  I just got a question from a reader of my VQS. He wants to know how to "capture" the chapter number and chapter title to my chapters for footers in the document.

  I know how to make a model that is used for every single document that each chapter. These documents are collected in a book. Chapter numbers are set to "Automatic chapter numbering."

  But chapter numbers can only increase if documents are separate files assembled in a book. (At least, I think it's true.)

  But what happens if circulate you a paper with all the chapters within this single file? How to set chapter numbers to change automatically for footers? I suspect that you would need a variable text style paragraph or character as a footer. But how you get chapter numbers advance automatically?

  Would you use the bullets and numbering in the paragraph style?

  I know how to do these. I wonder what people would do for their workflow.

  You're right about the automatic chapter numbers - it's just one per doc.

  I think that I use a separate running header (character style) variable and try to pick up the number in the title of the chapter, if it is there or add a number of non-printing 'tag' on the first page of each chapter, if it is not.

  I have a client who wants that each subtitle to begin with a character back throughout the entire book. 21 chapters, about 4-5 subheadings by chapter - the opposite character will always be an R in the same font.   I don't think it's possible to reverse a single character, but here is an interesting workaround. Of jongware, (a common and helpful poster here), a demo of script that you can use to make a single font.

  Download the demo of a http://www.jongware.com/binaries/indyfont_demo.zipcharacter, unzip and copy to your user Scripts folder. Run the script once to set up a policing model, draw your character custom - the default value is a ball-and then run the script again to convert it into an OpenType font.

  You must return your letter R and convert it to text outline, and then use the script to make a font. You can not then set your style of subtitle to chips (your reverse R defined as the ball).

  The following requires a clear understanding of how things work within Foglight.  It's development work, not something you do casually.

  It is possible to create a custom group with roles with access to specific dashboards, with customized any forest docking versions (for example, exploration for alerts), give a specific dashboards allowed the role and then allow specific users are members of a group that has just rights for which enabled the role.

  Allowing access to only certain data in the dashboard is more interesting, according to the ease with which data can be separated using queries.  For example, how are you going to determine the geographic region for data?  If you are lucky enough to be able to distinguish the geographical region, for example, filtering against a hostname with a regular expression, or something similar, then you'll have a chance.

  I would like to at least talk to Professional Services about this before trying it yourself.  Or, you can wait for multi-tenant happen in a future release of Foglight.  He is rumored to be on the road map.

  To target a paragraph style that is in a folder, you will have to tunnel to him through groups of styles, thus:

  I try to print an Adobe completed on the web form and the page 8.5 x 11 print part of page about 6 times on a single sheet of paper.  It happened on Adobe documents and I was able to get around by saving the PDF file (downloaded from a site home utility) and then open it in Adobe Reader XI and printing.  This time I don't have the possibility to save it because I filled a form of Adobe (the system doesn't let me save the form in PDF format.)   My system: iMac 27 inch late 2009. OPERATING SYSTEM: OS X 10.9.4. Adobe Reader: XI, version 11.0.07. Printer: Canon Pixma MP490 (checked I have the latest drivers)
