Is there a life restricted to a test .ipa file installed on an iPad?

I'm curious, I have a project that has stalled at the stage of being in tests. It is installed on an iPad via the .ipa file. This test application survive indefinitely on the iPad? I want to keep it there as a portfolio piece. The certificate configuration run out and the app fails at some point?

Just curious!
Thank you. : jaj

The certificates have an expiration date, and when strikes your likely app launch no more.
