IPv4 connectivity: no internet - ipv6 connectivity: internet?

Hello

I am trying to connect to my work network, but there is a problem with the connection. It says that I'm connected and everything seems fine. It's not until I want to browse the internet when I have problems. For example, if I go to google and enter a query it gives me results, but once I have selected an option, it shows the "cannot display this page, please check your internet connection..." "I run the troubleshooter and it is not able to find a problem. Then I go to my network and sharing Center and look at the status of wireless conncetion and I noticed, it says:

IPv4 connectivity: No internet access

IPv6 connectivity: Internet

It is very confusing and I can't find a reason to why this is happening. I hope someone can help me, thanks in advance.

Hello

I suggest you to ask your question at the following link.

  • No IPv4 connectivity on an Ethernet connection

    Hey guys,.

I'm seriously depressed at the moment. I have a Surface Pro (original) and just bought a 3rd party USB3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter to use, because where I live has no Wi - Fi.

I plugged the adapter on the computer and then plugged the Ethernet cable from the adapter and expect everything to be fine. Unfortunately, despite my connection saying that I had access to the internet, only a few sites would charge (google and facebook). I used the troubleshooter on my adapter "Ethernet 3' and it came up saying 'one or more protocols network on this computer'. '. I tried to do some browsing online for a solution forums (using my iPhone as a hotspot Wi - Fi, mind) but could not find something to help. I had a look at the State of the 3 Ethernet network card and noticed it says "IPv4 connectivity: no Internet access", "IPv6 connectivity: Internet. I checked the Ethernet 3 properties and "Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Internet" is checked by default.

At this point, I remember tinkering with some parameters of last year when I had persistent problems, connection to wireless networks. Then, I panicked and thought I must have messed up some registry settings (I'm not very COMPUTER proficient, let's be honest) and that might be the cause. So I decided to perform a factory reset (from my current Windows 10) to Windows 8 in the hope that it would correct the problem.

Now that I have Windows 8, the problem persists. Interestingly, however, when I use the Troubleshoot utility this time for the card it says ""Ethernet 3 "doesn't have a valid IP configuration" - so now I'm totally confused. "

  • Airport Extreme connected to TIVO: why I can not change Type firewall for IPv4.  Field displays IPv6 and is grayed out so I can't change.

TIVO requires certain ports to be unblocked.  So I try to add the ports requiring TIVO.  But when you try to add the default Type of firewall IPv6 Port Mapping ports and I can't change the value of the IPv4 Port Mapping because the input field is grayed out and no is not accessible.  With Port IPv6 mapping I enter values in all areas except for the IPv6 address because I do not know what value to enter.  I think the button 'save' ' is not available to hit because the IPv6 address field is empty or not valid.  Note: my router Mode is ' Off (Bridge Mode).  Same questions if my router DHCP Mode.

I changed my router Mode DHCP and NAT, then on the Type of firewall on the default page add ports, IPv4 Port Mapping and I could add ports but with this setting, I couldn't connect to internet in my Airport Extreme: my status remains orange light flashing.

I use Comcast and my Airport Extreme is connected to my Comcast router using ethernet.

I use my Airport Extreme as a router (wired and WIRELESS) and as a backup device.

My TIVO is connected to my Airport Extreme using ethernet.

How can I add the Ports requiring TIVO.

Golden in the networking rule. ....... Never try to configure port mapping when you have two devices on the same network the two acting as a router.

Unfortunately, this is exactly what you're trying to do.

    You have three options:

    (1) run the Comcast router "as what" and configure the port on the device of Comcast mapping... .the airPort Extreme must be configured in Bridge Mode when you do this.

    (2) lance to the AirPort Extreme router Mode of DHCP and NAT and configure the ports on the airport map... the peripheral Comcast must be configured to operate as a simple modem in Bridge Mode when you do this.

    (3) lance to the AirPort Extreme router Mode of DHCP and NAT and configure the ports on the airport map... swap Comcast modem/router you have now for a simple modem (it will have only a single Ethernet port).

In other words, either the Comcast is defined as the router and AirPort Extreme is in Bridge Mode... or... the AiPort Extreme is configured as a router and Comcast must be configured in Bridge Mode.

If you choose Option 1, then we can not help you on a matter of Comcast router. In bridged Mode, the AirPort Extreme requires no configuration.

If you choose Option 2 or Option 3, then we the following port values that the Tivo device needs:

    Public or UDP ports

    Public TCP

    UDP private

    Private TCP

In addition, you need to find the MAC address for the TIVO.  It is a long code that looks something like this, for example:

    A1: B2: C3: D4: E5: F6

A link to the Tivo instructions for port mapping would also be very useful.  I have done this with a TIVO in the past, but is for some years.

If all goes well, an expert of TIVO will post to lend a hand.

  • NETWORK in Windows 7 (x 64) (IPv4) connection problems

    Hello world

    first in the technical details:

    -Home-PC-OS: Windows 7 x 64

    -VMWare Workstation V. 7.1.1

    -Feedback interface: 1 x Windows XP Prof, 1 x Windows 7 x 64 (for software testing purposes)

two clients are configured with a single IP (v4) address: 192.168.1.X / subnet mask 255.255.255.0 - which means DHCP:no, network

    connection in VMWare: filled

    My problem is the following:

The XP guest is set to a mode network briged and communicates very well with the network via the "VMWare Accelerated AMD card". Access to the network itself, as well as to the internet.

The Windows 7 client gets no access to the network via the driver "Intel (r) PRO/1000 MT. When I analyze the connection details, I find that there are 2 different IPv4 addresses listed:

    Automatically configured IPv4 address 169.254.202.162

    IPv4 mask subnet 255.255.0.0

    Automatically configures IPv4 address 192.168.1.x

    IPv4 mask subnet 255.255.255.0

I know that the above IP is generated by windows itself - due to no network connection. But why Windows 7 does not have this connection. The guest XP works fine with the same settings. I even tried a NAT connection - which eliminated the top IP but I didn't have any Internet connection either :-(...

    Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Alex

First of all, you should be able to access shares on the NAS via the NAT connection.

Second, what do you mean by 2 gateway IP address ranges? If you have a single physical IP subnet, you can not fill two different IP ranges with the network. In fact, if you use Bridge you not to fill an IP subnet at all. Transition means that the virtual NETWORK card gets transparent connected to the physical network. This means that you must use the physical network IP address, and then in the comments template.

When you use the NAT, connect the client to a switch/virtual network (called VMnet8) which has its own range of IP subnet. This is the reason why the network IP VMnet8 (NAT) address must be different from the physical (which was not the case at the beginning). The host runs NAT and forward the packets to the physical network.

So, as long as your host has not two NIC connected each to different IP subnets, there is no need to create two bridges.

Have you tried the bridge again? Remember, do not use the automatic bypass, disable IPv6 and disable all firewall during the test. Define connections from the host to the 'private' or 'House '.

  • Internet latency Internet connection / Intermittent

    Hello

This is the first time using a forum to debug one of my computers.  I am ready to provide all the necessary information, but if you need something that special, you may need to tell me step by step what you want.  I'll give you more information as soon as I get home.

In any case, here's my problem: I got a new computer that once to the top and runing worked beautifully in my rental house.  About 1-2 months after we moved in the street (literally 2 houses down) and once I have configured my computer problems are beginning to be obvious.  Latency is horrible when you connect to the internet, my CPU running at 50-90% usage (there is no indication in the task manager that uses the CPU) wermgr.exe revolved constantly until I disabled it (when he was running, he never showed any USGA CPU), my connection with the default values of the router to 10 bits/s, when I force him to 100mps duplex full connectivity fails or the latency increases.

The desktop configuration is the following: 2 computers--> SMC router--> cable modem

1 computer is my wife (a non vista PC) which connects very well with no problems and gets speeds of transfers of 500 members (as is expected of Comcast cable).

What I've done so now trying to solve this problem: Vista will completely to dated, Ad aware of analyses (found nothing), analysis (found nothing), updated antivirus my ethernet card drivers, power manager updated drivers up-to-date, stop system of windows error reporting, tried new cables ethernet, reset the router, Manager of tasks of montiored for actiivity file unusual (nothing to report) and tried Windows Vista error setting suggestions.

I'll give you more information, but it is to get people thinking about this problem.  My computer is an AMD Phenom II x 4 940 Porcessor 3.01 Ghz, 8 GB of ram, NVIDIA Geforce GTX 280, nForce card Ethernet 10/100/1000 and Barricade SMC 7004VBR router.

Currtently online game is impossible and normal surfing of the internet strainingly latent.

Hope someone has some ideas for what to do.  I think then try CCleaner or try a factory reset.

Right-click DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle, then click on modify.
In the value data box, type 1 and then click OK.
    Close the registry editor.
By setting this registry key to 1, Windows Vista's trying to get an IP address using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets. If that fails, he will try to obtain an IP address without using the BROADCAST flag in DHCP Discover packets.

The only program that I'm aware of that currently relies on IPv6 is the new Windows meeting space. The first 2 changes will cause this program is not to work - but all of your normal (IPv4) connections will leave unaffected. If it causes problems that you can't overcome, simply go back to the original settings.

    To clear the DNS cache:
Click Start, type cmd in the search box, and then click cmd in the list programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
Once at the command prompt, type ipconfig/flushdns

Click Start, type regedit in the search box, and then click regedit in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {GUID}

This registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the card network that is connected to the network.

On the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.

In the new area #1, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and press ENTER.

  • Lose my ethernet internet connection when the computer goes into mode 'sleep '.

    I have a desktop with Windows Vista.  I have my internet through a cable company.  I've never had problems of connectivity for 2 years and then out of no where he would pass the signal after mode 'sleep'.  I had the cable company come out and check on all equipment and it's good that now, I'm still clueless and confused.  The connection icon have an exclamation point in a yellow triangle and say "limited connectivity" and «identify...» "and then I click on Local area connection status and make a diagnostic test that will get me connected to"network 2 "until it goes into sleep mode and then the process repeats.  It's boring say the least.  When I login and go to the LAKE State he says;

    IPv4 connectivity: Internet

    IPv6 connectivity: limited

    Media state: enabled

    Duration:

    Speed: 100.0 Mbps

He said that the issue is resolved after each diagnostic test, but then it happens again.  I need some help pleaseeee!

    > I need some help pleaseeee!

But you're in the wrong group! It is a problem with your network driver
or your Windows installation. You have this repost to a suitable for Windows Vista
Forum. It is possible that a newer driver from the network has a problem with sleep
mode, you should try another pilot (older or newer).
From your description, there is a problem to renew the lease of your
DHCP server (which must be running on your router), it does not use the
IP address assigned earlier or he does not do / IP address (which
should be the same) we get the router. It is also possible that the
problem is with the router or a new firmware on this subject. You should study
These two avenues, including a replacement of the router and firmware.
Another very simple solution is to configure your PC for a static IP number and
leave it like that. In the forum, I mentioned, people will be able to talk to you
through this option if you don't know how to do this.

  • dv6408ca connected, but no Internet

HP girlfriend will no longer surf the Internet. It's a dv6408ca Pavilion laptop. We have hit our heads with Bell Canada tent to set up Internet, then thought to implement my dv6825ca instead...

The network, including the WIFI works fine. My laptop was connecting to the Internet is possible.

When you try to put up with Bell directly to the laptop, (74.x.x.x) properly resolved IPv4 address but Internet wouldn't work. Tried ipconfig/release and / renew without result. Notice that NIC 6TO4 and ISATAP adapter did not work right (symbols of yellow warning next to them) in the devices, but Bell Tech Manager we ordered to disable/uninstall. It did not help. We turned on the laptop and the modem and give off a lot and even to reverse the direction of the ethernet cable to Bell technology management (Yes, I know...) before deciding to try my laptop.

Later, after the hanging of the entire network (wireless router) and get my laptop to work, we have tried to make your own to connect to the wireless router. His address is now said to 169.x.x.x internal instead 192.168.1.x. Vista indicates that it is connected to the router (but we know it is a lie with the IP address) and of course not connected to the Internet.

Talked to HP tech phone, it didn't so much as helped give us a price for troubleshooting ($399) because the little light on the front was still blue. If it's Amber, well they could repair it under warranty. Tried to update a few things as well:

-NVIDIA nForce Chipset Driver 5.53 has

-Broadcom Wireless LAN Driver for Windows Vista 6.0 D

-WinFlash for HP Notebook System BIOS (AMD/Vista) F.40

  • IPv6 connectivity shows no network access

When I want to access online through a WLAN, shows the status

    IPv4 connectivity: Internet

    IPv6 connectivity: no network access

so I think that my internet speed is going slower than before.

I also try on the properties of the network and their IPv4 IPv6 & all are in default.

now I want to know how, which can enable IPv6 connectivity?

    Hello

You don't need IPv6 to access the Internet.

If IPv6 is on or Off should not affect the speed of Internet connection (if at all in some older systems it slows down when it is turned on).

Please someone help me to heal this problem of limited connectivity and local only access before going bald of pulling my hair

    Hello Gemzy,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft answers forum for windows vista.

There are several things that we can try to solve this problem.

Let's start by disabling all other connections to try to force the wireless connection to request the information needed in the router.  So go to start > Control Panel > network and sharing Center > manage network connections.  Click on each link listed EXCEPT the wireless LAN connection, then click on disable this network device.  Then see if your wire will connect.  You may run the diagnostic and repair utility on the Network and Sharing Center menu to force the wireless card to request information from the router IP.

If all else fails, go back into the network and sharing Center, manage network connections and right click on the wireless network connection and select Properties.  Then click Internet version 4 Protocol and select Properties.  Click in the box that says "Use following IP address" and enter the information that has been shown in IPCONFIG report for your connection to the Wired Local network above.  Do the same for "use the following DNS servers."  Make sure that you type the IP address, mask subnet, default gateway, and DNS addresses exactly the same than the connection to the Local network was when he got the information from the router.

  • When I connect the wi - fi, 1 only one computer can access it, and my computer does not work.

I have to plug the ethernet cable directly into the ATT modem for computer work, so when I hook back in ethernet cable to a Linksys wireless modem, computer at home does not connect & only 1 laptop in the House connects to the time? When I'm addicted to the Wi Fi & will not work my computer at home, I click on the tab "run diagnostics" and he teaches me something about my IP address, but it is impossible to remedy. And my son can't use his laptop or his XBOX live when my daughter is on her cell phone and vice versa.

Very frusterating! It worked just fine and then one day suddenly it happened. I called Att which is my DSL connection and there is nothing wrong with their modem or with the connection to att. I even bought a new linksys modem that has the wireless and the modem router all-in-1 and had the same problem. Help! I can't ask Dell toll-free because my warranty has expired.

It's as if the computers are in competition with each other for internet access!

    Hey Sandra0lynn,

I moved your thread to the Internet Explorer for Windows Vista - networking forum forum and marketing online.

It seems that either DHCP has been disabled on your router and/or all your computers are set to use the same IP address.

First log into your router and verify that DHCP is turned on or enabled. If you need to know how to connect to your router and check this option, you will see the user manual or online help supplied by the manufacturer of your router because steps varies from a manufacturer (as well as models).

After that make sure you that DHCP is enabled, the next step will be to IPv4 each computer and IPv6 resolves to get automatically. To do this, take a look at the procedure in the below link and select obtain an IP address automatically for both types of connection.
    Change TCP/IP settings

    Hope that helps.

  • Dial-up access is connected, but Windows Vista says it isn't.

Well, I connect to my Dial-up connection and it connects to the internet, but it is extremely slower than it was.  Even if I'm networking Windows Vista connected icon, (computer two on the start to the right bar) has a X on it and when I pass the icon it says: "You are not currently connected to any networks." Now consider this issue further away, I'm heading on in the center network and sharing-> manage network connections-> right click on my connection Dial - up-> State.
These are the results of Word for Word:

    Connection:
    IPv4 connectivity: Not connected
    IPv6 connectivity: Not connected
    Media state: connected
    Duration: 00:44:33 (important)
    Speed: 9.6 Kbps (Also important)

However, that's my theory and I ask you guys if I'm wrong or not.  Because my connection is not actually connected to IPv4 and IPv6, it is extremely slow.  Still more slowly than usual Dial-up that's been frustrating me and my family for quite awhile.

Is there any solution for this?  I'm not using a modem and the phone jack is connected directly to the computer, I checked the wires and I'm sure they're fine.

    All,
Here are some steps to you all try to fix your network connectivity issues.  Some of you may have tried some of these steps, if so, just do not take into account.  Because there are several people involved in this thread, now I want to put all the possible corrections for the loss of connectivity.

    Network connection problems:
    http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/33307acf-0698-41ba-B014-ea0a2eb8d0a81033.mspx

To reset the stack TCP/IP go to this article and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/299357

    Disable the IP helpdesk:

1 hold the Windows key and type R, type "services.msc" (without the quotes) and press enter
    2. scroll down to the IP assistance service, right-click on it and select Properties
    3. in the drop-down list box that says "Automatic" or "Manual", set it to disabled and then click 'apply '.
    4. then click on "Stop" to stop the service from running in the current session
    5. click on OK to exit the dialog box

    Disable IPv6:
Try to uninstall IPv6 on all interfaces, the removal of virtual cards of IPv6 and reset the TCP/IP stack.  To remove the IPv6, go to the properties for each network adapter, and deselect the check box next to the Protocol "Internet Protocol version 6 (TCP/IPv6), which will turn off, or select it and click on uninstall, which withdraw power off the computer.»  Then go into Device Manager and remove any 4to6 adapters, adapters miniport WUN or tunnel adapters.

NOTE: You should do this for each network connection.

    Disable the DHCP Broadcast Flag:

    Link: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/928233
Important this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
322756 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/ ) how to back up and restore the registry in Windows

Windows Vista cannot obtain an IP address from certain routers or some non-Microsoft DHCP servers
To resolve this issue, disable the DHCP BROADCAST flag in Windows Vista. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, type regedit in the search box, and then click regedit in the list programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {GUID}
This registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the card network that is connected to the network.
On the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.
In the new area #1, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and press ENTER.

    To clear the DNS cache:
Click Start, type cmd in the search box, and then click cmd in the list programs.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
Once at the command prompt, type ipconfig/flushdns

Please post back and let us know if your problem is resolved or not.
