Cache partition

It says to turn off phones hold power and volume until the screen flickers and then release to access book online zcreen. When I do this the phone just vibrates in a pulse like State but no flicker of the screen. Does anyone know how to access the startup screen so I can wipe cache partition

Also, what version of android and device do you have? Lollipop and especially there is no such thing as cache partition, you can clean caches of parameters, storage.

Then it updates earlier made clear the dalvik cache in the start menu of recovery to take an incredibly long time. I know that this has been discussed at some point, but no real explanation was ever given. Does anyone know if the Moto X 1st generation suffers from it as well? I was just curious to know if this could be one of the reasons that Motorola decided to not upgrade the Droid Maxx. Did someone never found a fix for the delay to the clearing the dalvik cache? I had many features of many factory and never saw it take so long to clear the cache, it is usually done in a few seconds. I would like to hear of a Motorola technician who understands what has caused the phone to start taking so long to clear the cache after the update. Thank you.

Just to be clear, although it is confusing, the cache partition isn't Dalvik cache. Dalvik cache is stored in the/data partition. The cache partition stores things like log files, temporary files for system applications and system update files, until they are implemented.

I know not why this happens, but my guess is that, rather than a simple format of the cache partition, Motorola began to crawl the system files to remove file by file - perhaps, they are sure wiped or something. I'm not sure.

If I remember correctly, the Turbo on KitKat and Lollipop had the same behavior, but the Turbo 2 on Lollipop is now an instant wipe. See here for reference on the Turbo in 7-10 minutes to erase the cache partition: http://androidforums.com/threads/droid-turbo-reference-and-tips.879102/#post-6797620

The 2013 Moto X also had the same behavior when it has been updated to 4.4.4 (see https://forums.motorola.com/posts/db89ab1a65) and it has been updated to the lollipop, so I would say that this has nothing to do with this decision. It's probably more that Motorola just doesn't have the resources to work on the update and would rather spend on M updates for new phones (unlocked 2014 Moto X, Moto models G, Turbo, Turbo 2, Maxx 2, so updates to security for the platforms that are already on the M.)

  • ZBOOK 17 - Flash Cache & general system failure

    Greetings,

    History:

On my first install of windows on my 17 Zbook, the operating system installed the system reserved on the flash SSD cache partition. I thought I'd do a reinstall when I ordered and installed a 1 TB SSD. I removed all hard drives and flash installed the operating system cache, then turned off the computer and re-installed the cache flash. Now when I try to boot it gives me 5 flashes on the caps/NumLock with a pretty black screen.

Has anyone encountered this before? All I could do to fix it? Thanks in advance,

    Ryan

Thanks for the reply. I'll be sure to do that next time.

I eventually found how to fix it. I removed all the readers, disconnected from all power and then removed the BIOS battery. He gave some time, clinging to power, and she came back to life. Of course he gave me some error messages, but after removing the power again and reconnect all devices (the ssd of 32 GB samsung flash cache included) then turn it on, everything was back to normal.

No idea why she wanted to play dead but at least he's back running.

  • How to erase the partition hiding?

I tried the method mentioned on the website of the bike, but it has not worked, selected recovery, is gone up android robo logo nd tht then rebooted normally.

Hello. For the E-bike (2nd generation), change the following procedure to clear cache partition.

  • Is empty the cache broken in the last update?

In following these instructions in the past, empty the cache takes 5 minutes and when restarting it would go while "Optimizing the app xx xx" and take a long time.

I tried this tonight and the wipe cache in the recovery takes about 5 seconds, weird, but I continued and restarted. It starts normally and was in the lock screen in under 2 minutes, with no sign of the optimization of applications. So I rebooted and tried again, same result, Journal practically the same cache. A second wipe cache in a row without restarting the computer gives the same results without the entries "blk".

    This does not seem normal.

  • Clear cache in the recovery menu

Hi everyone, hope you enjoyed your weekend.

I wanted to wipe the cache memory of the phone because he was almost 3.5 GB (as seen in settings > storage > storage cache) on the 10 GB available for the user in the 16 GB model. For this I followed the guide to enter the recovery menu by restarting the phone and the compensation/wiping cache memory.

But when I rebooted the after the complete "wipe" message in recovery to see that it was not successful. I always saw 3.5 GB in storage parameters caching. Clicking top authorized. But what of the process in the recovery menu? It does not work?

Before that he used to work on my Note 2. All the world is facing this?

The only thing that wipe cache partition will wipe in recovery is the system cache. You need to remove the cache to the application via the settings > storage setting. There isn't a way to do both at the same time. I hope this helps.

  • Behavior of batch writeback in level of EP partition transactions

    Hello

We use EntryProcessors to perform updates on several entities stored in the cache partition. According to the documentation, consistency manages all updates in a 'sandbox' and then atomically commits them to the carrier of the cover sheet.

The question is, when using writeback, ensures consistency all updated in the same "transaction level partition' entries will be present in the same operation"storeAll?

Once again, according to the documentation, the behavior of lazy writer thread is this:

    • The thread is waiting for an entry ripe become queued.
    • When an entry reached its climax, the thread removes all blackberries and soft-ripe entries in the queue.
    • The thread then writes all the entries of blackberries and mulberries soft via store() (if there is only the single mature entry) or storeAll() (if there are several entries of blackberries/soft-ripe).
    • Then, the thread again (1).

If all the entries updated in the same transaction level partition become ripe or soft mature at the same time they will be present in the operation of storeAll. If they are not soft-blackberries/mulberries at the same time, they cannot all be present.

So, everything depends on the behavior of the validation of the transaction of partition level, so all entries postmarked even for the update, they will all become ripe at the same time.

Is anyone know what behavior we can expect in this regard?

    Thank you.

    Hello

This comment is relevant to 3.7.1. I guess the same thing remains can be found in paragraph 12.1, but have not checked yet.

There is no contract between "transactions level partition" and cache store.

In practice, in the case of writing-although

-storeAll() is never called, updated entries are transferred to call store() one by one.

    writeback cace

-It works according to documentation (which you cited) without consent and limits 'partition level transactions

  • Integrate Hibernate L2 cache with consistency in the composite key of reference

    Hi all:
I have a problem when I activate the Hibernate l2 cache integrated with consistency. When the entity class using this string or unique integer primary key, the L2 cache has worked well. But when I use the entity with composite key class, I had the problem.
I wrote a script to test junit to test the session.get method, when I run the test cases for the first time, the miss of the entity to load the object from the cache, Hibernate will trigger a DB query so it box as an object, then put it in the cache. But when I run the test case, again, I found the Hibernate trigger a query once again, which was strange... (it should not have happened, I should got the object from the cache), then, I used the console cache coherence to list the data in the cache and finding himself under the information:

    model. SiteUserInfo #model. SiteUserID@323819 = Item {version = null, freshTimestamp = 1333943690484
    model. SiteUserInfo #model. SiteUserID@323819 = Item {version = null, freshTimestamp = 1333943600419
    ###########################################
There are two keys with the same value cached... (I put already implemented method hashcode and equals to SiteUserID object). someone there has the same problem? Or L2 Hibernate with composite key can integrate with consistency?

    Hi John,.

I think there may be another problem.

    Please reference:
    http://blackbeanbag.NET/WP/2010/06/06/coherence-key-HOWTO/
For entry cache, partitioned cache is placed in backup card in binary form.
The main objects of the same data must always be serialized in binary form even.

Unfortunately, use Hibernate CacheKey is as key cache L2.
And CacheKey is somewhat complex, some related attributes use TreeMap as their type.
"Java gives no guarantee on the order in a hash table and serialization is dependent on the command."
    (reference http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9337126/how-can-oracle-coherence-get-fail-with-retrieved-key-object)

So... you may need to modify the source code of some Hibernate, ex: replace the FastHashMap in TreeMap...
I tried, it looks like work. I'll send you have modified source codes.

    Best regards

  • Near Cache update

We currently have a relative-cache with a Cache partitioned on the Cluster.
It contains about 60K objects that are quite large (they take about 60ms to load).
We load the objects into the Cache by using get (key) - the key is of type Long
Periodically, the objects are changed in the cache, which causes they expire and be removed from the front NearCache.
We do not want delay of 60ms when multi-threaded application next comes touch this object.

Essense, we need a near cache that actively supports its working set in a State to date, instead of the current «refresh on demand» approach
We are very sensitive to the need to minimize the number of block outputs network and latency.

-We want all the benefits of a NearCache (we use HighUnits/expires/Invalidation etc.).
NOTE: It is not possible to use a continuous Query Cache because the keys do not confirm a filter and are loaded on an ad hoc basis by key.

There are two options for possible implementation:

Plan has. When it receives an event to update the cache support, instead of immediately remove the key from the card before, it should re - ask the new value from the cache to support and update the map before with this new value. Insertions and deletions proceed as usual. This ensures uninterrupted access from the point of view of the customer.

Plan B. They will say that it can leave the cache in an inconsistent state, while we await the new value (especially if it is done asynchronously). In this case, we can proceed to the removal of the key from the card before, in the expectation that it will be reinserted when we receive a new value. This can impact the customer with a delay, while we wait for the new value. However, the probability of such a lack of cache is rather small, unless the client requests the same keys very frequently and repeatedly. We can set up with occasional delays, but with the current implementation we incur a guaranteed period.

(We could use a listener on the FrontMap and use a JavaThreadPoolExecutor that loaded the object by key).
We might have a beforeUpdate on the FrontMap event, so that the value doesn't go away until we have had time to update (the old object is pretty good until we get the new value and better than a delay of 60ms)

    Hi André,.

I just wanted to share the results of our conversation in offline mode for the benefit of everyone following this thread.

    Jon Purdy
    Oracle

"My main goal here is to avoid creating something that creates many questions (from complexity) it solves."

I _think_ the best approach is probably to leave the near cache as it is currently and wrap an another "cache" around him (for get-only read-only access to the potentially stale data). Your application code must decide what cache for access, but I think it's a good thing that you should be explicitly recognizing the different models of competition (for example between a cache coherent and voluntarily reducing consistency in order to increase the availability of data). I think it would be better for this "cache" to actually expose a traditional CAD - ish interface (for example, something like PotentiallyStaleCustomersDAO.findByPrimaryKey (long key)) rather than the more generic NamedCache interface; in part because more implementation of some methods of the NamedCache interface will get very tricky due to the unique semantics involved here.

Your DAO implementation must maintain a small card thread-safe internally. This map contains outdated values (exclusively) during the window between when an invalidation removes an element from the near cache, and when the prefetch sets a new value in the car. Your DOA will make a look-aside in this card, and if it finds a value will return that; otherwise, it will forward the request to the cache close.

You will need to create a custom listener and register it on the near cache (not sure if you want on the cache close itself or only the card internal before).
-On near cache "invalidate" send the 'old' value in the cache, DAO (he will be "reference") and send an asynchronous read-ahead task
-On another near the cache removal, remove the value from the cache DAO (just ensure that the DAO is not implemented cache data that is not the cache near)

Use the same task "Prefetch" providing for 'Plan B', but extend it to remove the item from the cache, DAO as soon as the call to "get" the near cache ends. This will result in a benign race condition if another thread asking the same key, but you can be sure that each "invalidation" will be matched by a corresponding 'prefetch', that will keep the own DAO cache (you can also do DAO to cache a local cache of limited size, if you want to, but that the size of it will be indirectly limited by the size of the cache close should not be necessary).

If you really want the NamedCache interface, you can configure a local cache and specify a CacheLoader then wrap you this CacheLoader around the above search method and set an infinitesimal size / time (for example 1 input and 1 ms expiry) on the cache. However, I would avoid it as you expand your API and hide the semantics of the strange concurrency data. "And most of the NamedCache methods would be useless to you."

  • Negative result, caching, son of aggregation

    I have two questions:

    1. perform one of the coherence caches 'negative' caching the result? An example to explain what I mean:
I have a near cache under a partitioned cache, which is supported by a database. I do a get looking in the cache, partitioned cache and DB and does not find the value. If I don't then get another for the same consistency key will go all the way to the DB again to look for? ContainsKey works the same way?

    2. This is to increase the number of threads used for aggregation on a node unique consistency? I have a machine with lots of carrots and a parallel aggregator that uses a bit of CPU. I wish that consistency to run multiple instances of the aggregator in parallel without me having to start the process.

    Hi Cormac,

reading / writing support cards can make Miss caching.

Look at the documentation of the child of element of the element:

    http://coherence.Oracle.com/display/COH34UG/read-write-backing-map-scheme

This allows you to cache the ladies in the database. Caching misses on the front near cache plan should not be made as it would break the access cache semantics closely because the front plane contains usually only a portion of the total data set not least because its entries are invalidated on changes to other nodes.

  • Toshiba Excite Pro - Excessive battery drain

A few weeks, my Toshiba excited Pro started draining battery standby time ago tomorrow. He's going in less than 24 hours from full to empty. On the battery monitor, it says 'Tablet standy' is originally battery drain - isn't an app has become crazy.

I tried to restart, I tried to use not all the apps that I have installed, I even tried a factory reset. Yet the battery drain. I have a feeling that it could be linked to an update of the infrastructure of the Google Services.

Anyone who knows the same problem? I guess we need a firmware update to solve, and I'm not optimistic to see everyone.

So should I return it? I'm put off by the clause of the Toshiba warranty that says they're going to charge me 60 pounds if the Tablet 'requires only an update of the firmware'. I think it is exactly what it takes, but first Toshiba would need produce the new firmware. I guess I should go through the retailer then?

Up to now nobody has reported such similar behaviour of the Tablet and so I think that the theory about the Google service infrastructure could not be completely correct. But that's just an assumption...

AnywayI read some reviews on the battery drain problem in mode 'sleep' with other android tablets.
Someone wrote that partition the cache wiping system can help if the appliance starts to behave strangely or slowly, or in the case where the battery would start to shift very quickly.
System cache partition is a system such as the log files data storage area, frequently accessed data app which has been temporarily put in cache, and downloaded apk Installer files from the game of Google.

In order to clear the cache partition, you need to access the Recovery Menu (button / stop + volume up).

However, there is a proposed solution that has been suggested by other users of android. Not sure if this might help you.

  • Excite Pro - problem of WLan authentication after 4.3 update

After this update, it is not possible to connect to my Wifi.

I tried all of them, with or without WPS restarting the Tablet and the router...
Before this update, it was no problem to connect with WiFi.

    What can I do?

You can try to reset the Android system to factory settings and might try to reconfigure the wireless network.

I found this recommendation in one of the discussions of the forum:
