Is WiFi REALLY connected?

See an issue where RadioInfo.getActiveWAFs said that the wifi is active but he phone is not actually connected to the wifi router. This is reflected in the symbol of wifi bit on screen phone in gray instead of white. Is there a way to tell if the phone has Wi-Fi really works or is:

(RadioInfo.getActiveWAFs () & RadioInfo.WAF_WLAN)! = 0

the best we can do?

  • Icon data while the WiFi is connected?

I noticed that the 4g data icon lights when a WiFi connection is active on my Razr Maxx. Is this a normal behavior?

The reason why I ask this is because the 3g icon used to disappear on my Droid X, when the WiFi is connected, I thought that the Maxx would behave in the same way.

    6.12.181.XT912 running

Yes, it is normal on the Razr product. However, when you do something that involves the transfer of data, the upper and down arrows below 4G must not light up. If they do, then you are actually still transfer data via the cellular network and not your WiFi connection.

    Hello @adityarai82,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! The forums are a great place where you can find solutions for your problems, with the help of the community!

I read your post about the WiFi problem and wanted to help you!  I understand that you have tried the troubleshooting steps a lot already, without success.

Try to review these steps, offered by community member @Great-Christine-Tree:

First of all, we have a step by step guide to guide you through the process of diagnosis here:
Troubleshooting your wireless network and Internet access

A second option is to try the following steps:
    Powercycle the network:
    1. turn off your laptop.
    2. unplug the power to your router.
    3. disconnect the power to your modem.
    4. wait at least 45 seconds.
5 reconnect the modem and wait for it to come back online.
6 plug in the router and wait for it to come back online.
    7. turn on your laptop and test your connection.

Turn off the power to the adapter:
    1. open Device Manager. (Win Key + R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
    2. expand the network adapters.
    3. right click on the Ethernet adapter / wireless, and then click Properties.
    4. click on the power management tab.
5 remove the check mark next to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
    6. click on OK.
    7 test cycle.

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

It can also help to reset the winsock catalog:
    1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
    2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
    3. in the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes, and then press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

    Reinstall the NIC drivers:
    1. download the drivers from here , but do not run them again.
    2. go to your Start menu/screen and type Device Manager.
    3. expand network adapters.
    4. right click on the wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
5 install the drivers downloaded in step 1.
    6. restart your PC and test.

    Test an ethernet connection:
Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.

    Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.

If these steps do not resolve the problem, try this document published by Microsoft for network management issues: wired and wireless network problems. You can change the operating system with the drop-down list in the upper right of the document.

  • Satellite L630 WiFi not connecting

I just bought a Satellite L630 laptop PC series and find that it does not connect to my WiFi network at home.

The computer sees the network as being available, and when I enter my password, it tries to connect, but said then it's impossible.

I tried the troubleshooting option, but everything he suggested was to turn off the modem and turning it back on (which I did, without result). I tried to change the various parameters of security, also without success.

My modem/router wireless home is 3 1/2 years old (a Billion BiPAC 7402GL), so I wonder if it's compatibility problems?

My desktop computer at home (also 3 1/2 years!) to connect without problems to my wireless home network, and my new laptop connects perfectly to the wireless network when I'm at work, so I have really no idea what is the problem.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    > My modem/router wireless home is 3 1/2 years old (a Billion BiPAC 7402GL), so I wonder if it's compatibility problems?
    It is possible

    > The computer sees the network as being available, and when I enter my password, it tries to connect, but said then it's impossible.
This means that the WiFi network is successfully activated.
    In your case, I would check the WLan card settings first;
I put t know this standard you are using (802 11A B G or N), but you must make sure that wireless card WLan is set to the same WLan standard that is used by the WLan router.
Go to Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab to check these options.

Make sure that you have selected good encryption (WEP, WPA - psk, WPA, etc.) and the correct password

  • IOS 10.0.2 WiFi not connecting

    Hello

This morning, I had a problem with my IPad 4 (MK6J2B/A) and my Iphone 6s (MKQN2B/A).

Both devices unloaded during the night and the charge in the morning, both devices would not connect to my WiFi (BT Home Hub 6) even though they have both been previously connected to my WiFi for weeks. Both have a checkmark beside the connection, but not the WiFi icon in the upper left corner. Safari says not connected to the internet. I tried several thing, like plane, reset BT Hub etc., but both have refused to sign. I did a reset on both devices and the Iphone came back and logged in as normal. However, the Ipad has refused to connect or at least with the WiFi icon.

Surfing on the net and found a large number of people with the same problems. Followed suggestions, as I forgot network password and enter again, reset network etc, but nothing has worked. The only option to reset the whole device and start again. BUT when I tried to remove and delete, of course has been asked to enter my Apple ID to continue. No internet so would not remove.

I have a hotspot Wifi BT close to home then I connected with that and she. This should make me stop and think that it was something inside the House, but once again, SO I continued and deleted the IPad. From the start of my cool Ipad, follow the instructions until it is necessary to connect to the internet. Had even a tick but no icon of Wifi and no internet, so no way to rebuild or restore my Ipad. SCREAMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Out the laptop to rebuild through iTunes, which was obsolete, then click on update and google in the meantime, no problems with the iPad, but with iPad connection to BT Home hub 6. Found a very small post with similar problems and he said to disconnect the hub (WIRED) AppleTV. As soon as I pulled the plug on the AppleTV my iPad connected instantly.

Wow what a waste of two hours of my life. Don't know if it's hub problem AppleTV or BT, or both, but my AppleTV is now to stay on the WiFi connection and NO cable connection in the future.

Hope that my pain will help someone else to solve the same problems.

So thank you for much for this!

I had this thing this morning, 1 iPad a household of 6 different devices does not connect.  My Apple TV has been connected via WIFI, I just turned off of Apple TV - box and connected iPad itself.

This happened only a day after the installation of a HomeHu6...

  • Anyone with the problem of not show apple tv on the same wifi to connect the new application remote control (with the last operating system both on device)?

Tried to connect the new (launched in July 2016) Apple Remote app, I'm not able to add the Apple Tv from my iphone (5 c), because it does not show apple tv to connect even on the same wifi. I use the latest os on iphone and TVos 9.3.3.

9.3.3 isn't the latest version of the software for your phone or your Apple TV.

Try the following steps for the Apple TV 4, check if things work after each step if necessary, before you try the next.

    1. Restart the Apple TV (settings > system > restart).
    2. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL cables for 30 seconds.
    3. Restart your router. (Also try to remove the power cord for at least 30 seconds)
  • wifi iPhone connectivity issues

I have an iPhone 6 who has struggled to find and stay connected to wifi networks. If I'm right in a router, I am able to connect and use my phone without difficulty. However, as soon as I Dodge, it loses the connection and can not find the network even if I go into wifi and try to connect.

So far I tried to reset the wifi settings that don't work. I also tried to restore to the factory settings but nothing works.

My phone is out of warranty, so I can't get it looked at. It is safe to say that it is a hardware problem? If so, what part needs to be replaced?

I don't know if this is related, but google maps and Waze don't work well, because it is said my "GPS is not available."

If you have suggestions aby, it would be great!

    Try instead this reset...

Tap Settings > general > reset > reset all settings, and then restart your iPhone and then try a Wi - Fi connection.

If this does not help, remove the WAZE app then restart your iPhone and try again Wi - Fi.

It may be that the third-party application is originally a network conflict.

Re, you can download the WAZE app if necessary.

  • How to use wifi when connected to another computer?

I am currently in a situation where I need screen sharing another mac via ethernet with my thunderbolt, while the Wifi adapter. I have a 2014 the computer I want to see is a new Mac Mini and Macbook Pro screen. When we are connected by ethernet, none of my wifi signal works, even if I am logged in. My computer is looking for internet connection coming from the mac mini, but that is not connected to the internet. As soon as I unplug my shot of lightning/Ethernet, then my wifi starts immediately to the top. In any case to be connected to my wifi, as well as the other computer by ethernet at the same time? Thank you

    Steve

    Your description is disconcerting.

Do not run cables on the carpet between the computers. Connect all devices to your router or switches that connect to your router, or via Wi - Fi to your router.

You have a SINGLE network. Some devices can be connected by Ethernet and others by Wi - Fi, but it's the same network.  There is no need to have all devices to use the same media. Ethernet is the fastest connection you can do, so if you have an Ethernet connection, Wi - Fi can be "".

As long as each device can get on the Internet at the same time without rewiring, you can also do a computer connection to computer whenever you want.

  • WiFi is connected but not functional

I never lose the wifi connectivity, I always have full bars on a personal network an Airport extreme, but literally dozens of times a day my download speed will crash at 0 until I start the wifi of my computer. My phone, on the same network, never faced this problem. Download works usually, although my Airplay device, located on the same network, has lately been stuttering much more than he does. I tried fiddling with DNS settings, configuration the Server 8.8.8.8 and vice versa and had no luck.

Go step by step and test.

    1. turn off the power to the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.

Plug it in, back to the wall. Turn on the router. Wait for all lights are light up properly. It will take a while.

    Restart the computer.

    Boot mode safe.

    Hello

Such universal utility does not for me.

Toshiba Wireless manager manages the profiles of 3G.

Management profile and Wlan connectivity, you can use the TOSHIBA Configfree
    Here are some details:
