  # You have need Vista compatible drivers - it's the only way it will work.  Installing bad drivers can even to hurt the unit or even your system to not try.  Get a new USB device that works with Vista, and has the correct drivers.

  Please note that it may depend on the versions of Vista and Win 7 you have.

  RTD connection consists on the client computer (the computer that initiates the connection) and a host (the computer on which the connection will too.

  All versions of Windows can act as Clients.

  Can host only Vista/Win 7 Pro/ultimate/Ent.

  Therefore, if you have the OS Home versions', you might be out of luck.

  Permissions/Share info is there as well.

  If you use Norton, McAfee, Trend Micro or Kaspersky I.S., make that file and printer sharing is enabled in THE Firewall (or LAN enabled, depending on how their Exceptions are formulated in their firewall)

  The update above will not go into my system. When I run the updates it says failed. At also said cadre4 on Windows XP Windows Server 2003 don't know enough to do much. Don't want computer mess upward.  Thank you

  It is the solution that I found that helped me install the same updates.  I got the errors you listed and the installation manual has worked.

  The Machine is XP, this update KB2833940 and KB2844285 had been submitted to my computer via the auto update program.  Both have continued to "loop" on attempts to install on the machine.  Download prepare for installation and the installation would show as complete that in the menu screen may disappear.   Then the new UPDATE ICON appears in the lower Task/tool bar.   Using the feature "review updates", he noted that the updates have been shown as installed.   These have been removed by using the Add/Remove feature.
  The automatic update feature was sut down and use the HELP/SUPPORT-update - selection I noticed that two updates mentioned display 0's (zeros) in SIZE, but also the time to download in a few MINUTES.

  I note also that I have tried several times to correct this issue using what ever "patches" lacked good results.   ALSO THE MICROSOFT TOOL PATCH NEVER WORKED FOR ME.  ALWAYS A PROBLEM...

  Uninstall the .NET Framework 2.0. Then download the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool
  In the drop-down list box, select 2.0 and clean.
  Reinstall .NET Framework 2.0
  Visit Windows Update or Microsoft Update and let it install the rest of the 2.0 updates, including KB2844285 and KB2833940.

  Check if they install and report.

KB2518870 and KB2539636 always fail with the message Code 643 and Code 66 has.  I can't find these codes or the reasons for these failures.  This happened for well over a month now.  They are reported as of the important updates, but won't install but no problem with the other updates.  Should I be worried?  Is there a solution to this problem?

  I posted a query similar to this on a Microsoft Technet forum, but I have not yet received a response to the specific question that I asked.  I'm trying so this forum.

  I am running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, but I did not intend to accept the free update of Windows 10.  I don't use automatic updates.  I use Windows Update manually and select the updates to install, even for these updates identified as Important.

  Since April 2015, there was a sequence of updates for the client Windows Update on Windows 7 (Windows 8).  I have the Windows 7 of those below list:

  KB2990214 (April 2015)

  KB3050265 (June 2015)

  KB3065987 (July 2015)

  KB3075851 (August 2015)

  KB3083324 (September 2015)

  KB3083710 (October 2015)

  KB3102810 (November 2015)

  KB3112343 (December 2015)

  (This list is probably less intimidating than it looks because the replaced October update Update September, which replaced the August update, which replaced the July update, which replaced the June updated.  "There are therefore basically just 4 updates.)

  The big question is, given that Windows 7 is available for several years, why, all of a sudden, there was this sequence of updates for the Windows Update client?  Because these updates began to occur at the time when the offer of a free upgrade to Windows 10 was announced, I could be forgiven for thinking that all of these updates are really directed towards the relaxation of the upgrade to Windows 10 via Windows Update, and that there is little or no advantage to systems that are not upgrading.  I am mistaken in this belief?  If not, precisely those who will benefit from my system, even if it is not upgraded to Windows 10?

  The updates that I currently installed, depending on the installed updates, are KB2990214 (April 2015), KB3075851 (August 2015), KB3083324 (September 2015) and KB3083710 (October 2015).

  In my view, there was a lack of transparency in the descriptions of these updates in the KB articles.  And, in one or two cases, information on the importance of an update in the article and in Windows Update has been inconsistent.  It would have been much clearer if each KB article stated for NOT upgrading to Windows 10 systems, if the update to the Windows Update client is important, as an option or completely irrelevant.
