    Hey all,.

Just got my z3c a few days ago, and I love so far. I noticed something weird with USM, however. I was turn on at night when I go to bed so I lose only a small amount of battery life, but the next day all my preferences seem to have been reset. I noticed this because I use a Gear Live to work, but I don't get notifications and have to go activate the watch notifications in app Android wear each time. I guess that this is not something that works as expected? Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with Ultra endurance.

Unfortunately, with the current software, Ultra endurance can reset notification app preferences. This will be fixed in a next update.

  • Hard disk ThinkPad Advance Dock using an ultra bay adapter

I just added an extra hard drive in my Dock in advance.  I initialized and formatted.  Can I copy files to it.  Everything seems fine, except that I can't start the computer with the hard disc in the dock.  It hangs at startup Lenovo screen - is yet to get to the point where she tries to load Windows Vista.

No idea how to overcome this?  It of a pain to have to remove and reinsert the hard drive, every time that I start.  Thank you!

After spending four hours on the phone with support from Lenovo, install updates (under their orders) which weaken other programs, install the new docking station, they sent, still no resolution.

Called my guy from dell support.  He had the answer for me on top of her head.  No research, no digging through the KB articles.

I write the resolution here in the hope that it will help some other poor soul who knew my problem.

Go into the BIOS.  Go to Config.  Go to USB.  Disable the option to boot from USB devices.

Computer now starts fine with hard drive installed in the docking station.  No problems.  Now, if I can fix it just my other programs that will is broken...

  • How is - a to add an SSD to the Bay W510 adapter?

    Hi people,

I add a SSD 128 GB Toshiba (Lenovo) to the Thinkbay Hard Drive Bay Adapter.  What should I do to make it active?  Other users say they have this work, but my computer he doesn't even though Device Manager and the Lenovo do Toolbox.

Can I special software?  Should it be formatted?

    TIA,

    Hello

I have no problem to the SSD in the W510 Ultra Bay hard drive adapter.  The problem is that "My computer" (Windows?) does not recognize.  Devices and Lenovo do Toolbox Manager.  How can I get the new drive recognized?  Notice that this disc is inserted into the Ultrabay slot not in primary hard drive Bay.

    Thank you

    SD,

You must reformat the drive to NTFS,

    See YouTube: format SSD drive

    I hope this helps.

  • 5 d mark iii does not

    Hello:

    Location:

5 D Mark iii is partially insensitive.

    Background:

I was in the landscape and île Royale last week shooting of wildlife.  The morning before leaving, I turned a family of ducks.  My 32 GB SanDisk Exstreme Pro CF card was almost full, but the backup on a 16 GB SanDisk SD Ultra, Bay 2, SD card was empty.  I have the camera set up to automatically change the map when the CF card is full.  I've been waiting for the camera to switch automatically, but it didn't.  Instead, he remained on the Bay of 1.  In addition, the camera became partially unsponsive.  More precisely:

-The quick selection handle does not work

-Occasionally, the main display does not work (can not see the menus, the quick control button does not activate the quick control screen, can't see the images, etc..)  Sometimes, however, the screen seems to work.  I can't constantly repeat this condition.

-When I cut the power, the status LCD screen occasionally remains steady.  Of course, if I pull the battery, it turns off

-I can not activate the mode direct viiew (which I do ever - just comment as an additional symptom)

I tried to change the cards, batteries, etc., but the problem remains.

Before the show, the camera has been flawless.

In addition, please note that the camera took a fall about 4 days earlier when mounted on a tripod.  However, after the fall, the device worked flawlessly until the problem above occurred.  In addition, it is a kayak trip, and there was water occasional droplet exposure all paddling pool (nothing more than equivalent of droplets of rain drops).  The camera was not submergerged and was not exposed to excessive water.  I tried to 'dry' allowing him to sit in the Sun for a while.  I noticed some condensation in the status LCD display, but it is quickly dissipated.  Despite this, the State remains.  I doubt that exposure to water is linked to the issue.

Also of note, the same cards have been widely used in the past without problem.  In addition, the camera went previously bays as expected in the condition that the CF card in Bay 1 is full.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

Yes, indeed.  It's the most likely explanation.  I was hoping (stupid, I realize) that someone out there has information on a known error/bug dealing with issues of the card.  Disappointing.  However, I take comfort in feeling lucky enough to have the failure occur at the end of the excursion, hours before leaving.  Glad I could get those shots killer of loons, ducks, otters, beavers, moose, etc...

    In it goes...

  • Wheres my GPU?

I recently had the IdeaPad Y410P but did not receive my Ultra Bay 750 m. It was announced as 755 m which means that there is both, then where is he?

Y410P do not officially support bi - GPU (Ultrabay). I think you have misunderstood when you ordered your laptop.

What model order you and hence?

  • Should I buy the hard drive removable 750Go for the Y500 series laptop?

I know that it includes a hard disk of 1 TB inside the laptop

but you think that it is necessary to buy a?

OK the y500 series have the Bay ltration that allow to use the removable hard disk, graphics etc.
I mean that play games (not many) games maybe 2 or 3
Record a movie in the drive about 250 to 270 GB
Don't forget the y500 I already have 1 to inside
The removable hard drive was a 720 GB external drive which can use for ultra Bay

  • T430 to purchase help - hard drive question

    Pls advice

    If you have to buy

    (a) 128 GB SSD + 500 GB regualr Office (ultra Bay port)

What is the advantage of buying the SSD drive?

or 500 GB classic drive only ok?

they will put 128 GB SSD + 500 GB disk t0gether in a sytesm? or it will be external drive?

It will affect persofmrance, if I have two drives? (as a problem of heating or make computer run slowly)

they will be reove the dvd to put the 500 GB drive

    is this useful?

An SSD is much faster than a HARD drive. With an SSD boot time and application start times will be greatly reduced.

Ideally, you should get an SSD that is large enough to contain the operating system and all applications and data. It is perhaps as little as 128 GB for some people.

If you need more than 128GB but don't want to spend the money to get a larger SSD, then you will need to use a combination of SSD and HDD. There are two ways to proceed:

1 put the HARD in an Ultrabay adapter and the SSD drive in the HARD drive Bay original.

    2. buy an mSATA SSD and keep the HARD drive in the Bay of its origin. The advantage is that your Ultrabay remains available for the DVD player and/or battery slice. The downside, which is minor, is mSATA readers run only at speeds of SATA-II.

  • M500 Crucial would work as primary disk in my W520 or am I forced to use Lenovo SSD?

    Just wondering if the

    Crucial M500 240GB SATA 2.5 inch 7mm internal Solid State Drive CT240M500SSD1

my Thinkpad W520 work? I want to spend the current HD 500 GB Ultra Bay and use the SSD as drive.

I searched and read many horror stories how anything but Lenovo SSD will not work or there are problems.

I also searched and read where the M500 Cruical works indeed.

Seems to be more complaints than not.

So what, what to do? All advice is appreciated.

I want to order a SSD by Sunday evening.

Good afternoon and welcome to the community.

You shouldn't have any problems setting up computer you the way you describe. My X 220 (generation of your W) is configured with an mSATA SSD Crucial m4 under the keyboard and a Samsung SSD of 840Pro in the main Bay. I had zero problems. A moderator colleague runs a T420 has also equipped the mSATA SSD Crucial m4, but kept the flat disc in the main Bay, I think.

    See you soon.

Hi guys since im going to upgrade my laptop with an SSD (my choice will be Crucial M4 512 GB or Samsung 830 512 gb) I wanted to know if I need to buy additional hardware for the ssd stuff fit properly in the main or any Bay simply perform a unboxing conversion and plug. Any response would be really appreciated.

P.s.: ultra Bay will rest again with optical drive at the moment, because I need it, so bad just remove my hdd 500 GB, in fact.

    Thanks in advance.

I have a Samsung 830 256 GB mounted. It is the same thickness as the hard disk, it replaced. Just had to transfer the rubber raíles from the HDD to the ssd.

  • Advice needed centenarians and hi-res W520 or new and low resolution W530?

    Hello people!

I'd appreciate your advice and your experience to help me with my contemplation.

Im a CAD (solidworks, autocad, revit) and graphics (adobe, sony vegas) user, I need a new machine because my x200t do not support the load more...

I have a limited budget, and I have two options with the same price (of Lenovo in any case):

    A demo version of W520:

    Machine type/model: 42844 MG

    Intel Core i7-2860QM - 2.5 GHz

    2 x 4 GB 500 GB 7200 RPM

    15.6 inches (1920 x 1080 nVidia 2000M 2 GB)

    DVD - Rec

    WiF, cornflower, WWAN

RPF 9elements color sensor Cam card reader

    Windows 7 Pro 64

    New W530:

    Intel Core i7-3720QM - 4 c - 2.6 GHz

    8GB 500 GB 7200 RPM + 32 GB mSATA

    15.6 inch (1600 x 900 nVidia Quadro 1100 M)

DVD - Rec WiFi color sensor of fingerprint 4-in-1 card reader

    Backlit keyboard 9 cell cam

    Windows 7 Pro 64

I would buy something and forget the upgrade for the next 3 years...

    I'd appreciate advice.

    Kind regards

    Gili

    • Do not spend money for the color sensor. Buy a sensor of external color that you can use the laptop monitor and your internal display.
    • Why do you have 32 GB on the W530 mSATA? Go with an SSD as a single disc, or go with an SSD in the main Bay and the HARD drive in an adapter ultra bay. I don't think that the 32 GB mSATA is logical from the financial point of view as a disk cache only.
    • Do you need the cam on the on the W530, which should save money as well.

    2000M (W520) vs... K1000M (W530)

Both have 192 cores, 2 GB of Ram, bandwidth, same memory, same version of OpenGL, shader model directX version PCI-E generation FP32 and Optimus.

Differences: K1000M gives you DisplayPort 1.2 and the 2000M is only DisplayPort 1.1. TDP is less than 10W on the K1000M.

See this pdf to more details.

For graphics cards will perform more or less the same (W530 could be able to turbo graphics or more processor because of less PDT). You will benefit from the additional performance of the 3720? If so, then I'd go with the W530.

I normally recommend Win 7 Home Premium and not Pro, since they both will come with a $14.99 to Win 8 Pro upgrade. I guess you want to stay on Win 7, at least until the 8 is on SP1, if not for the life of the machine. So Win7 Pro might be good for you, if you need functionality.

You what you need to consider is: the processor in the W530 will benefit you more than the screen on the W520 and you prefer one keyboard on the other.

  • W520 Ultrabay second hard drive adapter

    Hello

I just bought a W520 and I would had an SSD.

The idea is to remove the current HARD drive, place a SSD in place, remove the optical drive Ultra Bay and place the (deleted) HARD drive. I would like to know if I should order an adapter to connect the HARD drive in the Bay of the Ultra.

    I found this: http://shop.lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/frweb/LenovoPortal/fr_FR/catalog.workflow:item.detai...

I called Lenovo French support center but they say clearly.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello BGI:

Personally, I don't think it's a problem that the UltraBay tape for the hard drive is shorter than 3 mm slot.  My guess (strictly a guess), it's that there are other models of laptops Lenovo out there who cannot accept a high 9 mm UltraBay object and makes Lenovo a deliberate choice to ensure that the UltraBay tapes would fit into all different machines - rather than having a second version that only fit in series W520.

The tape drive does not come with the computer (the computer comes with a CD/DVD player, except if you have ordered a RAID instead).  The tape drive is an option that must be controlled.  I ordered mine as I placed the order for the computer.

  • Issues General y510p

I bought a y510p and I look forward to his arrival. I ordered mine on the Canadian Web site, someone who received their machines can confirm a few things?

First of all, I heard rumors of people receiving the machine without the 4700MQ processor and receiving a 4702MQ instead listed. It's a problem recently or only when he started to ship?

Second of all, I'm confused, my model is the simple graph model 750 m. It seems that in the future, the machine is always built to support SLI with a second card and the other could be added? I'm not 100% sure on that someone can confirm?

Third, I've heard mixed opinions on the question of if the product overheats (more people saying that it is not). For me, it does not look as if it might overheat, especially with the single-GPU.

Fourth, there are supposed to be 4 options for the ultra-baie: 750 m secondary display, dvd/bluray player, player/caddy extra hard extra fan. Where are these modules available and if they are not available as of yet, no word on when they will be?

I'll appreciate all my concerns as possible be answered. Want to buy a second machine for a friend, I would first of all these responses. Thanks in advance!

    Liam

Answered all my questions, was aware of the issue of 4700/4702 and confirmed it has been fixed now (what I really wanted to know). Confirmed that no module ultrabay is availible at the times (neither the GT750M nor the bluray nor the hard drive caddy). Gave me an extra $ 50 off with a "friends and family discount. Other things, as explained how works the guarantee (that they don't attach any personal information to the machine and its warranty and registration) for a friend, I'm going to buy a second model for can easily get assistance guaranteed by itself without my participation, etc. She was just very useful compared side by side with everyone I spoke in front of her.

  • Portege M700 - Ultra Slim Bay

In the User Guide, in the section of list of equipment control, it says "Ultra Slim Bay weight Saver (is included with some models)". And since I got a case Ultra Slim Bay (which is also included in some models), logically, it would also come with the weight of the day before. Because, when I take off my DVD player to place in the case of the Ultra Slim Bay, there is a gaping hole left in the laptop where the DVD player used to be. It is not sensible that Toshiba did not provide weight saver, it don't...?

    Thanks for your help,

PS. This message was rejected by the system because it was blasphemous? What is going on? It took me 7 tries until I decided to change my message instead. What is the problem with the system? It was VERY frustrating, and it does not tell you what part he wanted to edit! bad code... Fix it.

I m not a Portege M700 owner but I think Akuma's right. The dummy DVD Don comes only with models without DVD player, I think.

If you wish, you can contact an authorized service provider. They can order all the parts of Toshiba.
Or search you on the homepage Toshiba accessories. Maybe you will find the part number you can search with Google to find online shops they sell this part.

    Good luck!

  • Portege S100 Ultra Slim Bay HARD drive adapter take 2.5 HDD?

As the title says really, think to add a second hard drive to my portege s100, but not sure if the Ultra Slim Bay adapter HARD disk can take normal 2.5 "HDD, or just the special Ultra Slim Bay HARD drive.
    Thank you

    Hello

First of all, you need to use the HARD drive adapter selectable right Bay which is compatible with the Portege S100.

I found an and it seems that the HARD drive adapter Bay selectable PA3408U-1ETC is the right!
Case Interface is serial ATA (SATA). And the Serial - ATA 80GB HDD Kit PA3407U - 1 H 80 must be compatible with the select Bay case
