Issue of Intel vt - d support

Hi Forum,

I understand that vt - d active pci cross with which VMs can access the devices connected to the pci bus, my question takes the device to be supported by vmware for vt - d work?

For example, I have plug-in can any card basic pci ramdom in physical machine network and send it to VM until virtual machine operating system supports the card or must it be supported by vsphere / esxi also?

Thank you

You can use other devices that list officially supported devices. A device is not guaranteed to work correctly, but I had success with a few devices. http://www.VM-help.com/#VMDirectPath

Depending on the device you may need to change the method of resetting the device, and you may also have to swap PCI slots depending on how your system has distributed the PCI slot numbers.

Laptop are not like the desktop PC. You can just open the case and replace the vdeo card. If your laptop doesn't have a switchable graphics so no update that should meet your needs of games is possible except the following

One solution is to buy an expensive external graphics adapter .

The alternative is to play the game on a PC with an installed gamig card.

• TPY 14 (S3) - issue of Intel Graphics display driver

Earlier, I posted a problem I had with my default graphics (here) driver. Now, it seems that he has backed up to the next level. Now, Windows won't let me use my secondary graphics card at all. When you click a program file there is an option that says ' run with GPU >. For some reason any, it is grayed out, it won't let me use something other than the default integrated graphics card. I can't understand what is happening. I even reinstalled the Nvidia drivers, but that solves nothing.
None of the graphics drivers have been replaced through any sort of service of any kind, apart from reinstalling the Nvidia driver today update.
This computer has certainly recognizes that the secondary Nvidia card is here. Experience of GeForce said that he only a 840 m on here and so too does SpeedFan.
The question is now that I can't really throw anything using the Nvidia card. If I somehow, the program crashes after a few seconds (not responding). The mouse and everything still works... and if I force to close the program and try to restart it, the ' run with GPU > "button is grayed out.
Reboots have done nothing.
I begin to doubt that AVG might have done something. I had been using Norton all the time, but it has expired, so I decided to try AVG until I have renewed Norton, and he ran a few PC Tune Up. This made a registry cleaning (including what he described as "Temporary files of Windows") and defragmentation, defragmentation of the HARD drive, removed the shortcuts broken and other things. I am suspicious and restored all changes that AVG made, nothing done.

I can't understand, and frankly, I'm getting a little scared now.

Hello again Martin, it seems to me see you everywhere today heheh
In fact, I found the problem.
The other day my WiFi was out so I turned off the WiFi thing in the computer by using the keyboard shortcut key (BIG MISTAKE! do not) but which has in fact is to put the computer in Airplane Mode. Which disables the option to elect to use the graphics processor. You must use symmetrical or high battery Performance plans (in Control Panel)

Thanks anyway!

Hi mate

First of all thank you very much

I have a U400 and I installed a driver for Intel graphics from the Intel page too.
I didn't run the exe file, but I've updated my driver in Device Manager.
It worked well.

Also I've read here in the forum that drivers from external pages can only be used at own risk because these drivers are not tested and certified by Toshiba

However, my U400 run without up to this problem.

• Intel support own Euro drivers WLan-> channels 1-13

Hello all,.

I spent the last few hours to tweak the parameters of the software/hardware to solve a problem of Wi - Fi connectivity. Finally, I came to the conclusion that my misfortunes caused by the interference of neighbouring access where point and thus began the process of channel in the hope.

This led me to block me on my Wi - Fi router. How I hear you ask? Well it's simple, I had the audacity to put my wireless router to broadcast on Channel 13.

Where my question; Intel produce and support the specific drivers for euro for one of its wireless adapters? For those of you who do not know what I speak no Wi - Fi running on a frequency band public not assigned (by convention).

In the United States, it is in the United Kingdom and Europe channels 1-13, Japan 1-14 channels and channels 1-11. Intel drivers available on the portal of Toshiba updates appear to be limited to the US (ch. 1-11) spectrum that explains how my sick condemned router locked me settings.

Access to these additional channels (Ch.12 - 13) would be quite a boon given the number of Wi - Fi (and other wireless devices) operating from the public frequency band (there are 4 to 7 Wi - Fi access points in range of my laptop only).

Laters,
Lee.
[email protected]

The WiFi channel limitation has nothing to do with the software, but it s a simple hardware limitation due to EU rules, the United States and the Japan.

• NOR-IMAQdx Intel Pro/1000 driver support

The Readme of NOR-IMAQdx V3.4 document states that:

If you have a gigabit Intel Pro/1000 series NIC Ethernet (NIC), it is recommended to install the High Performance GigE Vision Driver. This will ensure optimized performance and minimal configuration.

Are all the Intel Pro/1000 series supported (GT - PCI, PT-PCIe) cards? Other series Intel cards are also supported. Is the Council of (chip 82574L) CT Intel Giga (PCIe) supported? What is the difference in performance if this driver is not installed?

Hi John,.

To answer one of your questions, there are many benefits to using the driver of high performance when they are available:

• Optimized for the data is copied as little as possible with the load low. Pure performance gains are difficult to quantify, because they depend on many conditions. In general, the more packets per second (throughput divided by the size of the packets) and several cameras used, the more the driver gains performance high performance.
• Optimized for the use of GigE Vision (amount of allocations of memory buffer, frames, packets interrupt settings, etc.). You can change some of these settings in Intel (much more than other providers) drivers, but not all of them, and there is no additional configuration required when you use ours.
• Works independently of firewall configuration
• Return of lost or damaged data packets are processed at a level General much weaker with much less latency and fresh
• Uses frames for GigE Vision only without affecting the rest of the network stack (which allows some jumbo frames on a systemic basis may cause some annoying problems of network)
• In versions of Windows prior to Vista, several cameras connected to multiple network interfaces could not make good use of the automatic link-local-address. With our High-Performance driver that you can fill multiple ports into a single virtual device that allows you to increase your overall bandwidth as easily as a single port.

Now, regarding the interfaces are supported, we support most of the Pro/1000 series that are and have been widely used. In general, the only we can guarantee are those which is integrated in the maps that NEITHER sells because we can make our own validation on them. Because if this, our driver INF files are confined to specific chipsets that we validated internally. The best way to ensure compatibility would be to get the cards of NOR.

However, ff, you have a copy of IMAQdx installed, you can view the nigevk.inf file (typically in C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\NI - IMAQdx\Staging\NI GigE Vision) to see what PCI IDs are listed in the INF file. PCI IDs are the best I can advise because Intel labelling of products is not always clear what chipset and the revision, the card has on it.

82574L is listed in the INF of our driver currently high performance as PCI ID 0x10D3, so if you have this one even it * must * be supported. I recommend the GT line because 32-bit / 33 Mhz PCI doesn't have the bandwidth to support traffic GigE Vision.

Hope this helps,

Eric

• Win 7 Support for Intel 865 G (HP D530 SFF) graphics card

I recently upgraded my HP/Compaq D530 SFF model (small footprint) Pc in XP - PRO on Win - 7. The upgrade was easy and went smoothly. Update Windows automatically updated the driver ADI AC97 Integratd Digital Audio to worm 5.12.1.5410 and the driver Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet to worm. 10.100.0.0, which are listed by HP as Win-Vista certified.

Unfortunately, it didn't automatically update the driver for the hardware Intel 865 G chipset motherboard graphics. Instead, it installs a Microsoft "generic" drivers VGA game. My D530 SFF special is a 2.8 ghz P4 hyperthreading, but according to the HP "Drivers WEB site" (for XP), all versions of the HP D530 has the same graphics hardware. so, my exact submodel should not really matter.

Windows 7 runs strong (at least as well as XP) on this beautiful little PC. In three days, it has generated NO 'system' or 'application' error log. Win-7 notification Center, however, annoyingly tells me everytime I open a program of specific graphics of Win - 7 (even the game of Solitaire) that my video card is running in "software rendering" mode with NO hardware acceleration. Even the Solitaire game runs very slowly, but it runs without error. Microsoft "DirectX Diagnostic Utility" indicates that DirectX 11 is running correctly on my PC and it can't find ANY error. It indicates (as I already knew) that hardware acceleration has been turned off.

I tried to run HP softpac "sp31335.exe" to load the version "6.14.10.4396 has ' graphics drivers running on this PC when installing XP. The softpac ends before doing anything with a message that says "Unsupported OS." Because softpac graphic drivers are supposed to be 'XPDM"consistent, I suspect they will probably work with Win - 7 (even if they are NOT supported by HP and may have some minor problems). In any case, I would put a "restore point" and give it a whirl. What I have to lose, because there is NO data or programs installed on this PC (clean install). In the worst cases, I just reload Win - 7.

My problem: I can't go to the version "6.14.10.4396 has ' graphics drivers because of Installer softpac (i.e."sp31335.exe"). Is it possible that I can bypass the message 'NOT supported by the OS' and get the graphic drivers to install anyway?

Update: I solved my problem. Even if HP has structured its executable program SoftPac (sp31335.exe) so that it will not install the version of graphic XPDM driver 6.14.10.4396 on a HP D530 with Windows 7 operating system, Intel made this driver available on its WEB site and is available for download. ZIP format.

During a search, however, I found a newer version of the Intel driver and installed. The Windows DirectX Diagnostics utility reports NO errors and hardware acceleration has been turned on. In addition, 96 MB of memory is allocated to graphics. I ran for a good week with graphics performance at least equal to what was previously done under Windows XP. Data for this download are the following:

Intel (r) 82865G Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation - XDDM)

Driver provider: Intel Corporation
Driver version: 6.14.10.4656

Apparently, Intel provided this driver to Microsoft for inclusion on the installation disk of VISTA to 865G family support (and other). I extracted the following excerpt:

Q3: Intel provides drivers for Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 (Intel GMA 900) WDDM on platforms based on the Intel 915 Express chipsets?

A3: Intel will provide support for WDDM drivers, starting with the Intel® 945 Express Chipset family and beyond. See question 5 below for a detailed explanation of the WDDM support on platforms based on the Intel® 915 Express chipsets. However, Windows Vista is supported on the Intel® 865 G, 915 G Express desktop PC and 852/855 GM chipsets chipsets mobile running XPDM (XP Display Driver Model) driver included on the Windows Vista install media. Windows Vista will install on these platforms, but advanced features such as Aero in Windows will not be enabled as XPDM drivers do not support Windows AERO.

The version 6.14.10.4656 driver I use successfully on my HP D530 is discussed in the following Microsoft Forum thread:

• fact Intel(r) 865 G Graphics support for windows 7?

My motherboard does not support windows 7 except my graphics driver. Is there a driver for it can you please sent me the link.

You would go to Intel.

Supports (or lack thereof) of any material that you connect to your computer running any operating system actually comes of (or does not) the manufacturer of the device physics of said - not the manufacturers of the system in question.

Web page of Intel driver

What is the specific motherboard model/manufacturer?

32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7?

Although - frankly - looks like you're out of luck. The manufacturer (Intel) just can not support in this operating system.

I suggest you use the page to identify your Intel® graphics controller to check what you have.

However, please take note:

Intel released newer drivers XPDM for old graphics controllers?
Intel does not plan to release new XPDM drivers for the following former Intel graphics controllers:

• Chipsets Intel® 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chipset family
• Intel® 82915 G/82910GL Express Chipset family
• Intel® 82865 G Graphics Controller
• Intel® 82852/82855 graphics controller
• Intel® 82845 G Graphics Controller
• Intel® 82830 M Graphics Controller
• Intel® 82815 Graphics Controller
• Intel® 82810 Graphics Controller

So, again, you can be out of luck to try to launch a new Windows operating system (Windows 7) on a system with this video chipset without just buying another video card and put it in the system if possible.

• Z210: Bad support/problem with recovery of an Z210 system when changing the RAID configuration backup

My Z210 accompanies stripped Bay RAID-0, which currently consists of 2 x 1 TB HDD where the OS partition. I want to change that in RAID-1 mirror, but as the application of TSRI does no such RAID level migration, I thought I would try another approach.

As a solution, I'd do a backup using the Windows backup and restore application. Then, I would change the table using the Boot ROM TSRI before restoring the backup to this new array. But obviously backup 1.9 TB in a table of 932GB will not

So, to make a backup, I firstly disabled 'System Protection' and the file 'Page '. This allowed me to reduce the OS partition to about 50 GB using disk management. Then I re - activate 'System Protection' and the 'Page file' before making the backup and the creation of a system recovery disk. This resulted in a backup of 35 GB that I stocked up on a USB external drive. And now a backup of 35 GB can fit on my reconfigured 932GB RAID - 1 mirror

As such, I cold booted my system and during the boot process, I pressed CTRL-I to get the State of mind RAID Intel Boot ROM. you, CTRL-I've worked only if I started cold and the HP USB keyboard directly connected the first USB slot at the back of the system. The first USB slot is at the top left when you look at the back with the portrait of the tower. Connect the HP USB keyboard in USB port or in the hub of my Dell monitor does not allow me to access the ROM to Boot Intel RAID!

HP should really study this fault

In any case, when I could access the Intel RAID Boot ROM, I deleted the RAID-0 stripped existing and created a new RAID-1 mirror. Obviously, the process is destructive and wipe the BONES of the table but that's what my backup was to

Then I started on the Windows system recovery disk, plugged the USB external drive and proceeded to recover my system.

Everything worked as expected with the operating system partition uses about 50 GB. A simple trip to disk management enabled me to extend the volume to occupy the space allocated, as presented by the RAID-1 array. As such, I find myself with about 932 GB partition that appear in the windows disk management tool. After a check disk and reboot (which fixed some minor issues) all seemed well.

But no, everything was fine

Well that ROM boot RAID Intel sees that a mirror RAID-1 about 932 GB and the operating system sees a partition about 932 GB, both as expected, demand for Intel RST in windows States the following:

I don't seem to have indication of what type of table, it is, an options to change the name of the table or an option to check the integrity of the array through the TSRI application in windows. If something is screwed

But after the update for the application of iRST version 10.6.0.1002 Intel (the newest HP of) version 11.2.0.1006 (version Intel got very practice), the question seems to correct itself. Now the RAID, Windows boot ROM and the request of TSRI in Windows all agree that the table is indeed a mirror RAID-1 932 GB.

I don't know what caused the problem, if it's related to something that was wrong with the process that I used, if she is simply resolved by reinstalling driver, or if this is a fix for a known issue that Intel has included in their questions later from the pilot.

But what I know is that Intel has resolved a number of issues in the version 12.9.0.1001 driver (which is the latest version for the Cougar Point chipsets) compared to the old driver version 10.6.0.1002 HP has on its support page for the Z210.

And HP seems unwavering in his lack of interest in the Intels 12.9.0.1001 test pilot and then make it available on its support page for what is a product still under warranty

It is a mediocre service if you ask me...

Some HP forum administrator or HP support person hide these forums should impose it in the HP management station and get it looked at. The Z210 is still under warranty for some customers and HP needs to pick up the latest drivers available to all suppliers, test them and then release them to their customers via the support page for this product. All the rest is little change us all.
