Windows xp missing or damaged \windows\system32\l_intl.nls help thanks

Hello

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community Forum, please be assured that we would do our best to help you with this problem.

Please answer the following questions that would help us provide a better solution.

1. when exactly you get this error message?

2 have had any changes made to the computer before the question?

3. What is the full error message you get?

The. NLS file extension identifies a file of Code Page National Language Support. It contains a table to translate the text in other alphabets (such as Cyrillic or Hebrew) languages and has been used under MS-DOS... Incorrect associations are the cause of many file extension errors.

Try these steps and check:

Step 1:

Let us first start the SFC scan and check if there are any file system corruption.

1 put the Windows XP CD in the CD-ROM.

2. click on 'Quit' if the auto-menu appears.

3. click on 'Start', then click on 'run '.

4. Type "SFC/scannow" (without the quotes) in the "Open" box, then click on 'OK '.

Note: There is a space between "SFC" and "/ Scannow".

The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

More information on SFC scan found in this document:

Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File Checker (Sfc.exe)

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310747

Step 2:

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: Put the normal computer as described in the How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the article.

Step 3:

Run a virus scanner and check:

Scan your computer for the Microsoft Security Scanner, which allows to get rid of viruses, spyware and software malware.

http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner expire after 10 days from the date of installation.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Hope this information helps. If you have any questions do not hesitate to answer, we would be happy to help

Here is an answer I've found: http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/34039669/nls-data-is-missing--cannot-repair.aspx of Gary Velvet:

I set up an instance of Vista virtual machine and copied since all the
*.nls in/Windows/System32 files and all *.fon files of the
Windows/Fonts.  I then put on a USB key and inserted in
    the breakage of the machine.

I didn't know that this WindowsRE could read USB drives. It does things
easier. I then crushed the files on the area damaged with those of the

Is it possible that the BIOS cannot be updated because the software does not support windows 7 64 bit ULTIMATE?

Thank you in advance. I have a new graphics card today (Radeon HD 6570 - who has been recommended by Mr. Paul Tikkanen, thank you), and I guess I should have my current BIOS a bit, no?

    Hello:

There should be no need to update the BIOS, if everything is working properly.

If you want to update the BIOS, you must use the built in Flash ROM of system menu in the BIOS.

It is the safest and easiest way to Flash the BIOS.

All you need is a USB stick formatted with the FAT 32 file system.

Download the latest BIOS update, then run it.

You should get a page of instructions.  On this page, you want the option F10 system flash rom and you should see a summary of BACK flash folder view.

Copy all the files in this folder on your USB.

Plug the drive into the usb port, restart the PC and at the beginning of the HP welcome screen, press the F10 key to access the BIOS.

There will be a menu to System Flash ROM

What to choose and it should see the BIOS update files on the usb flash drive.  Then follow the instructions on the screen to proceed to the update of the BIOS.

  • Qosmio F10 does not start system missing or damaged

So, now my computer with startup options start, but what that you choose the system starts again and again...

What to do? Please, I beg you.

Hmmm usually after using the CD recovery Toshiba, everything should work ok.
I read on some computer expert sites that this problem could be linked to the hardware failure. The HARD drive or the module memory is possibly corrupt.

I would first recommend formatting the entire HARD drive (remove also all partitions).
    Install the operating system again.
If it does not solve this problem you could check if it is possible to install from the original CD of Microsoft XP.
Further, you can see the memory modules. Try to remove one and use only one or replace it with a new one.

But please note that these are just my suggestions and I m not 100% sure if these proposals will allow you to solve problems. In any case it s worth a try

My computer laptop satellite toshiba A300D

    Hello

You mean that you are not able to recover the laptop using the HDD recovery procedure?
You can begin the HARD drive by pressing F8, choose fix my computer.
Then a new window should appear and you could choose a new option called Toshiba HDD recovery.

If this is not possible then I think that you don't have a choice but to reinstall the OS using a Setup (Microsoft or Toshiba) disk.
If you don t have this disc then you order on this website:

    Hello

It would be interesting now what model phone you have and what OS you are using.

Normally, if you get Toshiba Recovery disk, you must start on the first disc and the installation, you need to insert the second disk.
Alternative try a disc of Microsoft. Maybe you recovery disk is noisy and so it can t be read correctly.

  • Equium A60: System is missing or damaged

My laptop is broken! It's say \windows\system32\config\system is missing or damaged and asks me to use the original installation disk. The thing is, I did not. Where can I get one, or is there another way around this problem?

    Hello

You can buy this CD in the Toshiba service partner. It s not very expensive. This disc includes the image of an operating system and all Toshiba drivers & utilities.
The other way is to use an original copy of Microsoft Windows. After the installation of the OS, you must install all the drivers of Toshiba which are placed on the Web site.
Please note that the proper installation order is necessary.

PS: Before you get your unit try to use a Microsoft System Restore tool

    Hello

Seems the CD/DVD drive cannot handle the recovery disk I m not very well why, but you can try to copy this disc (burn on another drive) and then try to use the copied disc in order to restore the operating system.

In many cases, this could help.

  • Satellite L300-11V - system registry file is missing or damaged

Need help, I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite L300D-11V, which, when turned on gives the message that the system registry file is missing or damaged.

My problem is that when the first installation program, I did not back up files of recovery on DVD in the event of such problems like this, my questions are, is there any way around this without the recovery disk to reinstall Vista from hardrive?

I can't find a way to do this or Toshiba will provide a recovery disk or a software download (for free or to buy) and it is the only option that is available to solve my problem?

The laptop is still under warranty for another 11 months am I covered for the hardware/software in this situation he has taken over the shop I bought that they said they couldn't do anything without the recovery disk.

    Help, thanks in advance.

    Hello!

You can reinstall Vista without the recovery disks. If want to repair your computer by restoring it to the original factory State, you can do so directly from the hard disk (press F8 when you start your computer, choose "Repair your computer"
"and follow the instructions in the menu).

Normally you had recommended to burn the recovery disk when you first start. There is a reminder that pop ups from time to time to burn the disc.
Toshiba does not provide a software download, it is all preinstalled on your laptop.

After the reinstallation, please create the recovery disk. If you need it and didn't burn this, you have to pay.

  • following cartridges appear to be missing or damaged

    Hello

I have a HP Officejet 6500 has more. I replaced the ink in the printer several times since I bought it, but I had a LOT of problems with these cartridges. I get the error prompt "the following cartridges appear to be missing or damaged." I have owned HP printers from the early days with my first Mac, but I've never had this problem. There is no real secret to install these cartridges, but I lose more time down error message that I do print. It is not productive.

So if Miss me something, please tell me what because it is of course a pain.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Try to walk although this document and see if it solves your problem.

  • Satellite A60 crashes and restart the cycle - missing or damaged system32\DRIVERS\Ntfs

I have a Toshiba Satellite A60, who has recently developed a serious problem and is currently blocked in a crash restart cycle. He started with the message "missing or damaged system32\DRIVERS\Ntfs", I've read about this problem on discussion forums, but am still unable to find a solution.

Currently on start error messages appear indicating a driver is missing or damaged, the Toshiba start page has vertical lines of missing data and on a few occasions it will fully start after a short period of time vertical lines appear on the screen and it crashes.

I tried a number of bugs:
    * Re installed windows XP pro (formatting the hard drive and renew the partitions)
    * Update the bios on the site of toshiba in version 1.90 (I think that the update also flashes the bios, but would need this confirmation?)
Swapping the hard drive with a portable, yet no longer starts and HD works fine in another laptop, dismissing the possibility of missing or corrupt files.

I realize that this could be a problem with the RAM and think that the laptop has 512 fixed to the motherboard, accessable without stripping down, but do not know how to determine if the RAM is the problem. While trying these fixes, I get problems with the start of the player and can only get the disk to launch and recognize the CD about 1 to 10 times.

Could someone suggest a remedy or a fix I can try? or suggest how they fixed a similar problem. Thank you very much

You ssounds not very good ;(description
The hardware malfunction appears to be responsible for the vertical lines on the screen
If vertical lines appear also an external display, the jury may be wrong.

You re right, I Googled, and it seems that Sat A60 supports an internal memory.
As far as I know, this memory cannot be removed and only an electronics could solve this internal memory.
But are you sure that the internal memory is impaired. The device supports only 256 MB internal memory and other modules are removable
If you can try to replace

  • Satellite Pro A60 does not start: missing or damaged config.sys

    Hello

I turned off my computer Friday, I went back to his Monday - and it won't start. I thought that the config.sys file is missing or damaged.

I tried all the usual methods - safe mode, last known good setting, OS etc, but none of it works. The computer does not recognize that the recovery CD is in the drive, either.

As I don't have an original installation CD - the computer was shipped with the software already installed - I can't try either.
