Issue business rules

Hi all

Please help me solve under question.

When my client connected to the Regional service, it can run rules business but after 30 minutes again when she tries to run the same business rule it gets the error message like

* "You must be connected to the database to run a rule" * "

Please let me know what would be the problem and how to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance...

Yes. EAS also follows us the idle limit. The default value is 60 minutes. You want to check the settings & change: the analytic server properties (right click for properties & see on the Security tab)

  • Issue business rules - cannot associate planning in environmental assessments (11.1.2.0)

    Hello

I am facing a problem when I try to associate a rule of planning business in the EA. When I try to develop the planning node to find our application to associate, I don't see anything under the node of the planning.

Another thing that is strange is that I do not see that planning has added to the location node under Administration on the view of the company, but when I go to the "Locations" tab on my business rule and try to add the same planning repeats, and I am not able to do.

In addition, I'm unable to see my business rule in Planning and no wonder, it's because I'm not able to associate the business rule to my plan of implementation planning in EAS and the appropriate location is not added.

I spend two other messages in the forum which discusses a similar problem and made sure I actually assigned access to myself. Also, I use an administrator account. I also tried to restart the services that they suggested in some messages of the forum and also in the document "Troubleshooting with Business rules Issues" on the Oracle Web site, but it did not help. I don't know what goes wrong and that is what I am missing which is continues to cause this problem.

Please help me with your ideas and I would like to know how to solve this problem.
    Thank you!

Is it EPMA then you will need to use the calc Manager, if one is your request or EPMA, classical planning are you sure that you have created the application to use business rules and not Manager Calc.

  • Performance issues at the opening of business rule

    Hello

We work in collaboration with Hyperion version 9.2.1 and we have performance issues when opening the business rules. I have analyzed the issue and discovered that it has something to do with the assignment of access privileges to the rule.

The authorisation scheme looks like as follows:

User A is assigned to the group G1
User B is assigned to the Group G2
Group G1 is assigned to the XYZ group
Group is assigned to the XYZ group G2
Group XYZ is the owner of the 'basic user' delivery to the planning application.

Without attributing any unrestricted access the rule company opens immediately.
By assigning the privilege to access the group G1/G2 (post or get) the business rule opens immediately.
By assigning access privilege to the XYZ group the business rule opens after 2-5 minutes.

Anyone has an idea why this happens and how to fix this?

    Kind regards
    ULI

This was a problem with the business rules for quite some time. Oracle made front and rear markets in later versions than yours; and they have issued patches address, if it is not completely solved the problem. Finally things seem to be much better in 11.1.1.3, although YMMV.

Remove essbase Server console of Regional service,

  • Oracle EPM 11.1.1: Issue of business rules

    Hi all

I installed Oracle EPM 11.1.1 and I created a planning application. However, when I connect to the analytical Administration console and try to create a business rule I am faced with the following question:

    1. when I try to select planning application I get the following errors:

Error connecting to server < servername > Essbase / < Application name >.

Detail: could not connect to Planning Server

    2. as it implemented autour, I the Essbase outline and the rule is validated AAS. This rule has been attached to a form and must be performed when I do a mailing. However, the rule does not form. I tried to run the rule of web Planning and even once, I get an error.

I checked the access rights for the shared services business rule and the admin user (which I use) has available and administrator rights. Is this a configuration problem or is there something I'm missing here.

    Thanks in advance,

    Amol

    Hello

I usually begin in the following order
    RMI
    EAS
    Planning

Then connect to the planning application, then go to INJURED and if the provision is set, then you should be able to create a business rule and choose the application you accessed.
If there are problems, then there may be a configuration problem.

Yes, you must create an xml based on the RequestCatalogDetailsDataType to complete. Then you should be able to send to business rules like this: but in your case you have to send it to the variable of the dsIn.

  • Could not find job - "Business rule will now run in the background."

    Hello

When I run a certain business rule it takes a long time and then up the message = >

"Business rule execution time exceeded the configured maximum wait times. Business rule will now be running in the background. To check the status of the execution of business rule, open the page of the Console to work. »

I opened the console work - navigate / manage / Console library work - but I can't find anything; even when you look at a hidden jobs - but limited to myself...

Is he referring to another console work, if so someone can tell me where I can see the result of the business running rule?

    Thank you

    Robert.

His reference to the same console to work. You can check if the rule has made the change expected in the data.
    If you're 11.1.1.2?
How long this rule usually take to run?

To work this issue autour, you extend the value of timeout for business rules.

    1. Select Administration, then manage the properties.
2 Select the Application properties to define the properties and values for a planning application.
    3. Add the property by clicking Add, entering the property in the empty line, you enter a value in the property
    Value for both of these.
    -HBR_MAX_WAIT_FOR_RULE
    -HBR_MONITOR_DELAY
Values for the two columns must be defined in milliseconds.
    4 restart Planning server services.

Please refer to the Guide to planning administrator for details on the properties of manage.

    Also, take a look on:

I would use the SOA composer for this.

    http://host/SOA/compositeur

the port usually is 8001 or as configured.

You can go and change rules dynamically at execution and save. It would lead to.

  • EAS is not the crux of show business rules

I'm in the process of validating a 11.1.2 installation Planning. Therefore, development environment, a server Essbase, any other server.

One of the questions I met is my Regional service client installation does not have a node of business rules (I remains far from calculation Manager due several tales of horror from multiple sources that I have heard).

However, it fact appear in the web launched version.

    Launched web version numbers:
    EAS 11.1.2.0.00.462
    APS 11.1.2.0.0.615
    HBR 11.1.2.0.0.722

And now it gets really weird. Launched client version numbers:
    EAS 11.1.1.2.0.00.462
    APS 11.1.2.0.0.615
    HBR * 4.1.1. *

Somehow my own installation got magically the latest version of the planning rules 4?

Of course, it looks like that something didn't install correctly. I was able to find this thread concerning the same problem:
How to add plugin HBR in the Regional service console

    In this thread, Renu wrote:
this issue gives a try to copy the common/log4j file from the server to the client or install the Client Integration Services on the machine where the Service Administration Console is installed.
Unfortunately, there are several files of log4j and none (that I can see) that have a common parent. Can someone give me some tips regarding if it is a good solution, and if so, a hint of better regard this log4j I should take?

    Thank you

P.S. I found the Setup for the Regional service log and found two errors at the end of the installation process, but I think that they are related to the writing of an icon on the desktop. This does not surprise me that this Vista laptop is locked tight.

There is no problem with the other rules of business that are associated with other applications.

I tried to restart the Regional but that does not solve the issue. Furthermore, I believe that this problem came after I manually deployed 64 bit weblogic for EAS. On other environments where tomcat is used there is no problem at all.

    Thanks in advance.

I assume you've tried the standard process of: -.
    Stop planning, EAS, RMI services.
    Start planning of RMI, EAS,
Connect to the planning through the web application.
Connect to EAS, open your rule.

Also you can create a new rule for the planning application after following the process described above?

  • Prevent the business rule to run simultaneously

    Hi all

We are on Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3.500. One of our business rules makes the system completely meaningless with its results when some users are running at the same time. A person must have been necessary a HBR not to run when it is already running. I need your suggestions to avoid the business rule to run simultaneously.

    Thank you

    Hello

    • tell users check the console to work first, before you run the rule.

    or

    • have a member of the system in your dimension that you can use as a flag. You set it to 1 as the beginning of the rule to indicate he runs, 0 / #Missing at the end of the rule to indicate is finished. You then add a @RETURN to leave the calculation if this flag is set to 1 in your rule. Just be careful about this because if for any reason the calculation fails, or is killed by an admin then your flag is set to 1, but you can still have a form of admin to reset these flags easily if necessary.

  • Planning of business rule

I need to write a business rule to calculate the difference of version 1 and version 2 and copy this difference to version 3 for all data at the level of zero for all the periods of a year, including the opening balance. Can someone help me

You could have elaborated more on your version of Hyperion, you're on and and what are your basic needs. (is this a a time point, it is something that must be considered at all times).

A very simple approach (without having to deal with a business rule) be fair would create a member of the dynamic version with an e.g (@VAR (VERSIOn1, Version2)) formula member. Again only once, you know the design of your application, as well as the details around your needs so you should test to see if the option is possible.

Others on the Board of Directors will give more information on approaches using some business rule approaches (e.g. VERSIOn3 = Version1 and Version2 ;) who would be most effective.

I hope that the option has been useful for you and let us know how make you out.
