kb2536726 or KB2536276

When I was preparing to install windows for August 2011, which have already been downloaded updates (and Windows XP I would choose when to install them).
I did click 'Custom Installation' / 4 listed there:
check http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=221946 kb2559049
kb2536726 http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=215841 , listed as KB2536276) ' IN the ' ms update high priority/update section (on the right http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us pane [there are only 4 it]) "
kb2567680 http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=221864 check
kb2570222 http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=221880 check

Then I noticed it was the initialization of the installation of an "update" I did not choose (by unchecking the checkbox 'malicious software removal tool').
I canceled, then turned off auto-updates and went to the windows update page manually.
This time, there were 5, instead of 4, and
kb2536726 http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=215841 , listed as KB2536276) ' IN the ' section to update high priority/update of ms (on the right pane of http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us [there are only 4 it]) as well as in the custom inst «choose the installed updates list box»»»

Now I don't know if it was as typo on the spelling of KB2536276 and it should have been kb2536726 listed; or, if the wrong module was actually in the update, especially since the malicious sw removal tool was not, but was in fact included (or if there were other errors).

What should I do?

Hi EmpiriCat,

KB2536726 is incorrect because no such article of the basis of knowledge or other Microsoft download page exists. The correct KB is KB2536276.

We found a new solution to this problem, just change the domain name on the configuration file SMB to more than 7 characters. Should not even be a domain name legitimate no matter what, and then restart the SMB share, doesn't tappear to be something to do with encryption for us.  A big thank you to all those who responded to the initial question

Method 1 has not helped (I had done this many times before).
I did the boot, but it does not solve the problem either.
I have tried microsoft update web page of microsoft and, when updates failed, looked at the results.  When I clicked on every failure in the list, I saw the error codes for the first time: they were all the same: 0 x 80070017.  When I looked this error code, I was told to run chkdsk/f.  That solved the problem.

Thus, while the proposed solution has not resolved the problem, he took me on a path that eventually made and I'm VERY grateful for the time that was taken to help me.  Thank you very much!

  • Cause updates Windows vista freeze on configuration after reboot

Hi, I have problems with the Windows Vista updates that are causing my computer to freeze the configuration step once the computer has been restarted. He gets updates 3-0% 1 configuration but does not progress. I have then turn off and start in safe mode to restore the system. The updates are: KB2559049, KB2536276, KB2556532, KB2563894, KB2567680, KB905866, KB2563227, KB2570791, KB915597.

I tried install one at a time and only managed to install updates, but those above seem to prevent the computer from freezing as described.

I had an infection maleware a couple of months (the one who pretended to be the windows Security Center and tries to make you buy software). I removed it with Malewarebites. I did at least a success many updates as a result - and then, these problems started when I treid to do this series of updates. I read in other issues of the forum that the maleware could be the cause of my problems to update and that maybe I need to format and reinstall windows. Is this correct?

    Thank you in anticipation

Thank you very much for your help. I tried to use the patch program in suggestion (1). This did not help. In the end, I have solved the problem by starting the computer in safe mode. This allowed then updates the installation (the case as on normal start up the computer froze as he tried to set up the updates). Then I have to restart the computer normally without any problems. I have no idea why it worked! Thanks again.

  • KB947821 August 2011 vista

You will get the list with the patches installed tomorrow...

OK, that will help you, but I'm sure I knew probably causing your problems:

    1. you had to 4 four updates for .NET Framework 4.0 [two security updates & two performance (think: fixed bugs) updates] and, I believe, a 1 security for .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 (for example, KB2539633) in the 'tail '... Update as well as KB2559049, KB2567680, KB2563894, KB2556532 and maybe a little more!

We have learned that more .NET updates can take 30 to 45 minutes or more to load completely. So with 5 five updates to .NET in the queue, it could take as long as 45 x 5 = 225 minutes (4 hours!) for those who updates only to install!  And that assumes that the HARD drive is not busy doing something else (for example, the current Linux process).

=> Every time you have used the system restore since ~ 09 August, you have stopped the installation queue and essentially to facilities to square.

    2. Add to all this "churning" that McAfee applications are notorious for not upgrading properly & you got a real mess on your hands.

I'll have more to say about all this (and offer valuable advice) after reading your next answer.

[On a personal note: I look FORWARD to the UPDATES of .NET! ]

Thanks for the comments Robear.  My apologies for taking so long a list of updates and patches, but I had problems to enter the list.  I would like to get the half thanks to enter in the list and then the computer freezes up.  I wish there was a way to copy and paste the list.  Would have made life a little easier.  In any case, I made a copy Θcran and pasted in JPEG format, the content of which I then typed in a text once I'm back to the Linux partition.  Here is the list of the updates that were installed after August 8.

    I hope this is useful.

    1. check that the wireless is enabled via the F2 key - it's (but turn it off seems to have no effect).

    2. check that the wireless is enabled in the BIOS - I. BIOS version is A02, I have not tried so far. I prefer to do it as a last resort, unless that specific need.

    BIOS: Wireless: enabled
Wireless (Switch) / (Hotkey): all the
    Internal Bluetooth: enabled
    Internal WLAN: enabled
    Internal WWAN: enabled

    3. the Device Manager shows wireless network devices as missing from all the drivers? N °
Device Manager showed the following details: virtual map of Broadcom, provider wireless: Broadcom, driver Date: 01-21-2010, driver Version: 5.60.48 - 35, digital signer: MS Windows HW Compatible Publisher

4 are the network updated wireless drivers? With the help of Dell system detects, automatic detection of the system, he showed a driver update available listed as "Dell Wireless WLAN 1501 half Mini-Card (4313bgn) Driver. When running Setup, it gave an error "no compatible hardware found...". »

    5. I ran ipconfig/all. Here is the read:

    C:\users\administrator >

    6. I checked the Windows Mobility Center. Wireless 'tile' was where it should have, according to other messages I saw who were on this subject. Strangely, when I clicked on the button to launch under Dell - Radio control options, checkboxes Wi - Fi and Mobile Broadband have been unchecked and greyed out.

    7. I have reset the winsock catalog and restarted the computer via the elevated command prompt (Administrator)
    NET winsock reset catalog
    No change in status wireless.

    8. I disabled the Norton firewall and Windows and anti-virus to see if wireless was somehow blocked by them. No change in status wireless.

    9. I checked the Windows power plan settings to confirm that network cards did not have their power reduced. I put the adapter wireless for maximum while on battery and current performance alternative.

    10. I checked the Windows Event Viewer logs > Windows Logs > system:

I've seen repeated Scriptures error spread among the many dates of "BTHUSB (Blue Tooth adapter failed in an indeterminate way, will not be used.". The driver has been unloaded. "I saw no reference to what about wireless however.

    11. I tried to run Windows Update manually to see what, if any, driver updates it can find (using a network cable connection) and got the error 'cannot be updated because the Windows Update service is not started. I confirmed that he was released. I also manually stopped and restarted the service but continued to get the same error message. I kept the Windows Firewall and Norton Firewall (and antivirus) disabled in case they were interfereing with Windows Update, but no luck.

    12. I ran bad/ad/spyware scans with a portable version of Spybot and also a free version of SuperAntiSpyware, analyze the results showed several adware results, that have been deleted.

    13. I tried to manually configure the IP address, subnet mask and entered default gateway for IPv4 to the wireless adapter, which had been put on "obtain automatically", as it should. I also put the server DNS preferred my ISP (Comcast), then tried Google 8.8.8.8. This should have worked but the connection still showed as "cable disconnected" (why is a mistake to launch a "cable disconnected" wireless connection?)

    14. just for fun, I ran the update from the Intel driver from their site (via wired), who identified the available for graphics and Chipset updates - I've updated both, but it did not help (no surprise).

    15. I started Windows in Safe Mode with network - just as in normal mode, he showed the connection wireless as "cable disconnected".

I am open to any suggestions at this point. The laptop is out of warranty so prefer to avoid paid support, if in any way possible.

If you can get a hardware ID by activating / deactivating it on or turned off, it suggests itself wireless card is bad... Diagnostic tests could confirm this:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/F12-Preboot-Diagnostics/

You can look in the service manual to try and reinsert the card or replace it. His work a bit longer than necessary:

    http://FTP.Dell.com/manuals/all-products/esuprt_laptop/esuprt_inspiron_laptop/Inspiron-14r_service%20manual_en-us.PDF

An easier solution if you are uncomfortable with the material of the Assembly would be to buy a USB wireless adapter.

  • CopyFileEx calling with the COPY_FILE_NOBUFFERING flag is no longer works; the computer CRASHES

Earlier this month, MS published KB3121255. One of the two issues he said to resolve: when you call the CopyFileEx function with the COPY_FILE_NO_BUFFERING option to copy files to a read-only Windows Server 2012 volume, Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) backup of the IP data server fails with an "ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER" error message

I started running in CopyFileEx + COPY_FILE_NO_BUFFERING problems in the last days. It is part of a supercharged version of the Replace.exe I've been using and improve for years. Because I wanted to see where each file has been COPIED with success, I always turn off the COPY_FILE_NO_BUFFERING. I tried to use my code to replace it today, and as soon as he informed me that he copied, it blocks HARD. So I loaded into the debugger and instrumented to it like crazy, particularly emphasizing the CopyFileEx calls. These calls are pass on only one computer, although I also use replace software update on other Win 7 (32 & 64-bit) machines on my home network.

Of course, CopyFileEx is where it hangs. Allow me to set hanging for you (Replace is a console application):

    1. Call CopyFileEx with the COPY_FILE_NO_BUFFERING option (btw, my code tests the version of the OS to make sure that the option is supported before you use it).
    2. The deaths of the sytem STOPS; If I try to open an another command prompt, which weighs too much.
    3. Use Ctrl-Alt-pause to break into the debugger (running under VS 2012). She broke out and note that the system is in an impasse. Therefore an impasse that you are unable to force even a shutdown. VS works very well, and I see the stack of calls, variable in the sources of files, etc.. While I can close several applications, including VS, the app to replace launched by VS's not going anywhere. You must press the PC power button to do a forced stop, then walk back again.

I installed KB3121255 hoping it would cure the problem, but he did not. In an attempt to learn more about when and where it crashes, I then coded a CopyProgressRoutine() reminder for I can see a little more on what Windows was done before she suffocated and hooked hard. For those who are familiar with CopyProgressRoutines, I was able to see a single entry, advising me of the first stream. Not ready to copy data, all notifier recall a stream was found. As soon as I return from CopyProgressRoutine() to the BONE, it's on. An impasse & hung.

When I no longer use the COPY_FILE_NO_BUFFERING option, all this goes away. I'm tired and I have no more time for testing (almost 05:00 and I've been chasing this for the last hours 7 - when you have to restart several times it really drags things).

HEY MICROSOFT: I hope that someone is going to look on this. KB3121255 has NOT this problem in Windows 7!

    Thank you...

  • Windows 7 error: "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You don't have appropriate permissions to access. »

Hi I encounter an error message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You don't have appropriate permissions to access. »

The error message every time I click on administrative tools of the window (including the Control Panel, windows update, the Windows Explorer, etc.) but without impact on other programs I have.

I rebooted in safe mode and discover that everything works fine (no error message will appear when you click on window management tools).

I proceed to do a clean boot-> first disable all services of third parties (message yet to come), and then clear the components of the service windows (message yet to come)

I tried to type "explorer.exe" in the start menu-> search field then click right highlight to run with administrative rights, then received another message of error "Server execution failed".

I am the administrator account on this PC - and have full access.

The error seems to have appeared on 11 August after Windows Update the following:

    Update of security for Microsoft Windows (KB2536276, 2556532 2559049, 2560656, 2563894, 2567680), and

    Update for Microsoft Windows KB2563227

A security update for the Microsoft.net framework 4 client profile (verson 1)

There is no installation of any software or updates outside the windows update.

I also tried to restore the windows before August 10, 2011, but that did nothing.

As the error prevents me to access any object Admin window - I'm unable to retrieve the product ID and write to Microsoft Tech and ask for help.

I hope some of you can offer the suggestion of possible solutions (I really want to re - install window 7 and other software, I'm sure).

    Thank you.

My solution works in about 2 minutes, it's a very weird error and only happened to 3 jobs in the last 3 years, this solution does not need to create another account if local administrator is active and allows access to the corrupt user documents ect.

Log in as the local administrator or a domain administrator

If the local administrator is not activated refer to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555910 and after completing these newspapers of steps on the local administrator account.

Locate the user for example files. C:\Users\[username]\

If you see no AppData press Alt to see the toolbar at the top of the window, select Tools > folder options, go to the view tab and select "Show hidden files, folders and drives" click OK.

    Go to AppData\Local

    Select all (Ctrl + a).

    Delete

    * Do not delete credentials (as it will remove their wallpaper) *.

This allows to release the error.
