  I have tons of projects at the end of 6 effects.  One of the reasons why I joined Adobe cloud was because I want to update to os x, Mountain Lion and AE6 does not work on ML.  I just tried to open one of my old projects and get the error message "this file was created with an older version of After Effects [6.0(Macintosh PPC)] and cannot be opened.  You can convert this file using an older version of After Effects and re-record. "Well, I don't have access to my copy of AE6, is it possible through the cloud to Adobe to get a version of After Effects that will open these files, so I can up-conversion it?  Or any other method to get these files to open in the most recent version of the AE?  Re-building is not really an option, these are projects that are years and are continually updated with the text.

  CC and CC 2014 are separate apps, you can uninstall the version that is not necessary, CC 2014 is the latest version.

  I downloaded the demo of master collection adobe CS6 and most of the products have been able to download very well except a few, that which some I really care, but After Effects was unfortunately one of them and it is one of the reasons why I was downloading the collection. I looked at the system configuration required and discovered that the only version that could handle my laptop was CS4. Is it possible to download the demo version of this without download from shady sites? I just need to try it, even though it would be nice if it were free now.

  Make sure that you follow the Instructions very Important on this page first otherwise the links do not work.

  You can no longer buy After Effects CS4 and it's certainly not available for free even if it's a replaced version. So, you will get only 30 days out of it.

  CC PrPro, AfterEffects and SpeedGrade versions must be in the versions 'corresponding' to knit back and forth & back. Then... If you go to keep the AE comps 'living' or change, you will need the same version of AE also. I suggest also using a copy of the original files, save their project in which case do not work in older programs. And... you can have CS6 and a CC version of the 'same' on-line applications on your computer.

  We have a good number of servers running Windows Server 2008 64 bit.  We also wanted to use these boxes and wanted to know if it is possible to use them as slaves with After Effects rendering?  Anyone doing this?  We found nothing to a Windows Server 2008 system configuration.

  I had the problem solved. Thank you for your help. I had to get help from an engineer, I know. It's fast enough, but it looked like he deleted the old and installed the new and it seemed that perhaps the launch could have the issue? Not exactly, it's almost as if the launch was set for the old version... but don't want to send someone on the cause of the bad way, I don't know, but he later installed to firefox 38.1 or another... the 29.
