something wrong with the monitoring of our systems IPS /IDS.

I find logs with gravity low and informational only.

Please let know us if I can do the troubleshooting procedures

Kind regards

Software updates also contain an update of the signature. Any signature applied to a sensor IPS update will change the existing settings of the signing of the probe. New signings will be activated and existing signatures may be changed to provide better performance or to retire if they live on their usefulness.

Configuration of the probe can be modified to affect what light signatures as well by setting the filters to event and action event overrides.

  • Reliability Monitor does not work in Win7 Ultimate

Can someone shed light on why the reliability monitor does not work in Windows 7 Ultimate? Apparently, it has not operated since I installed the operating system on a dual boot w/Vista system as nothing recorded, nor any indication that current operations record is!
I don't remember having a problem with the tools of Perf and Rel in Vista and performance monitor seems to work in Win7?

    Hi dw_witless,

Thanks for posting on Microsoft Answers!

I suspect that data collection is not enabled. To follow the steps below to enable it:
1 activate the data collection for reliability monitor
Reliability Monitor uses data provided by the RACAgent scheduled task. Reliability Monitor will begin showing an indication of stability, and event information specific 24 hours after installation of the system.
The RACAgent scheduled task runs by default once the operating system is installed. If it is disabled, it must be enabled manually in the software component for Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in Task Scheduler.
Membership in the local Administrators group or equivalent is the minimum required to complete this procedure.
To enable the RACAgent scheduled task
    1. Click Start, click in the search box, type taskschd.msc, and then press ENTER.
    2. in the navigation pane, expand Task Scheduler Library, expand Microsoft, expand Windows, and click RAC.
3 right-click RAC, click view, and click Show hidden tasks.
    4. click on RACAgent in the results pane.
    noteNote
The RACAgent task name is maybe not completely visible. If you don't find it, expand the name column in the results pane.
    5. in the Action menu, click Activate.

If the steps above does not
    2 reset the reliability monitor:
    1. turn off your Windows 7 problem report history.
NOTE: You need to do step 6 at this link above to delete all the problems.
    2. If the Reliablity monitor is open, close it.
    3. open the Folder Options and select (dot) the hidden files and folders option, and click OK.
    4. open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\RAC.
    5. to save the history of reliability data-
WARNING: This is an optional step, you will not be able to restore these data if you do not back up this data and it will be gone for good. If you want to ignore this, go to step 6 instead.
    (A) copy the PublishedData and the StateData files and paste them to another backup location.
    6 open the folder PublishedData.
    7. Select all files in the folder and click on delete.
    8. click on Yes to approve it.

  • U3014 monitor hangs, not responding

    Hello

I bought this camera last week and since I noticed that sometimes the monitor becomes unresponsive (several times a week, sometimes several times a day). Here is what I noticed:

-Computer saving energy and monitors goes, but this monitor feeds not off but instead goes to the white screen (the other display off fine)
-After the previous monitor does not display an image after getting out of the power save; again, made another display
-Sometimes the screen turns off, but does not illuminate

Common to these events, it's that the menu button (or the other buttons) do not work. The only way to get a reaction is the power button, and even in this case it does not sometimes. However, I noticed that now the button for a few seconds the stop screen always makes. After power cycling the display always comes back fine.

Sometimes the symbol corresponding to the DVI cable (dual-link DVI-I use for 2560 x 1600 60 Hz) appears to the left upper corner of the screen and stays there. This is similar to the other crashes.

I used to have a HP ZR24W and a Dell 2412 M connected to the PC with GTS450 (Linux) without any problems earlier. U3014 replaced the HP.

    Any suggestions?

Finally, the problem has been resolved by replacing the unit with a new one.

  • Monitoring is not supported on [home]

On all of my guests, I get this error:

    Configuration problems

Monitoring is not supported on (host) cluster (XXX) (data center)

I have disabled tracking Cluster applications, so now I have "followed only VM.

'Issues' came after the last update and restart the computer.

I do not use the Application of monitoring at all, so I just liked getting the warning went. I don't see an event that triggers it.

    / Søren Poulsen

    TIA

If you have already selected "Followed only VM" to monitor the VM status, my guess is that Agents have not been refreshed so that the same error is reported. Can you try to restart the service Centre if possible on the ESX and virtual on the VC Server also hosts.

FYI, this option is not supported on ESX 3.5 hosts, we do all ESX 3.5 hosts in the cluster?

  • Firefox has only display problems in the upper left region of only my Dell U3011 monitor; the monitor does not have these problems with any other application

Some parts of the Firefox window are translucent, allowing the image of the desktop to show through. These regions are anything but great internet site central image which behaves normally. Unless the desktop is completely black this problem makes reading the tabs, address bar and the bookmark are difficult if not impossible. I encounter this problem only on my new Dell U3011 monitor. Firefox is the only application that has this issue on the Dell monitor. The monitor built into the laptop that animates the Dell monitor does not exhibit this problem. • HP monitor does not display "DVi signal.

My HP LP2275w monitor does not display "DVI signal" when connected with a DVI cable (supplied), but when it is connected via a VGA cable and adapter DVI/VGA (both supplied) it works but no BIOS screen. It begins immediately with the logo of the VICTORY.

I just bought new HP Pavilion 500-158eg, Intel Core i5-4440, with AMD Radeon HD8570, 2GB processor, running on WIN7 Pro 64 b. VGA and another port of the motherboard are initially blocked so I can connect the monitor only via the output HDMI or DVI on the graphics card.

I should note that on my old machine without a name with the graphic upgrade ATI Radeon, there is no problem and I used the same cable. There was an electric shock that causes the collapse of the motherboard so I can't even re - check on the old machine. I can't verify if there is a problem with the DVI cable because all laptops in our housing have only the VGA output...

This message appears since the first start?

In this case, you would need to uninstall and reinstall your Lexmark printer

  • Satellite L650 - black on the monitor is not 100% black

    Hello
first sorry my English is not good at 100%, but I'll try my best.

I have a new Toshiba Satellite L650 and I see a little problem of color on the screen. When I turn on the computer, when the lights to light up the screen, black is not 100% black, its more like dark blue, not a lot, but I can see the diference. When comes to windows 7 still have same problem of color issue. I tried to calibrate colors, but they all up looks normal to me because I have to another (older) Toshiba and the colors are great, very good.

I've updated the bios and graphics of the main card and still no improvement. I tried also calibrate the colors in the main graphics tools (ATI) and the problem persists. In addition, in games, the color doesn't seem 100% good.
Can we say its problem of monitor?

    Hi, Flip,

I put t know if it s a monitor problem or not, but you should test an external monitor to your laptop computer. In order to check if it s associated with internal monitor or not.

In the settings of the display driver, you can adjust the colors. You need to test it with the default settings, instead all colors maximum.

So basically, the upgrade tool opposes video chipset in your custom PC, not on the screen.

  • Primary monitor does not work after last nights updated

    • I'm running Ultimate.
    • I have two monitors.
    • My primary monitor does not work.
    • I checked the VGA cables. This isn't the issue.
    • Edit: Just realized that my main monitor is a monitor "Westinghouse". -Who is a "Plug-in-and-play" monitor, there are no drivers.
    • Reinstalled the ATI drivers, did nothing.
    • SYSTEM RESTORED, still nothing.

I ran the most recent update for final last night, then fell asleep. Everything worked before that date, but when I went to turn on my computer this morning, only my HP [my second monitor.] w17e worked. He said he was installing updates from last night, so I had no problem with him and thought it might show something once like this on the login screen.

Once that has happened to the login screen, it showed it for a fraction of a second before disappearing. I entered my password and it connected as usual. After login, I turned off my monitor, and then back on, and it showed my normal desktop for a moment, [enough for me to close two-three programs] before she returned empty.

  • How can I change the video display Mode when the monitor mode not supported?

While creating my new monitor, I changed the computer video display mode at 120 Hz by accident.  Now I see something on the monitor other than the words not taken in CHARGE the MODE.

My system is a new HP Pavilion p7-1423W running Windows 8.1 with Intel i5-2320 3 ghz

I tried the start mode by pressing ESC on power but do not help the startup options.  And the just F11 menu option makes the startup screen disapear and puts the monitor mode not supported.  Tapping F8 doen't work and tapping F12 just puts me in the bios menus that do not help.

How can I upgrade the video card integrated with a video mode that is supported when I can't see the screen?

I answer my own question because I found my solution, thanks to my grandson (freshman to Renselear Politech).

I shoot to buy a monitor that displays a refresh rate of 120, so I could put my rear view.

    Here is the solution.

My computer double exit DVI.  My grandson told me to connect my new monitor to the other output because the output does not get touched when I changed the original mode of production.  He has worked and is automatically selects the default monitors mode.  Then I've reconfigured the original output using the integrated display software. Solved!
