ISO product key?

Hello.

UH... Dv6 - 7267cl running Windows 8.1 ENVY

LSS: My father-in-law fell for one of these scams of ransom of customer service. Some guy called, convinced him install the remote access software, is made or infecting him not by malware (now makes no difference), and when he refused to pay for them to 'fix' him locked using syskey. I understand that this is a very common scam.

Point being that I was able to recover his files with a universal adapter for USB hard drive and am trying to re-setting up Windows after a clean install. Problem is when I try to activate it, it requires a product key, that I don't have. I got the link from iso for this thread:

(Windows Vista, 7 and 8 ISO / Image files download links, where the link is not post)

It is my understanding from his machine, the product number would suffice. Now, I read more about this thread and see something need to change the iso file before installation in order for this to happen. So, I have to start? Another cost to install? Because if this is the case, it would be nice if some mod could change the OP post to reflect the fact that, if this does not happen to other people.

Hello:

If the laptop comes with the W8 (specifications of product indicated for this), you cannot use a detail file install W8 because Microsoft is returned at the time where you must use the same type of installation media that the product key is for.

For example: W8 OEM must be reinstalled with a set of recovery disks or W8 OEM installation media.

So... your options as I see them are:

1. see if you can reset the computer to its factory settings using the Recovery Manager program.

See info below.

http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03489643

If method 1 does not work then...

2. order a set of recovery disc W8 for this model by clicking on the link below and then click to expand the order recovery media line and then click on the blue button more details.

http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4132&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=5312225

3. post Hüffer reading on the link below to access a W8 x 64 OEM installation file.  This file should work with the W8 product key encrypted in the BIOS.

  • Can't download Windows 7 Pro 64 bit Disc Images (ISO files) with the license product key

A few months ago, I bought a laptop with Windows 7 Pro 64 bit pre-installed, used with supplied installation disc. There is a hologram sticker COA affixed to the laptop with a product key. I used this key to activate the phone without problem. I was then able to install SP1 and various other updates over time.

Recently, I decided that I should have a Windows installation disc (Windows Update has slowed to a crawl and doesn't, and I maybe to repair or reinstall it with the disk).

I have entered my product key on Microsoft Web page to 'Download the Windows 7 disc Images (ISO files)'. But I got an error message:

"The product key you have entered seems to be for software pre-installed by the manufacturer of the device. Contact the manufacturer of the software device for recovery options. »

Running 'Winver' shows that my product is authorized.

Running "slmgr.vbs - dli" shows the partial product key and license status "allowed."

  • / boot/error bcd - W7 installed since ISO - no pre-installed product key valid when used

    Hello

I have a laptop HP dv6-6138 NR, 64 bit, Windows 7 Home Premium pre-installed OA edition. Last week, my computer crashed after installing Flash HD and showed the mistake \boot\bcd 0xc0000225 error.

I couldn't do a system recovery, because there was no image that is spent on the computer that I went for a clean install with the repair disc I had created. Measures desperate - and downloaded an ISO of W7 to the MSFT forum file and went used imgburner to burn it to a DVD.

Then, to restart my laptop with this DVD in the installed Windows CD with my existing windows file that is stored in a folder called "windows.old". Unfortunately, I wasn't able to use the same product key as it was at the bottom of the laptoop. So, I jumped by giving the product key (I'll be ok for 30 days, I guess).

Now, I ordered a set of HP recovery disk. What should I do now to recover my factory settings on? Should I format the drive and it run the new recovery disc, I will get?

    Please advise...

    Hello

    You are welcome

Yes, that would explain why the key does not work - you can use it on the version of Windows that came with your laptop (ie you can upgrade or downgrade the version).

HP recovery discs should work fine and activation will be automatic.

A downloadable ISO for Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit is on the following link.

    http://MSFT.digitalrivercontent.NET/win/X17-59007.ISO

If using the image above, enter your activation key when prompted - you will always very probably use the 'method of phone' to complete activation.

    Best regards

  • Can I use my original product key for one. ISO downloaded from torrent?

I own a HP Pavilion dv6 came pre-installed with Win 7 - SP1. It of almost 3 years and have become very slow & does not. He deserves better HARD drive format integer & clean installation. So, a few days before I tried to create a restore of the media. But the message was the recovery cannot be created once & was even created prior to my computer. I absolutely do not remember having the Media Recovery created before. Went to the HP forum as the preinstalled Windows not supported Microsoft. They have provided links in multiple threads to download. ISO file. But all servers are down & I couldn't find one. ISO file to download. So, I thought that to restore the system until the servers are on the rise again. Yesterday I tried the system restore. While the system restore worked, suddenly the program have been broken between the two & restarted the laptop. As soon as the screen came, the message was "Boot Manager is missing:(".). Really, I can't wait until the servers are up because I need it for my daily work activities. What is the solution?

Because of the urgency, I asked one of my friends to get one. ISO downloaded torrent. Now, I'll have the. ISO downloaded torrent. Can I install this torrent OS and replace the product key of mine?

    Thank you

    Haritsa

Whether or not you can find your backup 'Restore media', you can restore to factory state using the integrated HP utility on the computer.  The procedure is on the manual of your computer & also on the HP website.

'Restore media' is a utility from HP if you need to go to the computer's documentation to find out exactly what it is.  It is quite likely to do a backup of a HP built-in utility to restore your computer to its State "factory".  You may find that the computer has prompted to do this backup 'Restore Media' when you first received the computer.  If you lost it then you still have the integrated method of origin for the restoration of the "factory" that HP put on your computer.  The idea of backup 'Restore media' is to give you a second method to do this restoration 'factory' and to be able to do if you need to replace the hard drive.

  • I have a product key for a pre-installed version of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, now I need an ISO standard for installation in a virtual machine

    Hello

I bought a refurbished machine that came with Win 7 Pro pre-installed. I erased the HARD drive. Completely. Nothing more.

I don't want Win 7 installed on the drive, but I need an ISO to install it in a virtual machine for research reasons.

I tried to download the ISO of http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery, but when I gave the product key, I got a response that I should turn to the vendor of the computer and that is preloaded.

When I did and asked an ISO, they told me to download from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery. This seems to be the only source for Windows ISOs left in the world.

So, I run long in circles... infinte loop... :-(

How can I solve this misery?
