iTunes opens like a totally blank, white window

I had a problem with my iTunes for a little while. When I opened the application, it opens as a completely white/white window. I can't select or anything and even the drop-down menus do not appear / are empty. Here is an example of what I see:

I looked towards the top of the system requirements and I am, supposedly to meet. See below for my info:

  • MacBook Pro, mid-2009
  • Mountain Lion, OS X 10.8.5
  • 12.3.2 iTunes

Any help would be appreciated!

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

Step 1

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is localized to your user account.

Select the feedback connections* and log in as a guest. Do not use the Safari connection only 'user comments' created by 'find my Mac '.

While signed in as a guest, you will have access to your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you use them for the first time. Do not be alarmed by this behavior; It's normal. If you need any password or other personal information in order to complete the test, save, print, or write them before you start.

Test while signed in as a guest. Same problem?

After testing, log on to the guest account and in your own account, disable it if you wish. The files that you created in the guest account will be automatically deleted when you log out of it.

* Note: If you have enabled 'find my Mac' or FileVault, then you cannot activate the guest account. The login 'User comments' created by 'Find my Mac' is not the same. Create a new account to test and delete it, including his home folder, after testing.

Step 2

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is caused by changes in the system of third party that load automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Please take this step regardless of the results of step 1.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of steps 1 and 2.

    When I open Adobe Edge Code I get a white empty window that says index.html in the upper part.

    I checked my library and tried to uninstall and reinstall but nothing seems to solve the problem.

    Is there a way to get the program working again?

    Thanks for the screenshots and thanks for your patience to try to resolve the problem.  I have not seen Edge Code hang so early in the sequence of boot such as the menus are not filled or activated.  Also, previous reports of the "white screen" at startup are usually corrected by simply deleting the folder 'edge Code CC '.

    I know you mentioned above that you have tried to uninstall and reinstall, but maybe you could do so once more, now that Edge Code Preview 8 has been published.  Therefore, can you please try the following steps on your machine to clean and then install the last edge Code?

    1. Finder, go to your folder Applications, rt - click on "Adobe Edge Code CC.app", then click "move to trash".
    2. using the Finder, go to "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe" and check if you see a 'Edge Code CC' folder.  If you do, remove it.
    3. in the Finder menu, click Finder > empty trash... and completely emptied your Recycle Bin
    4. Reboot your system.
    5. After your system restarts, click the icon in the status bar of OS x creative cloud to display the creative cloud.
    6. Click on the applications tab, find "edge Code CC.  Click on install.

    After installed, try to launch the Code of edge of your Applications folder and see if it works this time.  Please reply to this thread and let me know what you see.

    Hi, I'm a desktop PC Windows 10 remote using Real VNC, TeamViewer, NoMachine and other access.

    The point is Firefox and Chrome appear as white / white windows when opening, one thing is not happen to the native Internet browser = Microsoft Internet Explorer and MIcrosoft Edge, both behave normally. I have to use Microsoft browsers instead of my beloved Firefox.

    Could someone tell me why FF and Chrome are not disseminated, and instead, I get a blank, white, window I can nothing more than to shut it down?

    Hey Fulmercurio, I did some searching around and perhaps found what was causing it. Apparently in Windows 8, anything that requires a GPU treatment would not be made (ex: closed the lid of the laptop or monitor). It is possible that it may have carried forward in Windows 10.

    Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

    You will need to restart Firefox before this takes effect so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    1. Click the menu button

      then select the Options under Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux.

    2. Select the Advanced Panel, then on the general tab.
    3. Uncheck the use hardware acceleration when available.
    4. Restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

    Aaaah, as a matter of fact Yes! I have solved my problem. I hope this works for you also. I discovered that when I started the Task Manager and look under 'Process' there was a dllhost process that gradually consumed more in addition to my memory. It would slowly increase until that eventually the entire system would crash and I have to restart. So I solved it by putting a term simply the dllhost process. Every once in a while, however, I see the same problem product and I must go to the Task Manager to check... and of course, this same dllhost will eat all my power of transformation. So I just 'End process' on this topic again. Not a big problem because it happens less frequently than once a month to me and its an easy fix. So start up the Task Manager and see if you have a dllhost using an insane amount of memory. If so, this is probably what is causing your problem. I really hope this has solved your problem because it was a huge pain in the * for me. Very frustrating. I must also point out that the first time I tried to stop, it would just pop up again, so I had to close about 5 times in a half-hour time stretches on probably. DO NOT 'end process' on ALL Dllhost however as it may cause other problems with your computer. Just end the process if she consumes a ridiculous memory... amount as more 1 000 000. Oh yes, I also wanted to add that I was a little nervous about to terminate a process dllhost due to potential problems said it could cause, but when I finish this one, one that consumed all of my memory, no negative side effects occurred, none that I noticed.

    ·        This occurs when the computer is idle or while working on this subject?

    ·        It happens when you use a particular program or is it random?

    ·        Did you do with the last changes made to your computer before this problem started?

    Also, you can open check and Event Viewer if there is another error important messages/codes related to the question and after return of the error.
