Is my PC infected with a program called "Your PC Protector".

It seems that my PC is infected by malicious software, and if so, I want to alert other people to the problem.  I started to get a series of annoying popups on my computer tells me that the malware is detected, my PC was in danger, for example.  These have increased in frequency until they became disruptive.  Clicking on it opens a window in which an unknown part tries to sell you something called "Your PC Protector".  Finally, when I started my computer I got a green screen warning that "your system is infected, system has been shut down due to a serious malfunction.  I guess that no real company would do that.  Is this a phishing program?

Again, the supposed software is "Your PC Protector", it is allegedly produced by a company called ADC, Ltd.  Files that are apparently causing this activity have been downloaded on my computer February 7 and 8.  When I look at them, they list no editor.  Be wary.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite - (A200-1 body weight; PSAECE-00U01EAV) that I bought 6 months ago.

It came with Windows Vista Ultimate OEMA (and I believe that one of my friends loaded upward the first patch of service for me...)

I recently downloaded a Traktor Pro software (which is a set of digital mixer). After the download, I installed the package and it worked very well. The next day I went to start my laptop and all I get is the screen bootloader... and my only option is to restart from disk (i.e. compensation vista) which means that all my saved documents are lost!

I was told that there could be problems with vista and traktor pro - are you aware of everything?

How can I reboot my computer without losing all my data?

    Thank you

It's a little confusing because you have written on your computer restarts. Normally, you can restart if you shut down the laptop and then start.

You can start in safe mode?

On the site of Traktor Pro I founded that the required configuration is Vista with SP1. Have you installed SP1 before Traktor Pro?

If you can start Windows t even in safe mode there is no way except the installation of recovery.
But you can backup your data if you put the HARD drive in the external case and you can save the data on another PC or boot to a Linux CD and then copy the data to an external device.

I tried to verify that my windows update check to be sure that I was getting my automatic updates. I was unable to connect to Windows update, no matter how many times I tried. This never happened before. So, I thought that my inability to connect to verify Microsoft Updates could be related to my computer running at a slow speed and / or gel constantly upward. When the computer froze, the only way to recover was to hit the kill switch and crash the computer. After the reboot, the computer could work normally for a period of minutes and resume again slow down and not to freeze completely upwards. Hey CassiusVa,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Forum!

Since when are you facing the issue?

Can I know the version of Ventrilo you use on your computer?

It may be that World of Warcraft focuses on your audio hardware.  You can try to reduce the audio settings in WoW to see if this makes the use of Ventrilo better.  It may also be a driver problem.  I would check to make sure that you have the latest drivers for your audio device.

Use the following steps to ensure that the audio drivers are up to date.

    1. connect to the Internet.

    2. click on start and enter the Device Manager in the start search field.

    3. click on the plus sign next to sound, video and game controllers.

    4. right click on the name of the sound material and select software update of the driver...

    5. click on search automatically for a driver updated and wait for Windows to update the driver software.

6 Windows checks a remote Web site to see if the update of the driver software is available.

    * If an update is available, let Windows install the update.

    * If an update is not available, proceed to the next step.

    7. once the update is successfully installed, test the microphone.

Please follow the steps below and check if you still have questions echo.

Go into Ventrilo Setup and select mixer for the sound card, which will be the audio input (as determined by the "Input device" option) device. This will populate the Mux and line options. Normally it would take only a Mux. It is possible that you may have many options of the line. Go ahead and select "Microphone" or anything that is appropriate for the input line and then click OK.

    This should solve the problem.

Please note that you select mixer, mux and line will allow the "Hardware Volume" slider This gives you the control hardware on the audio input signal and is the best way to control how strong you are. Setting the cursor to halfway better seems to work for most people, but it will be hardware and system load.

You can also browse the links for more information on ventrilo and try to contact them if the problem persists.

  • fsmgroup called sayinhg that my computer has been infected with spyware

I had been contacted by twice saying that you had advised the (supposedly legitimate third-party provider you?) to call me as my computer ID showed that I had been infected with spyware + report fsmgroup error warning. I carefully allowed them remote access where they have ran spyware inf and demonstrated on a 1000 Trojans.  I said several times that I wasn't going to buy anything and they said that they were not selling anything and that they were working on your behalf for me rid of bugs that will eventually lead to my PC to hang with a blue and black screen. However, the only way to solve the problem was to buy a plan. When I refused to purchase the plan, they started the files removed from my spyware in location, despite my asking them to stop - I turned off my computer to stop. I asked them why they did not respect my wishes and they couldn't answer. The person said it had deleted the wrong file and then hung up.  I caused damage to my computer. I can see no longer the same disks and I thought that it had removed the demand of c: Windows drive | INF.  There still a lot of files in this folder (more than 1000) which have been reproduced with an extention. PNF.  Are these files malicious indeed, if yes, what can I do? Also it damage by deleting anything in this area. I ran Malwarebytes and found no errors.

I am very concerned. Please can you help.

  • I think I got several phony calls claiming that my computer is infected with spyware.

I think I got several phony calls claiming that my computer is infected with spyware. They said that they were connected with Windows, so I asked if they were Microsoft and they said that no Microsoft would not call me. Wouldn't be a darn good Microsoft. The guy was Indian or Pakistani and wouldn't give me a company name, no matter how many times I asked.

They said they received reports from my computer it has been infected. The last call I let them go through their process to prove to myself that my computer has been infected. They told me to go to the event viewer, logs of windows, applications and said there will be errors and warnings there.

It was proof that he was infected and that they wanted to give me their approval to scan my computer so their 'Microsoft engineers' can solve the problem with Windows tools. At this point, after 20 minutes, I denied their access to the computer and hung up that it had no proof that I was worried. One of our friends had the same call on fixing Windows sound, she had an Apple Mac, I would have liked to see their difficulty its version of Windows.

I have 3 questions for this and they are: -.

1 can. anyone if your computer is infected using the event viewer?

2 can they tell if she is infected when the computer has a firewall and is also behind a router with a firewall?

    3. I would be right in thinking that there is another form of the scam fake phone call?

    1. If possible, get the errors or warnings in the event viewer is quite common, but say you have a virus just based on that, it's simply stupid.

    2. they do what is called call cold. They call every phone # in the phone book and say "your computer is infected" even if you do not, Yes, it's a scam and yes they are stupid.

    3. Yes. The only way they would be able to tell if your computer has a virus would be if they had access to it, and if they have BEEN with microsoft, which is not, it would be a breach of privacy.

    Hi law7315,

I went to https://www.golden1.com/flash/zapit/zapit_demo.html and saw their troubleshooting positions related to the analysis of errors and things to check.

Based on information on this site and the info you provided; (according to the web site), the issue is probably with the driver.

When scanning the audit using this app, then select your scanner, the printer correct make and model appears in the list?

Have you tried to temporarily connect the printer via USB and a retry of the analysis?

If scanning via USB works and scans all otherwise work them wireless. then there could be something in the network blocking request analysis and/or verification of the local ports for imaging devices.

As I am not familiar with the program, I can't say whether, but those who would be issues I would recommend that you ask them if USB works.

    I hope this helps!
