Kaspersky sign appears after the full system restore
After that I did a restore of the entire system on my computer, I have a sign indicating "kaspersky is not lit." What does that mean? This means that my computer came pre-installed with a free trial of kaspersky?
Hello
Computers are normally with a free trial of an Antivirus for many days.
It is normally Norton or McAfee.
You must configure the free trial. A system recovery reinstalls the operating system to exactly how you bought your computer.
If the trial was initially, it will appear again after doing a restore to factory settings
Consult the manual of your computer as to what had been bought...
See you soon.

Will there be any problem of reactivation after the XP system restore?
I just do a system restore (if out-of-the-box original factory of the machine) to a disk image. After starting in Windows XP Pro SP2 I have entered configuration information initial requested as well as (as requested) Windows product key, but I jumped the (reactivation) activation step for now. The motherboard has been replaced a year ago and I added RAM. I all provided with the machine when you purchase including an OEM Windows XP SP2 "Recovery disc". Will I have problems trying to activate/reactivate Windows or do I have to call Microsoft customer service to begin with. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
If the replacement motherboard was provided by Dell and Windows XP is as you mentioned a Dell OEM Dell recovery disk is required to provide support by Dell with Microsoft license agreement. If the computer is still in warranty, then support should be free.
Activation should not be a problem as long as the product key belongs to the OEM recovery disk.

Find files and etc after a race a full system restore.
I had problems with my computer and I ran the "full system restore" (with backup). How to make the backup of files, etc. back to where they were? When I go to search and type something in this use to be on my computer, I see a file or several files that say MyBack and the file I'm looking for, but I do not know how to restore it back to where it originally was.
hamntre,
Thanks for posting. It sounds like you have used the restore\backup OEM utility to restore the system. If that is correct, then you will need to check with the manufacturer to learn how to restore your files from your PC. If you used the backup utility built into XP you just run it again and follow the steps to restore your files. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

It would seem that your registry database has been changed in order to disable the functioning of all. EXE file. You need to restore it, but cannot use regedit.exe to do. Solution: make a copy of the regedit.exe regedit.comappointed.
Open a command prompt by typing the Windows key + R and type cmd then hit
copy c:\windows\regedit.exe regedit.com
... and click on
Start regedit.com
... and click on
In the RegEdit program, navigate to the registry:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Exefile\Shell\Open\Command
In the right pane, double-click the (default) value. Delete the current value data, and then type:
"%1" %*
(i.e.: quote-percent-one-quote-space-percent-asterisk)
Close the Regedit utility. Your. EXE files must be start normally now. If the problem persists, or redone surface shortly after this procedure, your computer is still infected. In any event, the execution of full scans with MalwareBytes and your own virus anyti is recommended. The complete procedure (for XP) is detailed here.

I need to recover the Favorites after a Windows system restore.
After doing a restore of windows on Windows 7 Pro, I have only the default bookmarks on my view your bookmarks"" button. In a backup of the system a few months ago, I got the files and folder Appdata Firefox Profiles. I tried to replace the new profiles of 'empty' to the former, but without success - I still have only the default bookmarks. Thanks in advance for your help.
Note what to do a system restore will probably replace the profiles.ini file and all the profiles that are made after the date of restoration will not appear or be accessible through the Profile Manager.
If profiles are still there, then you can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile and choose the location of an existing profile (choose a folder) of re - save profile. -

I'm unable to connect to the internet and I also can not use the WinXP system restore.
No internet connection and I also can not use the WinXP system restore because it gives me an error at the 'end' which said: it cannot be restored to an earlier date. I run AntiMalware bytes and StopZilla and erased all that they found. Now I can't even connect to the internet. When I go to the command prompt, it gives me an error contact the Support of MS that I know means I have a virus or a trojan that I should just get a time out? My other PC on the same network is fine and connected. The NETWORK card is fine, just does not know how to get rid of what it is, I have and to top it all impossible to connect to the internet to try all of the tools that can help. Someone at - it ideas?
The error you get at the end of the restoration of the system is typical of some anti-virus programs (Norton, especially) that interfere with the restoration of the system. Try to start your computer in Mode safe (on several occasions, key to tap F8 while your computer starts) and run safe mode system restore.
Additional information is necessary to treat your network problem. Try to bring up a command prompt (start-> Run-> "cmd") or if it does not, try (start-> Run-> "command.com") and enter the command:
ipconfig/all
and after the info that appears in the State resulting. Also, check the logs of your system related errors (start-> Run-> "eventvwr.msc") and click on 'System' in the left column.

How to recover programs and files that have been written too by a full system restore?
Original title: data recovery
Is there a program that will allow me to recover programs and files that have been written too by a full system restore? I had to do a complete system restore, because the computer has been locked up in a start of the closed loop cycle.
Hi Apmech9,
1. don't you restore the computer to factory settings?
2. do you just restore the computer to an earlier time by using the system restore feature in Windows XP?If you restore the computer to its factory settings, you will then get in touch with the manufacturer of the system for more support options.
If you had just restored the computer to an earlier time using System Restore, you can undo the system restore to revert back the changes.

NTI Backup Now EZ - full system restore restarts to black screen with blinking cursor
My Dell Inspiron has recently crashed after installing the last "update automatically", and I had to do a full install of Win 7 OS from a disk Dell provided. I had to go as far as deleting all partitions to get the Win 7 OS to install. Once which was completed, I then tried to do a full system restore using my NTI Backup Now EZ 320 on a Toshiba Canvio 2.0. When he is finished with the restoration, I disconnected the HD and restarted my system... as stated. The system has rebooted and returned to the top with a black screen with a blinking cursor. What happened to the EZ installation?
Any help would be appreciated.

IPod Touch App data files are saved by the XP system restore?
I lost the data files for the applications on my iPod Touch after a BSOD on XP so that the update to iTunes.
"Restore from backup" in iTunes restores only the empty files, due to him having a synchronization since the failure (iTunes replaces its unique to each sync backup file), so I'm now scrambling for an alternative.
What seems to offer the best chance is to do a system restore XP from a restore before the BSOD Point - but I don't know if the Restore Point contains a version of the iPod data files, which are stored in the hidden folder C:\\Documents and Settings\ (username) \Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup.
I found a note saying: the XP System Restore saves nothing of My Documents, but wonder if it means really nothing is recorded in Documents and Settings...
Can someone enlighten me as to the probability of the iPod Touch App data being in a Restore Point, please?
Hi BrianCrabtree,
I suggest you to send your request to apple support because the problem is with IPod touch applications.
