Hello

What you could do is to create a new image using a 3rd party such as Norton Ghost for example application.

You might first install Windows XP using the Toshiba Recovery CD.
You could install the MS 3 service pack and then you can create the new image.

This image could be stored on the new CD, or as a file on the second partition.

I did it too. I ve got two partitions on my HARD drive and have created a backup of C (System partition) by using the spirit. The file is stored on D (data partition) and if something goes wrong with my Windows I can restore using this file.

Easy ;)

No, Windows 7 and Windows 10 require unique product keys and their respective installation files.

If I decide to buy online, some say it's downloadable, how can I reinstall it without using a CD?

Windows 10 is available as a digital download:

    Buy Windows 10 family/professional edition

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

I have PhotoShop CS6 for Mac, version 13.0.6.  When I make a selection using the lasso (or any other selection tool) and select 'Copy' and try to move the selection copied, nothing is copied.  What is going on?  I can't find an answer in my search for Abobe PS or the Web site, in general.

If you still use the selection tools when you try to move the contents of a selection, it will simply move the selection. If you want to move the content, use the tool move (but be aware that the default action is to cut; use Opt (Alt on Windows) to copy the selection by dragging).

Is it possible to make a reflection of the image that will change with the image?

I believe that a dynamic object will solve your problem.

Place your original image to a new file as a smart object and do the same for reflection (made by processing, reducing the opacity and introduce a slight blur horizontal) on its own layer, then:

by double clicking on the smart object in the layers panel and return to the original image, any change in the original and save, automatically update the vertical image and its reflection.

    Hello Stephen,

    There are two possibilities: -.

    1. your recovery CD is damaged in any way and cannot be read successfully during the restore process.

    2. you have a problem with your hard drive, and the restore process cannot write to it.

It is not easy to say what problem you have, but if you look closely at the restore process you should notice a change in his behavior just before that the error message occurs. Hopefully this should help you decide what problem you have.

Check if the light on your optical drive adopts a regular flashing sequence. This indicates an error reading the CD. Otherwise, if your hard drive takes a distribution of ordinary light and a light tapping its that may indicate a hard drive problem.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A300 - how to use the recovery with external DVD drive disc?

    Hello

    I bought a toshiba Satellite A300 - 15 d

FTM the tsscorp drive that is installed in the camera no longer works (does not detect any type of media what so ever). ) need to recover the laptop, so I used a USB DVD drive to boot from the restore disc, but after that the charges of recovery console it says waiting for media in the f: drive, which is the tsscorp drive although I used an external drive to load the disc.

What files should I edit to make it to load from the drive externally and if this isn't the solution, what do I do?

    Thanks in advance

    Hey Buddy,

Unfortunately I think that it of not possible to use the recovery with external CD/DVD drive disc. Therefore, place the internal for use the recovery disc.
You can get a new drive to an authorized service provider.

But if the original OS from Toshiba is installed, you can use the function of disk recovery HARD reinstall Windows as well. Go to the advanced boot menu (F8) and select Repair my computer :)

  • By using the Recovery Manager to repartition the HARD drive

I started a post a few days back on my pavilion DM1-3014AU netbook that runs on AMD APU-E350, 2 GB of ram and comes pre loaded with windows 7 Home Basic. I had a number of requests because I want to repartition the hard drive, do a fresh install of windows 7 my disc and I also want to keep some of the hp software.

After going through a few messages in this forum, I learned that we can use the Recovery Manager to do a minimal install, IE windows 7 and only the hp software. That's what I have to do unless I also want to repartition the hard drive.

I currently have 4 partitions, C drive, hp tools (hidden) and backup (hidden). I have already created recovery disks. Now, my questions are:-

    1. can I use recovery disks or Recovery Manager to delete all existing partitions and recreate my own partitions. This means that I would remove the recovery, tools and backup partitions.

    2. After doing the above I'll be able to do a minimal install (os + hp software) via the Recovery Manager or the recovery disks.

    3. my intutions are that I can accomplish the above two using the recovery disks and not the recovery partition. If the above two steps are possible using recovery discs, it would ultimately have no partition on my hard drive recovery. I will then be able to use the recovery disks in the future to make the same minimum install (os + hp software)

    4. I wouldn't really keep the recovery, tools and backup partitions if they can be of any complacency in the future but the reson why I want to delete them, is that windows 7 Home Basic allows no more than 4 partitions and I want to be able to create at least 4 partitions for my use.

Any help would be really appreciated...

Yes Vikrant... it is unnecessary to install UEFI to update BIOS.

Yes, if you install the update to the BIOS using the link I provided in my previous thead element, you can as a revert to a version of BIOS as soon as possible if you feel that the system is unstable.

Even if you reparition the whole HARD disk and do a manimized install, you can install the BIOS update in the future.

Updating the BIOS is independent if you did full recovery or minimizes recovery.

BIOS update will not affect the use of recovery disks and procedures. You can safely use them in the future without any problem.

You will use the ability to run F9 diagnostics incase of any software system crash, and you are unable to start Windows.

  • Return to Windows 7 by using the recovery partition

I installed Windows 8 on Windows 7 and want to go back to Windows 7 using the recovery partition.  Is it possible that I can do this?

No it is not possible, unless you make the recovery disks that copy the recovery on an external partition. This partition is unnecessary after windows installation 8. Consider using windows 8 and 8.1 upgrade and always start on the desktop instead of the Start Page. It is very similar to windows 7 with a few improvements.

  • Satellite Pro A200: How to create Dual boot; Vista & XP using the recovery CD

I just bought a laptop Satellite Pro A200, which was supplied with the product for Vista and XP Recovery discs.
The license specifically Vista also XP licenses.
Can I set up a dual boot so that I can boot to Vista or XP? If so, how?

I would also like a third boot, Red Hat Linux 9.
    Any comments?

Hmmm. Usually it s possible to use two or more operating systems on the computer, but as far as I know the Toshiba Vista recovery CD formats whole disk when installing Vista and this will lead to the loss of the OS installed.
I m not 100% sure on the recovery of the newest XP CD called RECON doesn t CD include an expert mode which allows to choose between the different partitions.

So I guess that each use the recovery CD will format the HARD drive and erase the installed data. But of course, you can try to install the two BONES and to check if the restore XP CD allows to choose the second part of the installation of the OS.

If it does not, it seems that you will need to an original XP from Microsoft CD or the original CD of Vista to use the two BONES.

    Best regards

  • Re: How to get Corel WinDVD without using the recovery disk?

The update for Corel WinDVD was rather messy and because of this some owners laptop uninstalled to try to install the new software. Now, we ended up with the only possibility of an image recovery, which, in practice, means losing the software.

Updates for the Bluetooth and wifi are also pretty messy.
Is isn´t possible to get this software back without using the recovery disk?

As you probably know recovery image installed on Toshiba laptops is a kind of software that includes the operating system, drivers, tools specific to Toshiba and utilities but also some additional software like antivirus or DVD player application.

All drivers and Toshiba tools and utilities are available on the Toshiba download page, and if you want to install the version of the OS, you can download each of them.
This additional software is not available for download. It's a kind of gift on the owner of the laptop because as the new owner, your machine must be ready to employment with full protection and opportunities to use multimedia content.

If you don't like it, you can remove the system and use your own applications.

Summary: this software cannot be downloaded separately and if you want to have it again, you must install original image of recovery designed for your machine.

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask.

  • Satellite A200: Can I use the recovery disc without wiping the drive

I read the threads on this forum, but I did not come with an exact answer to my problem.

With my regular PC, I got a disc of Installation of Vista, which is also a recovery disk (like that could do with XP). One of the most useful things is that when you start from the disc you have an option to "fix" the system, which means that all the vital files (such as the bootloader...) will be restored, but otherwise all data will remain. This is extremely important when for example you install a dual boot with Linux, when often Vista refuses to start and to repair the boot loader has solved the problem. Of course it can easily and quickly fix all kinds of other problems in the system as well.

My laptop Toshiba A200 (otherwise a wonderful machine), came with the Toshiba product recovery disc. From everything I read on the forum and what he says on the disc itself, I understand that it only allows a total reinstallation of the system, set at the factory, wiping your drive and everything on it.

Toshiba really leaves us without a 'repair' option '?
I find that quite amazing, because after all, I paid for the Vista operating system, so why shouldn't I get the options I would have if I had an original Vista disc?

If all the above I have is right, it means that if I want to install a dual boot with Ubuntu and would get a bootloader problem, I loose all my data when I have to repair the boot loader? (A problem which, with the option 'fix', takes only 5 minutes to fix!).

I would like to hear reactions, solutions, suggestions or alternatives.

    Thanks in advance,
    Yossi Beck

    Hey Yossi

I think you have misunderstood something!

You received with the image of Toshiba Toshiba Recovery CD! The image contains drivers Vista OS, Toshiba, tools, utilities, and additional programs!

Please don't compare this disc for the original CD of Microsoft Vista and don t mix it!

So using this disk, you can set the laptop back to factory settings!
This is very useful because this procedure takes about 10 minutes only and you get everything functioning OS with all the drivers, tools, etc.

Please note that no all users and customers who buy these phones are technicians and scientists ;) but simply newbie and such possibility of recovery is always welcome!

but the use of this recovery CD format the whole HARD drive and erases all partitions.
That is why it s advisable to back up the data before using the recovery CD/DVDs

  • How to use the recovery CD?

    Hello

Ive lost the instructions to tell me how to use the recovery CD. I forgot, I need to press to access the disks when I reboot!

    Can anyone help please?
    St. Clare

Hi clear, before using the recovery CD make you that all important data has been saved to the floppy or USB key because the procedure will erase the entire hard drive. The method for booting from a cΘdΘrom may vary according to the model number of your laptop, but it's something like hold the 'B' button for the Toshiba Startup logo. If this fails you can try to change the boot sequence or use the Toshiba from Windows or the BIOS configuration tool (ESC then F1 when prompted from a cold start) make CD-ROM the first device startup in the list.

  • Satellite 1805-S274: cannot reformat using the recovery CD!

I'm trying to reformat my computer laptop 1805-s274 Toshiba, using the Toshiba Recovery disk, but it won't work! The computer made an attempt to play the disc (which is in good condition, not damaged).
It goes to the "Welcome to Toshiba Recovery Utility" screen, and then when I press F1 to continue, it will to the "layout guard-Are you Sure you really want to do this?" screen. When I press 'C' to continue, it just goes back to the Toshiba start screen.

It keeps doing this cycle, but nothing else. I had problems with my attack Windows registry. They won the battle?

    Help, please! Thank you.

    Hello

Generally, it should be possible to recover the device with the CD of Toshiba recovery without any problem. Eventually, there is an error on the HARD disk.
You should try to format the HARD disk without using the Toshiba Recovery CD.
After the attempt to bring in shape to use the recovery CD again

    > but I can't make it work
And does that mean exactly? You get an error message if you use recovery disks or if you are not able to boot from them?

Use the recovery disks is very simple: enter the first DVD in your CD/DVD drive and restart your laptop. Depending on your model of laptop, press the F12 key to enter the BIOS boot menu, and then select the CD/DVD drive. Now, the computer starts from the CD/DVD drive with recovery disk. Then follow the instructions on the screen and Windows will re back reinstalled to factory settings (out of box).
