killdisk to wipe HD / partition

Computer Dell laptop is preloaded with XP / children high virus / cleaned HD but not being able to reload XP - so I used the 2003 server. Now the computer is having problems with loading the drivers and updates so I decided to clean and start over. I've done it before on many occasions. Only this time, I have experienced this problem. Software does not (OS Win 98, NT, 2000). The computer will allow tools disk partitioning to the work of the hirems boot disk, but ultimately the computer starts with no bios screen, then it will rest at an empty shell with blinking cursor.

Hi, Phicolcomm,

You cannot reformat a disk or partition that is currently in use, including the partition that contains Windows. It is a safety feature so that you cannot delete Windows by accident. To reformat the hard drive of your computer and reinstall Windows, restart your computer using the Windows installation disc (this is commonly known as booting from the installation disc). During the installation process, you can repartition and reformat your hard disk and then reinstall Windows. The process will erase your files and programs, so remember to make backups of your data files and the program before you start. For more information, search Windows Help and Support "installation and reinstalling Windows."

  • Question on erasing the HARD drive and partitions

Hi my name is Fanta and I want to sell my laptop to someone, but I want to avoid impersonation so.
I'll use an erasure software that will wipe away my whole HARD drive until there is no data.
This is why I would like to know if there is a recovery on my HARD drive partition ready, and if there is a partition to the HARD drive recovery.

Wipe tool will wipe the partition on the HARD disk. If he wipe the partition will take the recovery partition and if I need the recovery partition and I don't what will happen?

    Hello

Generally, you won't find any recovery on the HARD drive partition. The Toshiba Recovery CD should always be supplied with the device. It must be only installed the operating system with the Toshiba drivers and utilities.
However, if the Erase tool will also clear your partition then all files and data will be deleted.

The HARD drive will be formatted again during the installation of the OS. If you want to use partitions on the HARD disk, you can create it in addition with Magic8 Partitions. I use this app and it of very great.

  • Time machine backup partition

According to many resources, that I found while searching, it has been possible, in disk utility, to partition an external backup time machine which was currently being used.  several pages instruct to select the drive in disk utility and click the partition tab.  but it seems that this option is rejected in el capitan, as the partition button is dimmed when I select the drive.  y at - it another way to pull this off, or I'll have to make a copy of the database on a different drive, wipe and partition external and re - set after you have copied the data base on?

    Thank you.

El Capitan has not changed this ability, something happens. Select the drive, and then click info. Check the window long enough to capture all of its contents (the device tree path is not important and can be truncated). Take a screenshot and paste it into a response.

Reinstall Vista 32-bit on the partition C erase data on other partitions?  Y / N
    Chris.

    Hello Chris,

Installation from recovery or a recovery partition disks ' "won't replace (wipe) the partitions that you created. The idea is to "valuing your system back to factory conditions", which means exactly that.

I suggest that you save all the information about the partitions that you created on a removable USB drive. As soon as you reinstalled windows, you can then recreate the partitions and copy the information from your removable USB hard drive hard disk internal.

Something like DBAN or Killdisk can wipe all the partition information that should allow FDISK to exploit. I don't know if either as a diskette version, I've only seen versions of optical media, so unless you have another PC to burn on you might have to Google for an another floppy drive.

  • Windows Vista recovery failed, then I install Windows 8 on the not Bootable Windows Vista.

I am new to MAC and OS I have MAC pro laptop with El Captain OS X I wiped my internal Macintosh HD by the disc utilities I did it because I need to learn how to reinstall a new operating system now when I start the system, I get a message (appel.com/support-3403F) and I cannot get the disc utilities again , I have not a boot for CD type of BONE that I already made the backup until I wipe the partition so kindly your advice

Start of recovery volume (command - R on a restart, or hold down the option/Alt during a restart and select the Volume of recovery). Run disk utility, then select first aid. Then re-install the operating system. Your other choices in the recovery Partition is to restore your Time Machine computer, if that's how you did your backup.

Here is a quote from the article:

How to fix Apple 7 iPhone and iPhone 7 more overheating problem with these solutions:

    • There is a good chance that a third-party application is the cause of overheating Apple iPhone 7 and iPhone Plus 7. The best way to check this problem is by pressing the power and the Home button until the screen becomes black and then remove your finger from home while continuing to press power. Once you see the Apple logo - press and hold the volume up button until the springboard of the charges. If the appliance is in Mode safe tweaks will disappear under the settings menu. If the problem has disappeared, then you know that it is caused by a third-party application. You can try to uninstall one by one in order to track it down or go for a factory reset.
    • Before you Apple 7 factory reset and iPhone iPhone 7, it is recommended to wipe the partition cache of the smartphone (Learn how to clear Apple 7 iPhone and iPhone 7 more hiding). • Excite Pro - problem of WLan authentication after 4.3 update

    Hello

I have a Pro excite, and today I did all the updates that where possible to the Toshiba service station.
The last update Idid was the 4.2 to 4.3.

After this update, it is not possible to connect to my Wifi.
    Authentication problem...

I tried all of them, with or without WPS restarting the Tablet and the router...
Before this update, it was no problem to connect with WiFi.

    What can I do?

You can try to reset the Android system to factory settings and might try to reconfigure the wireless network.

I found this recommendation in one of the discussions of the forum:

+ The reset process will erase all data, settings and apps on your tablet. You must have a backup of any data you want to keep before proceeding. +

+ 1. Make sure the Tablet is turned off and not in sleep mode. +
+ 2. Hold the volume and Power buttons simultaneously until the two Android icons appear. +
+ 3. Use the volume buttons to select the white box to the right. +
+ 4. Once selected, press the power button. +
+ 5. Use the volume keys to select wipe cache partition, and then press the power button. +
+ 6. Select Yes, and then press the power button. +
+ 7. Use the volume keys to select wipe data / factory reset and press the power button. +
+ 8. Select Yes, and then press the power button. +
+ 9. The tablet will reset now. +

I want to install Windows 7 Pro 64 bit on Sat Pro C50 (downgrade if you like - comes with 8 win), but I want UEFI boot, with GPT partitioning.
I'm happy wipe existing partitions if that solved the problem.

I have disabled _have_ Secure Boot.
    Win 8 install DVD boot works;
CSM boot and boot from Win 7 DVD works - but this is not what I want.
Definition of return to the UEFI boot and install Win7 boot media - hangs on "Starting Windows" screen
Media _is_ good, works well on the PC manufacturers.

I'm not convinced that it is a problem of Microsoft.

    Hello

On Toshiba laptops, where the UEFI BIOS is available, it of necessary to disable secure boot and change the boot to the CSM mode in order to boot from external sources and install systems other than Win 8 or 8.1 Win

Of the workarounds in the internet described the installation of Windows 7 in UEFI mode but I doubt that this will be possible on Toshiba laptops because the BIOS is different and modified for each series of laptop.

  • Cannot delete files from USB HDD CCC attached to Time Capsule

    Hello

I use an external DRIVE (WD MyBook Studio) disc that contains two partitions: "CCC-Backup' (where Carbon Copy Cloner stores its backups/clones) and 'Media' (for my movie collection). This HARD drive was attached to my iMac, but now I have the seal to a Time Capsule via USB. Both partitions appear in the Finder and I can see all the data. So far so good.

Now, I want to set up my backup of CCC from scratch. To free up space, delete the contents of the old 'CCC Backup' partition. First of all, I see a message like "XXX.XXX current objects of deletion":

But then, after a while, I receive a message telling me that the deletion failed because I do not have the appropriate privileges (I am admin on my iMac, however).

I have no idea if this is a related question CCC or if it could be due to the fact that the HARD drive is now connected to the time Capsule? Could someone please give me a tip how I'll be able to remove the old CCC where backup files?

When the hard drive is plugged into the TC it indeed belongs to the TC. You must create a directory on the drive of your computer to be the owner of this particular directory. But what you do when the drive is connected to your computer is ignored when plugged into the network, it is owned by the network device.

So the solution is very simple... Plug it into your computer, wipe the partition and then plug it into the TC.

You must use sparsebundle then CCC for backup. It is important to understand that the CCC as Time Machine backup impossible similarly to a network drive.
