issue between Vista OS and Norton Internet Security 2010

I recently installed Norton internet Security 2010

I have Vista Home premium 32-bit with SP2 for Vista

The installation of the program Norton Internet Security 2010 went well. It seems to work

However, I note that Norton Internet Security indiacted a mistake involving module them ccSvcHst

the error message indiacating

Norton detected some sort of error with ccSvcHst.exe function program and the error code was

0 x 80070490

can someone tell me what this means? I seem to be able to get my updates of Norton and my Microsoft updates without problem

This error means that my Norton Security is NOT working?

    Hello
I have a problem with my laptop Toshiba Portege R200. After the new installation of MS Windows XP Professional with SP2 and all recommended Toshiba drivers and utilities and the installation of Norton Internet Security 2005 AntiSpyware Edition laptop starts repeatedly with delay. The delay is manifested by jump for 1 to 2 minutes between when the icons are loaded on the desktop and programs (their icons) are loaded into the system tray. In this break, the system tray has no answer to all actions and the CPU is fully charged (the fan continues its maximum). In addition, sometimes the computer doesn´t wake up from sleep or hibernation mode.
I saw this problem with Symantec Corp., and they confirmed my suspicions that some Toshiba drivers or utilities collide with Norton Internet Security system services, but they don t know which of course.

I want to ask you if you know something about this problem because there are a lot of utilities and drivers Toshiba and it is impossible to just try on which we put problem and it is also impossible to use Norton Internet Security on my laptop.

I would like to add that all used Toshiba drivers and utilities are up-to-date as well as MS Windows XP and Norton Internet Security. The computer has certainly no viruses as well.

    Thank you.

    Hello Martin

I had the same problem with the Satellite P20 (1 GB of RAM). I installed the Sophos anti-virus application and after that, I noticed the same situation. The delay is certainly due after installing antivir software. I deleted and everything works fine now.

It makes sense that the software companies are trying to complain of producers for laptop but my experience is that Toshiba has designed tools and utilities have no influence on the applications of antivir. I recommend you to test different applications with antivir. I tested it with Trend Micro PC - cillin Internet security and AntiVir guard. Two of them works well, and I noticed that the problem has disappeared.

    Good bye

  • Install or not to install: "Webroot Antivirus with spy sweeper" and "Norton Internet security".

original title: install or have not installed?

I am very confused about the difference between "Webroot Antivirus with spy sweeper" and "Norton Internet security". They are both asking me to click on install. They provide the same service? What one do need me more? Windows 7 is already a certain protection/security installed in? I'm afraid to install anything that is not "Microsoft". I heard that too much protection can get an infected computer. My new computer is not yet a year old, I want to keep it in good shape for as long as possible.

The real risk of installing more of an anti-virus program is that they do not work well together and can cause system performance slow and computer lock-up and others.  You should only choose an antivirus product and install it.  Microsoft Windows comes with a limited program called "Windows Defender" that protects against spyware/adware, but no virus, but if you prefer a Microsoft solution, you can download and install "Microsoft Security Essentials" that offers more protection.  Personally, I also use and recommend MSE and have never had a problem with it.

Make sure that you uninstall Webroot and Norton Internet Security before installing MSE.

  • Norton Internet Security 2010 automatically close Windows Defender? __

    My set up:

Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium, Vista SP2

    HP Desktop

    Modem DSL Connection

    Norton Internet Security 2010

I just installed Norton Internet Security 2010. I get a pop up notice of Windows indicating that Windows Defender is disabled. When I had Norton Antivirus/spyware 2008 (that I used until the installation of Norton Internet Security 2010) Windows defender was on, but not in real time.  Then, when I'd go to

The Task Manager > click on the Services tab > click on the Services button in the lower right

This will display a list of Services. I scroll down and find the Windows Defender Service

It shows NOT on and manual start

Before the instalation of Norton Internet Security 2010, it has shown as Started and startup type automatic

Is this the right setting with Norton Internet Security installed? I do not use Windows Defender, but I read that the Windows Defender Service is responsible for other things in addition to anti-spyware scanning.

So should I change the startup type?

    and start the service?

Or, as I said if I don't use it. leave it alone?

    Q. "Norton Internet Security 2010 automatically closes Windows Defender?"

    A. Yes.  It uses its own antispyware software.  Having two different types will result in conflicts and compatibility issues.

  • Norton internet Security 2010

    Hello

How to re - install Norton internet Security 2010 only on HP Pavilion e9280t? My PC came without any reinstallation CD/DVD.

    Thank you.

    Pineapple,

See your other post in the screen area.  Basically, use (start - programs button) HP Recovery Manager, and then reinstall software Application.  You will see NIS 2010 in the drop-down list.

Make a set of recovery discs as soon as POSSIBLE.  Use quality DVD media support. You will need of three DVD + r. don't buy stuff cheap. You will see the creation of recovery disk in the same folder as the Recovery Manager.

  • Problems with the closure, by opening the Task Manager and Norton Internet Security. Help, please!

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 with Windows Vista Home Premium (64-bit). Until Monday, there is no problem whatsoever with my computer at all. I have not installed or uninstalled, whatever it be, changed settings, done anything differently with my computer. Suddenly it now "hangs" on the screen of closing down. I'll try to reboot or stop using the menu start, and it will stay on this screen indefinitely. Now, I have to manually turn off the computer. I spent on the Support page and studied the Performance issues, and all I get is I have Visual settings that interfere with closing... except my Visual settings have not changed in any way. In addition, I can not properly update my computer or do a system restore because the computer will shut down.

In addition, the Task Manager will appear no more. I'll press ctrl alt del and nothing appears, just the green icon in the corner of the screen. If I try to right click, no response.

I tried to do a full system scan in Norton Internet Security but she "leaves" scanning. It will scan correctly when I'm in safe mode, but it comes with no virus, trojan or other problem.

So in essence, I tried everything I can think of to fix my computer nothing works. It was working perfectly before this week. I have no idea where to go. Any thoughts?

    Thanks in advance,

    G

    Hello

    Method 1.
First check to see if there are external devices attached to the computer, if so remove and check.

    Method 2.
    Step A.

Start your computer in safe mode and check if it starts.

    Step B.
If it starts on the desktop in safe mode and then set your computer to the clean boot and check if it starts successfully. If it starts successfully can be a third-party application or service is causing the problem. We can use the approach 50 / 50 to narrow down the root cause of the problem.

See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

    Method 3.
I recommend to run the restore of the system in safe mode and check if it works very well.
    Reference:
    System Restore: frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/system-restore-frequently-asked-questions
Note: If you use system restore when the computer is in safe mode, you can not undo the restore operation. However, you can run System Restore again and choose a different restore point if any.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows Defender and Norton Internet Security? What are the differences, and that I would be better off with NIS.___NIS it has automatic connections which is great.___Thank you. Dennis__

    None

Windows Defender is an antispyware software.  In itself, it does not all the protection your computer needs.

Norton Internet Security is a suite of programs, including antivirus, antispyware, firewall, antispam and others.

Windows 7 consumer security software providers shows those and other opportunities.

I'm not a fan of security suites.  On my computer, I use the free program of Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus and antispyware protection integrated in Windows 7 is Windows Firewall .

    Hello

I studied a little more on Norton and Vista compatibility issues and the Symantec Norton Internet Security is certainly compatible with Vista!

Also, I found a document very useful Toshiba on this subject:
    Check this box:

Windows Mail won't send or receive emails
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7701X30005R01.htm

It seems that the update of the Software Desktop SMS Installer version will help to address this problem.

  • Norton Internet Security should be included in the list of startup programs?

I use Vista Home premium 32-bit with SP2 for Vista
    Norton Internet Security 2010 v 17.8.0.5

    When I go to:
Run > msconfig > Start Up Programs

I don't see anything there about Norton or Symantec.
I see it running in the list of services, but NOT in the list of the startup programs
I have Norton Internet Security has the value 'early charge', so it shouldn't be in the list of startup programs?

I swear I saw him in programs before starting.

Must show in the start up programs?

The entries you see in the list of services are service installed to work with the Internet Services of Norton. They are not in the program.

Have you tried looking in Autoruns?

To identify what loads when you start using Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft).
     http://www.Microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspx

With Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig.

Another useful feature of the program is that you can click with the right button on an item and select search online to get information about the selected item.

  • HP Envy M6 Simplepass finger reader will not work after you uninstall Norton internet security.

I've seen a few problems to do with the drive of finger and Norton internet security, but I couldn't find a solution to the problem. I looked on biometric devices and it says "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) »

I've been on the re HP Recovery section - install drivers and applications and reinstalled the HP Simplepass program, but I do not uninstall before that I did and that's maybe why it did not work.

What to do to make the finger drive working again?

    Kind regards

    Maddie

Ok. So I got a new laptop that has a fingerprint sensor. I opened the Recovery Manager and see that there are TWO pieces of software that need to be installed/reinstalled.
    (1) the validity of the pilot sensor of fingerprint in the drivers section.
    (2) the SimplePass software in the software section.

Most of the drivers and software in the Recovery Manager do not need to be uninstalled first - the installation package should do this automatically.

If you have not already done so, install the driver of validity using Recovery Manager and restart your computer.

  • Norton Internet Security trial version stopped working and asked me to uninstall and reinstall

Norton Internet Security has stopped working and asked me to uninstall and reinstall.

I uninstalled, now I can't seem to find a way to reinstall it.

Either way, it was the evaluation version of the security of the software that came with it since I bought it just 3 days ago. So I have all the disks for the software.

How can I reinstall it? And the last days of my stay of the trial?

    Hoping for an answer.
