Jabber 10.6 voicemail Options

Hello. Some of my users are able to see their voice messages in the Jabber client. Others are told to voice mail or go to the tab to set up phone accounts, but there is no tab phone accounts.  It is the old version.  I tried to go back to a machine at 9.7 and it would still not provide tab phone accounts.  I suppose it comes from the jabber - config.xml, but should all get the same exact configuration?  How can I get the phone tab or at least voice mails to appear in the client? Thank you.

Hi John,.

If you want the tab has phone, you must set the 'source of references for voicemail service"to"Not defined"in the Service of CUCM profile.

Go to CUCM web Admin: user management-online the user-online service profile's settings => select the brightness of Service and in the set voice mail profile "source of references for voicemail service" section on "not defined".

After you change the reset of Service profile, the settings by default, and once connected the Jabber Jabber client go to "File => Options-online phone accounts" and set the name of user and password.

  • Jabber error 481

Hi Gurus, I am getting SIP error 481 when I called from one video jabber let say J1 to another one let say J2 but J2 doesn't answer and J1 hangs up. normally I would expect J2 stops ringing but it keeps on ringing. I am using jabber 4.6, TMS 14.2 and a single VCS with software 7.2.2. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Is there a misconfiguration in VCS or TMS causing this or? let me know if you need any logs? cheers, Jack

    Hi Jack,

This is a known bug problem/software we CSCue55832. This is a bug with Jabber 4.6 not TMS or VCS.

This bug is scheduled to be fixed in the future software versions Jabber.

One option is to downground your jabber 4.4 or ealier.

  • call barring

Hi, I want to barr of certain nr.  I went into settings - call settings - call barring - call settings - all entrants, now she wants a password.  I'm in the right place?

Call except option does not allow you to block certain number to contact you, it blocks outgoing calls (such as international calls, for example). If you want to prevent certain number to contact you, you have 2 options:

-Download a party call blocker 3rd on Google Store.

-Save the number you want to block on you, Contacts, edit it, choose "All calls to your voicemail" option in the menu of three points at the top right.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones might be a silly question

Hi, I love my Pearl but I have this problem.   It sounds only 4 times before going to voicemail.  I understand that I can get change voicemail options, but how do I do?  Can someone help, please?   Often by the time I fished my phone in my bag a call was to voice mail thanks Sue

    Check the following-

    Dial: * 61 * [phone number] * 11 * [time] #.

Instead of phone number of your voice mail box number (call your operator to find out who) and instead of putting any value, i.e. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30. These values are seconds, after which your calls will be diverted/forwarded to voicemail. Setting a higher value will respond to your request.

This string is only applicable GSM carriers.

  • No. forward to voicemail if no answer option in 5.7.0.1037 for Mac

I'm going crazy or something is wrong. When I receive calls was able to respond that they are not going to voicemail and I can't find where the option is to set the time-out value. I didn't know that in previous versions, you can set calls to go to voice mail after a certain period of time.

    Please notify. Thank you.

So, I have solved my problem! Unnecessary preferences screen gives you an option for incoming calls 1. Receive normally, i.e. without voice mail, 2. Automatically answer, 3. Calls and 4 send voice messages.

When I select option 4, for my phone to ring and if not reply within the number of seconds defined in option 3 then it will divert to voicemail.

So 4 Option must be selected even if it sounds first.

Not a great UI as I read what all calls go to voicemail and would not sounded.

    Anyway prob solved.

Y at - it another way to access the voice mail configuration options?  Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am a little miffed.

  • "Voice Message Upload Error" - creation of a personal voicemail does not work

    HI again!

    Just a note to ask if someone at Skype can help with a tech questions. Just set up my new shiny number (which does not yet!) and then tried to set up voicemail. Sometimes I can save a virtual machine but not read or save it and I get messages like;

'Upload voice error message' and 'Voice Message error reading '.

Seems to Skype and I got off to a bad start! Help appreciated and I tried this for an hour and no luck at all!

    Thank you

    Sarah

I had the same problem, and I was looking for help, but could not find.

It's very frustrating not being able to record a greeting voicemail customized because default greeting looks like very hostile. (A stern survey woman says: "the party that you want to reach is unavailable!") He said not even the appellants what number they have reached so they could be left wondering if they have reached a sufficient number.

In any case... I hit on an idea and tried it out, and it worked!

One of the buttons has two sets of arrows going round and round. It is the button to reset the voicemail for the default greeting. You wouldn't click to record a custom greeting, but I moved and that you have clicked this button, and he asked me if I was sure that I wanted to return to the default welcome message. On a hunch, I selected the Yes option. After I did it, all of a sudden I could record a voice greeting! (Press the red circle to save, press again to stop the recording and press the green arrow to play it back and see how it sounds.)

I hope this helps someone out there.

  • How to get the phone to ring several times before the voicemail picks up

This option will be controlled by your wireless operator. Contact them to determine whether it is possible to change the response time of voicemail.

any incoming call is no option of rejection sometimes...

If the phone is in locked mode / standby, you will not get this option. Press once on the button power/sleep to reduce to silence the call; twice to divert directly to voicemail.

  • Send calls directly to voicemail problem

When I click on the checkbox to send calls directly to voicemail, it checks, but as soon as I change screens and return to the options of the checkbox is unchecked. I searched to see if this issue had been discussed at the forum Droid 3, unless I missed it I think. Anyone else having this problem and if so any difficulty?

Thanks Joelbon. I fixed the problem by removing the contact and adding them. I'll try what you suggested, if I run again the issue.

  • BlackBerry Q10 Q10 - voicemail

Hi, someone told me that when she calls me on my Q10, it goes straight to my voicemail. How can I fix it?

    Thank you

    Ho!

Which is a load. Your carrier should have instructions on how to change this. You can also try to call your voicemail and listen to the nice friendly voice explaining what keys you press to turn off your voicemail.

In the phone options, there are also options of transfer which can control the behavior of voicemail, but it does not work with all shells, I guess.

  • CXN Conversation styles vs legacy voicemail systems

Is there a document that aligns the styles of conversation of connection of the unit against the voicemail systems inherited (nortel, avaya, etc.) in terms of who we're closest to each?

    Hi Will,

I've never seen such a document (unfortunately). When we moved from Avaya/Octel, we discovered that the closest match was optional 1 Conversation that us then modified slightly with the help of the custom key mapping tool to match exactly. The only way was to user guides for users of both systems and make a look and compare :)

  • Move the CUPS 8.6 to GI & P 11.0 - client for Windows 10.6 Jabber

    Hi community support

We are modernizing our environment voice of 8.6 to 11.0 CUCM, CUPS, CUC and UCCX including passage of MCS including Cisco UCS servers. Regarding CUCM, UCCX, and CUC I just finished these several times in the past and we have a detailed plan. Regarding the CUPS/Jabber, we always try to finalize the design of upgrade and after reading many documents and a few good videos by Jaime Valencia our particular upgrade scenario is still uncertain.

We were using Microsoft OCS and decided to migrate to CUPS/Jabber so we have 3 groups CUCM we created 3 only the CUPS server clusters (Let's put HA when we go to Cisco UCS, but at the time we had only 3 MCS spare servers) and they have peers inter-classes.

    • We use a single domain across all 3 groups.
    • 100% of our users use IM & P through integration of voicemail and calendar and call control
    • 10% of our users have also softphones
    • We do not use SRV yet for service discovery due to having 3 groups on 8.6 so we Jabber for Windows 10.6 bundled with Microsoft SCCM, specifying the Type of account as Cisco IM & presence and login server 'use the following server' that points to the Publisher of CUPS.
    • First time users will have to specify [email protected] / * / how he discovered the area, use only the user name and password to connect, after which its caching and all connections are automatic.

    My questions are:

    • When we improve CUPS 8.6 to IM & P 11.0 ourJabber for the client configuration Windows 10.6 will continue to work without modification?
    • We currently link to the Type of account 'Cisco instant messaging and presence', this allows us to use IM & P and the voice that is to control the calls and softphones, you would select Account Type Cisco Unified Communications Manager in what scenario?
    • We want to use SRV for the Discovery Service, but as we have 3 groups who are upgraded in an approach by steps are better wait we have updated all 3 groups, we can use a single SRV for multi clusters with ILS?
    • When you first connect to Jabber, you must enter [email protected] / * / while he discovered the field then we just enter username and password (less the field), the average of SRV service discovery simply enter the user name and password once without the specified domain?
    • This SRV for the discovery service also provides the AP for connection if the main server is down or is making another way?

    Thank you, Carl Ratcliffe

Yes, the configuration remains the same

As for the second question, read here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/voice_ip_comm/Jabber/10_6/planning-...

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/voice_ip_comm/Jabber/10_6/CJAB_BK_C...

As now CUCM is one that handles services profiles, which define everything, you want to use _cisco-uds

#3 Yes, you probably want to wait to get them all in the same release, then make sure THEY works very well, and then configure the SRVs

#4 Yes, the first time, it will ask for [email protected] / * /, once he finds the SRVs it caches the user and you need only the password.

#5 Yes, you can configure the SRVs for all servers in the cluster.

  • Windows Jabber client

I strive to Jabber Windows installation client.

I CUCM 9.1.2 and joined my announcement in CUCM. I installed Windows Jabber 11.1.1 and can login with my account AD information.

But now that I get. I have a red bottom left of Jabber. I searched help and he says:

Connection error. Ensure the server information in the PhoneServices tab on the Options window is correct. Contact yoursystem administrator for assistance.
However, I looked and there isn't a telephone Services tab in the Options window. So I looked further and found a document saying configure the instant messaging and presence. But then I found another document saying that IM and presence has been fully integrated in CUCM 9 and later. I don't have a presence server right now and don't even know if I need one or not. Until the tinykitty am supposed to do? Completely lost in ass of Cisco. I well it might be interesting giving Jabber to everyone but is just a confusion and frustration and more I work with Cisco more, I hate it.

You posted in the wrong forum, this forum was for the 'free' JabberVideo service that was received by Cisco, no Jabber.

Suggestions you move this to the Jabber Client forum where you have a better chance of getting a response.
