Do you see even registered?

In general - you should leave well enough alone when it comes to patches.  Microsoft does a job just to install only the parts of a patch which aren't already in place - so, even if you started without service pack, got SP1, SP2 and SP3 as well as 100 + post-SP3 fixes - this is not as if the use of space was exactly cumulative...  The overlap himself would have worked.

  • Problems with Service Packs - when you try to install Service Pack 2, it says I have to install SP1. When I try to install SP1, it says that I have already.

My automatic update did not work, so I went to the site to try to download Service Pack 2, one seemed to have trouble with my computer. After I downloaded it, I tried to run, but he said I had to download Service Pack 1. So I did it. When I try to run this file, it says I have already installed Service Pack 1. So I tried to restart the Service Pack 2, but she is always claiming that I need Service Pack 1. I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Can anyone help? I'd be happy.

  • How can I solve this problem of 'Two versions of Adobe', then only the most recent version remains activated, the old version remains DISABLED, and/or uninstall the old version?

I went to my addons tab, and I have, in fact, have two versions of shockwave flash, a 11.9... version and a 13.9, which, if I'm not wrong, is the latest version. There is a 'request to activate, activate always, never activate' button for EACH module. I clicked on never turn on the old version and the closed tab. I then tried to play a video on the Web. He would not play, I tried another site with the same result, so I went back to my tab add-on, and the button for the old version had changed again to "always enable" in itself. He continues to repeat this, and WILL NOT stay on "never activate. Whenever I return to the page complementary modules, THE NEW VERSION IS DISABLED, SO THAT THE OLD ONE. I tried to uninstall the old version, but when I go into Control Panel and make the contents of the file, the old version is not yet there. I did start, search and typed in "Adobe", and the old version is NOT FOUND! The two versions to change back the turn on button and they both will disable themselves, no matter how many times I fix it! SMH!

No worries, I was just starting.

The Flash plugin is stored in this folder:

    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

The filenames for the plugin in Firefox have this model:

    NPSWF32_13_0_0_206.dll

where the middle part (not in bold) is the version number of the plugin.

Update from Adobe should normally remove older versions, but if they are actively used, it is possible that the update is not able to remove them.

If you find the file, try to delete or move the temporary office.

Firefox may not immediately realize that the file has disappeared, but hopefully that will detect only after the next time you're out and start it back up when it updates its scan plugins.

    A little luck?

  • Slows down the Vista Service Pack 2

I installed Service Pack 2 on a good month and a half after my PC crashed and I got a new hard drive. Because I had never used the SP 2 on my older HDD I was not aware of the difference between the two.

It seems now whenever my Trend Micro antivirus installs the updates my PC slows down considerably. I did a little investigation and found out that Vista Service Pack 1 must be used. Can I uninstall SP2 and still use the SP 1, which came on my PC?

    Thank you, Patricia

Why not, if it's an old, update your version of trend?

  • Increase the memory by deleting the old service paks.

Can I remove the old service paks, updates and free memory on my hard drive?

Can I remove the old service paks, updates and free memory on my hard drive?

Not the way you think about it no doubt.

When you install Windows updates, the system stores the information that can be used if you decide that you want to uninstall this update.  If decide you want to NEVER uninstall the updates, you can delete these folders from $ $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx (though it would be prudent to burn these files on a CD first).  For instructions, seehttp://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm

There are several other things you can do to free up hard disk space, although more sooner rather than later, you should just buy a larger hard drive.  You may be able to add a second hard drive if you have a desktop computer with a vacant drive bay or you can simply replace your existing with a larger hard drive.  Where you replace, you would "clone" existing than newer, bigger hard drive in order to preserve all your applications and data.

    In the meantime:

Run Disk Cleanup: start > run > cleanmgr > OK

Make sure that the system restore use not more than about 1 GB. See http://bertk.mvps.org/html/diskspace.html

If you use Hibernation, consider disabling.  It's not earning a lot of disk space: hibernation uses a quantity of disk space equal to the amount of RAM you have.  Control Panel > Power Options > hibernation.

Uninstall applications you do not use.

Download and run JDiskReport (it's free, and you can uninstall it when you're done).  This will show you what files are too much space on your hard drive so that you can decide what, if anything, you are ready to delete (or move to other storage media) in order to save space.
