My friend

To install the drivers for Windows 7, you need Windows 7 on your machine. It runs now Ubuntu then drivers or any update for Windows 7 will not work.

Kind regards

PS. I'm very close to 67, can I call you a friend?

Should Microsoft Vista drivers operate printer Brother HL-1240? I recently downloaded updates for Vista, and now I can no longer print on my printer Brother HL-1240. Updates are perhaps the cause of this problem? If this isn't the case, please let me know if I get the problem somewhere else.

    Hello

Your question is could a Windows Update may be charged a wrong Brother Printer Driver? Yes.

One way to know is to look in the history of updates to see what has been installed and uninstall then one that seems incorrect.

If you are an update of the Microsoft printer driver note that Microsoft updates pilot equipment for other manufacturers are not normally updated.

    Here's how to uninstall specific updates;

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

If an update is the problem and stop it reinstall > list of updates to install > right click on the incorrect update > UAC prompt > and then click Hide.

    See you soon.

p.s. Always get the latest updates of the driver from the hardware manufacturer.

Also would it be a good idea if above does not work to download the last direct Brother printer driver; If necessary reinstall your printer...

  • Cannot download updates for GPS Magellan map

I have the available map updates for my gps and Magellan had verified that there is no problem with the unit.  They say that my computer is blocking the download.  Whenever I get the message: download error. Plese try again.  I disabled the firewall and security system, but the problem persists.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

Is downloading fault or any installation after the download?

What browser do you use?  Try to clean your temporary Internet files, Cookies, and browsing history.  If it's IE try temporarily disabling Protected Mode.  Take a look at IE / Tools / Internet Options / Security / Protected Mode.  Quit and restart IE.

See if you can get the download (manually) on another machine and and copy it to your machine.

You use a download manager that you can stop using to test with.

You can check in in "Safe Mode with network.

Vista Advanced Boot Options (or 7)

Which firewall do you use, whatever this is, with the exception of the Windows Firewall will need to be uninstalled to test correctly as catastrophic protection is not sufficient in most cases, as many parameters remain active.  Also make sure and .exe download update is given through the authorization.

Do you have a router or Modem, with any built-in firewall which can be disabled and tested?

No registration necessary data and re - install Windows 7 might be the best option, but here are a
    few others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer or an external hard drive enclosure, then
saving them. Do this using several methods to redundantly. Of course, a real computer
Shop or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel
-Double click - Driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - device Manager - map - graph
then right click on the device and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
is CTRL + ALT + DEL and the processes tab find EXPLORER.exe and END PROCESS on it.
then on the tab Applications - lower right - new task - the type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is
accessible by tapping F8 as you start several times.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all hotfix is usually a hit or miss
base. That there is no information on a black screen as there is just a blue screen
adds to the difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect.
You can try a google to see the proposed repairs, whom some have worked however these
cover a wide field of efforts.

  • My computer has multiple problems (downloads, updates, drivers, software...) which I think could be connected.

Everything I download becomes corrupted somehow or is unable to run. I tried to UN - and reinstall the Zune software (because my computer had ceased to recognize my Zune while it is plugged), but when I tried to install it again, I got a "not a win32 application invalid" notification. I tried several times to download updates, but they still run into an error before completing. My mouse cursor freezes or moves around / clicks on its own occasionally. My internet connection is extremely slow and unreliable, despite the fact that the connection has recently been updated and given a more secure password. I tried to run a system restore in the hope that it would be useful, but which failed due to a program that could not be accessed. I disabled Avast! (I also have Malwarebytes can't see how to turn off) and ran the system restore again, but met the same problem. I think it was a virus, but I ran Avast! "s boot time scan run Malwarebytes in safe mode, and the problems continue.

I'm sure a couple of them at least are pure coincidence, but most of my problems appeared recently (about three weeks) ago and I have been fighting with them since. This is what gives me a thought that they are connected. Does anyone have an idea of what my problem, or how I might solve this problem?

Here are some other things you can check. Get your updated antivirus program and start safe mode. Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan mode without failure. To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode. Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem. To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore. Click on the box that says show more restore points.

    -

You can check the corrupted system files. Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE and click run as administrator. Then, from the command prompt type sfc/scannow.

    -

Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log. To make, click Start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools. Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.

When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and make it regular periodic updates.
