  First remove it from the Add & Remove programs. Then restart the laptop and install the downloaded again common modules.

• Drivers needed for Tecra A3

  Tried Knoppix and seems to work except some problems with drivers for the following:

  1 modem driver-Lucent/Agere-try kanotix which have builtin drivers no longer works. Don't force not to load the serial.o
  2 usb is detected but does not work
  3. usb to serial adapter-very important to me - I have a prolific brand that works like a breeze in xp

  The problem is that the unit is not supported and if you have problems using the Linux operating system, you're on your own. In my opinion, you should try to find a driver on a support page. Also check for general support page of Knnopix on http://www.knoppix.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=1.

  To use the 3 G, you should first check whether the module G ericsson 3 has been successfully installed.

  Although the processor is underemployed (approx. 20% of capacity), the fan works half of the time!

  When the fan is running the Toshiba PC Health Monitor shows approximately 44% CPU temp. and 36% system temp.

  When the fan works not the Toshiba PC Health Monitor shows similar values!

  What is it good for?

  In my opinion, the fan is not alone. I have not found a possibility to adjust the speed of the fan (PC Health Monitor always shows 45%) or the starting temperature. The current Version of BIOS is installed.

  Is it possible to get a SMART fan control?

  What you can do is to change some parameters in the Windows power options.
  Go to the control panel? power options
  Select the power plan you use.
  Then choose Advanced settings.

  In the advanced power settings, you will find the option method Cooing and the performance of the processor.
  I recommend you degrade the performance of the max processor at 90-95% and to change the method of passive cooling (both for the battery and plugged)

  I recently bought my new Tecra A11-125 online and so far I really like it!

  BUT: I work with a translation software where I need the shortcut Ctrl + Alt + arrow down quite often. This shortcut has been configured as an aid to turn the screen tilted up.

  I disabled the shortcuts under graphics properties (right click Desktop > graphics properties > shortcuts > disable). It worked fine the first day.
  The next day, I started the laptop and: the screen keeps turning up-side-down. I checked the settings and shortcuts are always disabled. Nothing seems to have changed... but I can't solve my problem... Strange, isn't it?

  The mentioned shortcut is a part of the software/driver for graphics card. It s not a feature of the Windows operating system. This is why I recommend to uninstall the driver for the graphics card first, and then after reboot again and cleaning of registry (using CCleaner) you could install the driver of graphics again.
