Keyboard does not properly

Hello
I have problem with my keyboard since yesterday.
For certain letters or numbers pressing them, he hits several characters. I do not have liquid spil on cleanead and I have dust and crumbs. Letters are not in the same area on the keyboard.

I tried to download the drivers from original laptop keyboard, but for my knees could not find so I guess I already have.
My version of the laptop is HP Pavilion e081sa-15 Notebook PC.
So, if someone has idea how to solve, I would be very grateful.

See you soon

Hello

This could be a hardware problem, but it is always worth trying the following.

Open windows control panel, open Device Manager, expand keyboards, right-click on the "Standard PS/2 Keyboard" entry and select uninstall.

Judgment of the laptop.

Then disconnect the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Kind regards

DP - K

Wanted to just report back then all would know how I fixed my problem with the keyboard and the mouse.

I did as you suggested and did a hard reset and that seemed to work for a while until I reconnected it the battery and the wireless mouse, and then I was right there where I started. So, I started all over and made the process of elimanation. First, put the battery and then checked everything, everything was ok, then I added the mouse back and that was the problem. So I went and bought a mouse wired and tried and it was ok too. Thus, it seems that the mouse wireless mГЄlГ with signals and that could be my cell phone or else as my Kindle wifi or iPad and they were near the laptop. Hello

I doubt that it could be a matter of bad adjustment.
If you would something on the keyboard which should not be enabled then you get another sign but not double letter?  :|

I think it s a keyboard issue possibly something wrong with hardware

Could check you if the same phenomenon occurs by using different applications; Word, Wordpad, Editor, etc.
If the same keyboard behavior would persist with different software, then this would be related to hardware (keyboard problem).

  • Satellite A505-S6980 - keyboard does not properly

Hello, here is a brief description of this aweful problem I have on my 2 month old A505 S6980.

As I tried to install Ubuntu, I was restarting windows 7 starts, a screen came to ask me to choose what operating system I want to start, everything seemed normal, but the keyboard was dead, I couldn't choose any.
I used the power button to restart, but then it would start just after the BIOS loaded, a black screen with a cursor blinking in the upper left for a few seconds, then a beep FORT comes out continuously (beep beep beep beep...) and nothing loads.

I have attached a USB keyboard and it worked... after many attempts to boot from USB or CD, I managed today to see that the problem seems to come from the keyboard.

In fact, when I press the letter 'r', he wrote "r4".
    y = y6 [backspace]
    / = /0

The keypad is nuts, 5 active / disable the Numlock. When you press 2 twice he wrote 52.
    The arrows write numbers...
Some Fkeys does not as well...

I bought this laptop only 2 months ago of Lebanon and just now, I am in France. I like there is no people of Toshiba in France who can fix things, except in Paris, that will be quite a chore!

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hello
Have you tried to pick the operating system with external keyboard? I think, there is a problem with windows mbr (master boot record) which has corrupted by Ubuntu. Try to make the recovery of the system from the hard drive, but I guess it's already gone

  • Re: Satellite L350-145 - keyboard does not properly

    Hello

I came here hoping that someone might be able to help.

Suddenly, some time ago my keyboard started to behave a bit strange. The arrows of the cursor type letters rather than direct me to the top or the bottom of a page (letters hkl instead of captiti, of left and right that will take the arrow to the left will take back you a space but only after type h). The zero on the numeric keypad is always followed by 3 (03). The z moves to the (invisible) to somewhere else on the page and you must use the touchpad to get back to your place and often using theshift key for the CAPITALS can create chaos as you continue to type without realizing that you're somewhere else on the page.

It's starting to really annoy me. Scroll to my itunes is a disaster - I am always taken to artists starting on the letter k!

Someone suggested an electrical short-circuit on the keyboard, but I don't know what I should do to solve this problem, if this is indeed the problem. Can anyone help? Oh yes, one? is always followed by a p and / is also followed by p and -always followed by a w.
I have plugged and used a USB keyboard and everything works fine so I know it's the laptop and not the operating system.

    your in great hope!

    Thank you

PS - I'm not that tekkie so simple tips you know would like to thank - I have no idea what a BIOS is!

    Thanks again

    Hi Jennifer,.

    > I have plugged and used a USB keyboard and everything works fine
So the case is clear: your internal keyboard is faulty and you need a new. As you wrote, if an external keyboard is working properly, it s not related to the operating system.

In my opinion, you should contact the closest service provider authorized in your country. These guys you can get a new keyboard and they can trade for you. If your laptop is under warranty, the repair is free and if not, the keyboard isn't so expensive.

  • Keyboard does not work properly

    Hello

I had trouble getting my laptop satellite to initialize. Recovery disks & pressing F keys weren't working so I decided to open the laptop to see if there are any loose connections. To my surprise, the laptop seems to work again once I had the USB keys and put back them in! Unfortunately, before that I did, I opened the keyboard and peeked inside.

When I booted up and tried to use the keyboard keys half of their work and the other half seem to think that they represent two other keys for example if I type the letter 'E' I get '3' and '-' as a whole. After 5-10 minutes the entire keyboard will become totally unresponsive until I restart again. Of course, I think I've done something here because this problem since I opened the bottom of the keyboard. This could be a hardware failure I have caused or is anyway that this issue can be resolved without replacing anything?

    Thank you very much

    Tom

    Hi Tom

Theoretically, it might be just a connection lost between the keyboard and the motherboard, but I'm afraid, it can be a serious problem of m.
Maybe you have damaged the connector of the keyboard cable or something similar, and not the keyboard does not work properly.

I think the keyboard needs to be replaced to check if only this part is affected

  • Satellite C660 - new internal keyboard does not work

    Hello

I'm completely stuck I have a portable satellite c660 keyboard did not work.
So I bought a replacement keyboard and installed and checked in the Device Manager and it says it is there and works correctly, but the replacement keyboard still does not work.

I updated the bios and uninstalled the keyboard drivers and reinstalled them that I've done everything I can think off to try and get this new keyboard working but I am having no luck and could so with some assistance.

Have you ever checked if the USN external keyboard works properly?

I ask because in the case where the external keyboard does not work properly, the internal keyboard problem could be related to faulty keyboard controller (motherboard) or a problem of system m.

In case the external keyboard would work properly, you had any luck with the new keyboard. It might be possible that the new keyboard is malfunctioning.

    Hello

I guess you checked if the Tablet has been properly connected to the docking keyboard.

Have you tried to unplug and plug the docking again?
Note: there is a latch on the left you have to move and in order to remove the tablet.

Perhaps there is a connection problem.

  • Satellite A300D-126 the keyboard does not work

I reinstalled the driver but it still does not. What could be the problem? Help please. Thank you

    Hello

    What s wrong exactly?
    You have reinstalled the drivers?
    What drivers do you mean?

The keyboard driver is part of the Windows operating system and it cannot be reinstalled separately.

If your keyboard doesn't work properly then either the software doesn't run as it should, or the material (keyboard) is defective.

You could try reinstalling the operating system using the Toshiba HDD recovery to check whether the problem is related to the software.
If the keyboard does not work after this procedure, then a hardware problem might be possible.
