  • KB2572073, KB2633880 and KB 2518864 repeatedly to 'false' download, then prompt to download again - second post may 22, 2012 on this number

    May 22, 2012

    3:53 EST

I have on several occasions a prompt (yellow icon) download KB2572073, KB2633880 and KB2518864.

Each refers to a malicious effort to attack my system by far.

Earlier today, I posted a question here on this issue without stipulate 3 updates, but mentioned that I had experienced this problem.

My previous message which is submitted to you earlier today is copied from my MS Word document and pasted below for guidance:

    Tuesday

    Normal time around 12:53

IT IS A SHORT TERM PROBLEM, WITHOUT WHO SIMPLY CAN'T PROCEED TO WORK ON MY COMPUTER, BECAUSE IT'S GUESTS CONSTANTS UPDATE AND INSTALL UPDATES I'VE INSTALLED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT KEEP ONLY RECORDS NOT INSTALLED OR DON'T REALLY INSTALL.  I DON'T KNOW WHY THIS IS PAST, BUT THE YELLOW WARNING ICON APPEARING TO ME TO INSTALL WHAT I HAD ALREADY PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED.  PLEASE READ ON AND GET BACK TO ME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE ON THIS ISSUE, BECAUSE WITHOUT HELP IMMEDIATELY, I WILL BE OFF TO WORK ON MY COMPUTER.

I have Windows XP Professional on a Dell Dimension 8300 computer.

    I have an automatic update.

This morning, the little yellow icon indicates there have been updates installed, so I clicked it and 3 updates to be installed, because it was the message I got, either never registered as installed, because I keep up several times the same icon on my screen and several times to install the same 3 updates.

    I tried several options.

    1. I tried the manual installation of my Microsoft Security Essential antivirus, which only caused the yellow icon to appear and signal install me 3 updates again.

    2. I then signed off the computer and found that on closing time, I received the message to turn off the computer through conventional where it would install case updates, so I went through this process, leaving the computer install 3 updates and then automatically shut down.  After that, I waited a minute, then turn on the computer, and once more, the yellow icon appeared and told me that there are updates.  When I went to install, that is, once again, the same 3 new updates, which I thought had been installed;

    3. I then went to my option on my "menu" of options, clicked on "Install Microsoft" which went to "Update priority", and yet again, the same 3 updates appeared as needing to be installed.  I hit the button on the screen to 'install', waited, and the message of the screen reported that they were installed.  But at the same time, the yellow icon appeared on my screen, I clicked it, and once more, the same 3 updates come "Setup."

    4. then, as I said, they you install, or they are registered not just installation.

    5. I should mention one other piece of information.  Whenever I tried to use the Automatic Updates feature (which is what I use conventionally to install updates), at the end of the process, the dialog box that appears initially the number of updates and classically, which indicates that you have to restart your computer for updates day is taken into account had not the message you have to restart your computer for the updates to take effect.  Off-chance that someone forgot to put the message in the dialog box, I restarted my computer and again, has received the message to go with the "turning point" in the order of the updates to install.

6 now, as I type this, the yellow icon again appeared on the lower right of my screen, and it seems that it will continue to prompting me to 'install' these 3 updates forever, which is a problem.  I'm assuming that updates are necessary, because I'm on the internet a lot, and updates are updates to security.  I'm very faithful about the installation of the updates that I am asked to install, and I guess that there is therefore something wrong that prevents the actual facility to register as installed or who is repeatedly prompting me to install.

AGAIN, THIS IS A QUESTION THAT, WITHOUT IMMEDIATE ATTENTION, WILL DISABLE ME TO CONTINUE WORKING ON MY COMPUTER.  I HAVE REQUIRE IT IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.

    Thank you very much.

    YOURS TRULY,

    ALLAN

Since I posted this message for you earlier today, May 22, 2012, I got the yellow icon on my system after validation of it for you.  I signed and found on sign the guest to sign and install install 3 updates with closing time.  I'm out.  I have the House later, turned on my system came and again, found the yellow icon.

This time, I decided that this may have had something to do with the fact that the last time that I reinstalled my Microsoft Security Essentials software, instead of on the web, as I usually do, I did through Facebook.  I figured I would remove Microsoft Security Essentials the conventional way (Add / Remove Programs), and then reinstall it from the www.microsoft.com site, specifically the part of the security.

But when I tried, I got a warning message that Internet Explorer has proposed will not far enough, because the Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with what I was trying to download-install of Internet Explorer.  At the present time, I have so no software antivirus or firewall on my computer home.

I then went to the scanner the www.microsoft.com site which downloaded without problem and ran twice, a quick scan which turned up nothing.

This is a real problem for me, because at the present time, I can't work on my computer and it is connected to the internet and I am prevented to do any work, because I can not install 3 updates you tried to install on my system, probably to avoid malicious attacks on my system by far.

I posted on signature in this site twice my Hotmail address and asked to be informed when there are comments.  This is an issue that requires comments immediately, because I am currently prevented from performing any work on my computer.

Please help me as soon as humanly possible.  I'm rather desperate, because I can not work until I resolve this safety issue.

    Thank you.

  • NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5 updates detected repeatedly, KB2633880, KB2572073 and KB2518864

It seems that I lived this same problem with Windows Update services month last in terms of detection repeatedly updates.  This time they appear as essential.  My computer on my wireless network is running Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium Edition, which does not show updates available at this time.  The problem is now on my XP - Pro, also running IE8.  The three current updates, KB2633880, KB2572073 and KB2518864 have installed three times since my troubleshooting steps to fix the Windows updates detection did not work.  I ran so far, the cleanup tool NET Frame and Safet Scanner from Microsoft, which withdrew a piece of malware.  This is getting monotonous!  Microsoft has a solution?

Now that I have reinstalled 931125, this update does not reocurr under Windows Update.  So what I had to do was hide remaining ones I didn't install.  For now, until the next question, Windows Update seems to work normally.

  • Repeated failed installs Ko 977074, 978506, 978506. O/s of hanging in the journal began or pass the user's request.

    OK, here's my story:

Windows 7 Home Premium, solid running, since 13/10/09
History of failure of 974431 update that the next day, he managed without my taken part troubleshooting.  No complaints since more about 1 week ago got a BSoD outside no where while my child is on a restricted user account using IE.  Has not returned since, but suffice it to say.
So now it's 26/01/10 and an update to install Windows Defender K915597 with success.  Cool deal.  It end tonight here and he says it is to install the updates and then stops.  Next day:
    1/27 - KB976972 failed
    1/27 - KB978506 failed
    1/27 - KB977074 failed
    1/27 - KB976972 failed
    1/27 - KB978506 failed
    1/27 - KB977074 failed
    1/27 - office Live add-in 1.4 successful
    1/27 - KB976972 failed
    1/27 - driver update successful
    1/27 - KB977074 failed
    1/27 - KB976972 failed
    1/27 - KB978506 failed
    1/27 - KB977074 failed
See a pattern here?  So I should also mention that all of a sudden if I click log off or switch users while one of these updates says waiting and not pass/fail it hangs on Please wait... I waited about 10 minutes (normally it's about 10 seconds for the newspaper and immediate to change user) then have to restart the computer or force the feeding cycle.  So I decided to uncheck the Group of updates and just try one at a time through the automatic updates.
    Wait what he...
    1/28 - KB976972 successful
    1/28 - KB978506 successful
    1/28 - KB977074 successful
    1/28 - KB915597 successful (Windows Defender again)
    Hooray! life is good again!
It end tonight here and he said please wait... Configuration of windows or something like this.  Odd.  Given that all of the updates succeeded and I had no updates available message.  Well it stops down.
On the morning.  Please wait while windows configures (or other) updates failed returning changes.  What updates?  They managed you cursed!
    29/1 - KB976972 failed (what  Wait.  What?)
    1/29 - KB978506 failed (what  Wait.  What?)
    1/29 - KB977074 failed (what  Wait.  What
    ?)
    1/30 - KB976972 failed
    1/30 - KB978506 failed
    1/30 - KB977074 failed
1/30 - KB978506 failed (me trying just the update to the compatibility mode)
1/31 - KB977074 failed (my download and try to install the update manually)
So there is some sort of timeline for what it's worth.  So basically three updates repeatedly failing and play with my head.   Here are the error codes for each of them:
Update for Internet explore 8 Compatibility View List for Windows 7 (KB978506)
    Installation status: failed
    Error details: Code 80004004
    Update for Windows 7 (KB977074)
    Installation status: failed
    Error details: Code 80004004

    Update for Windows 7 (KB976972)
    Installation status: failed
    Error details: Code 80004004
More potentially useful data.  I have manually install a (977074), said she is successful and I want to reboot, Yes, please wait windows configuration, stops, comes up, please wait configuration updates, no error, log, look at the history of the update, says "pending" 977074 next, I reboot on mine, please wait windows configuration, stop , rises, please wait for configuration updates, UPDATES COULD not return changes, allows me to connect... She does it every time.
So I think I'll just deselect all and hide updates, screw it right?  I don't really have the situations these difficulty going home anyway.  So all deselected.  No found update, green check in Windows doesn't update.  Everything is cool.  Stop this night here, please wait windows configuration, stops, appears, wait for updated configuration to update, UPDATES FAIL back.
And yet, he is suspended when the logoff or switch user thing.
    Seriously.  What is going on?

    Hello

First, install the system tool using the link provided: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/947821

    Then, run boot.

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can try to troubleshoot this issue with a clean boot to see if we can identify a program or driver causing the problem you are experiencing.
A clean boot to start Windows with some programs and drivers off or on selection. By doing this through trials and errors we can hopefully identify a specific cause of this problem. Here's how to solve problems with a clean boot:

    Clean clean boot.

    1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
    The user account control permission.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type
    password, or click on continue.
    2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.
    3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load starting points.
    4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.
    5. click on OK.
    6. When you are prompted, click on restart.
    7. after the computer starts, check if the problem is resolved.

If the problem is resolved, make sure what third-party program is at the origin of the problem, referring to the link given below:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Reset the computer to start as usual.

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue. On the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click the Start button, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
    2. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
    3. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.

If you are still experiencing a problem, try the following:

I suggest to download the update manually and install it. Use the link below to download the update.

  • keep Windows update install 'kb2518864' / 'kb2572073' / 'kb2633880' repeatedly

Original title: windows update keep installation kb2518864/kb2572073/kb2633880 since this morning

The event viewer displays messages that says that each is installed successfully, but they do not appear in the list of "Add or update the program" in the control panel and immediately after it tries to install the 3 again and again. (each of them seeks to update .net framework 2.0sp2 or 3.5sp1)

BTW, I'm under XP Pro SP3 with all latest updates.

It seems that MS has solved the problem, all of a sudden the yellow reminder icon disappeared at the bottom of the screen. A number of people has the same reporded at the end of this thread.

It seems to have been corrected here too well, even without emptying the memory cache update.  Just all of a sudden the icon "updated pending" went.

The thing is that I have no problem running any software I can load plugins (component) I get warnings from the console on. Do I need to worry about this.

I have a journal to be I can post if necessary. Thanks a lot for any advice.

It's probably a third incompatible plug-ins. try to remove it. Please DO NOT publish a newspaper EtreCheck unless someone asks. You may be able to load plug-ins, but they can still be incompatible, therefore, errors of the Console. Some hardware/software you use, you should quit and detach. Then, uninstall the software responsible for plug-ins. If you do not have a program to uninstall for them:

Software to uninstall the program: the basics

Most OS X applications are completely independent "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the trash.  Applications can create preferences files that are stored in the folder/Home/Library/Preferences /.  Although they do nothing once you remove the associated application, they take up little space.  If you want you can find them in the location above and delete them, too.

Some applications may install an uninstall program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases, the uninstall program may be part of the installation of the application program and is called by clicking on a custom button that will appear during the installation process.

Some applications can install components in the Home/Library/Application Support / folder.  You can also check here to check if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that is located in the application Support folder.  Once again, they do nothing but take up disk space, once the application is trashed.

Some applications may install a startupitem, or Item Log In.  StartupItems are usually installed in the folder/Library/StartupItems/and less often in the folder/Home/Library/StartupItems /.  Journal items are defined in the preferences accounts.  Open system preferences, click accounts, and then click the login items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to remove from the list.

Some software uses demons start or agents which are a new feature of the operating system.  Look for them in/library/LaunchAgents/Library/LaunchDaemons/or in/Home/Library/LaunchAgents /.

If an application installs all the other files that the best way to find them is to search for Finder using the name of the application or the name of developer as a search term.  Unfortunately, Spotlight look in certain default folders.  You can change the behavior of Spotlight or use a third-party, EasyFindsearch utility, instead.

Some applications install a reception in the folder/library/receipts /.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The element typically has an extension ".pkg".  Do not forget that you also remove this element because some programs use to determine if it is already installed.

There are a lot of utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:

    1. AppZapper

    2. AppDelete

    3. PLC

    4. Hazel

    5. AppCleaner

    6. CleanApp

    7. iTrash

    8. amnesia

    9. uninstall program

    10. spring cleaning
