LabVIEW communication balance ohaus

Hello

I'm working on labview 7.1 and I can't communicate properly with my balance (ohaus arc120).
Pour-ins one communicate cable rs232 cross I made from a straight cable and a usb/rs232 adapter.

When I recover data from the balance via the balance button print of, everything works, I have the right value.
But when I command with the pc, I did not always signal. When I AI of the United Nations, the value that I receive is shouting. the number of bytes read is not constant and it y to framing errors: missing a portion of the value (ex: 2 of the 3 g 2 instead, 83 g) or tells me totally other chosen (special characters, letters...)

More I don't get any signal if in my VI I do not repeat 7 times education write in a loop. Pour the tare weight is the same, I repeated the statement 5 times.
Pour to succeed to write then read there text session of the Nations United visas pour write, keep my mouth shut, then if I opened a new Lira. If it is not written.

I also tried release directly into rs232. I get good value in appyuant the button print, but I can't balance of promotion of the Commander not.

I checked the settings of transmission, they are in.

Can you help me?

Thank you very much

Kind regards

Try this PIN for RS232 cable:

Here are two cable configurations that will work with 9 pin and 25 PIN serial ports. You will notice that pins 2 and 3 are not crossed in the PIN 9 but are in line with 25. In any case the pins 5 and 6 must be short-circuited to the balance at the end of the cable. Only one type of cable will work with the two balances.

For balances other adventurer pins 5 & 6 must be short-circuited together at the balance and NOT connected to the computer. It is not required in the balances of the adventurer.

  • Cannot read serial communication in OHAUS Ranger 7000

    Hello

I'm reading a balance OHAUS Ranger 7000 data. Communication is via a virtual USB port (drivers came with scale). I have configured the port according to the parameters of their manual series. But for some reason I'm not able to read all the data. The process is either expire or I read 0 bytes data. I have attached the snippet here. I'd appreciate really any suggestions on this.

  • With the help of balance Ohaus Ranger with NI 9870 (cRIO)

    Hello

I use a DAQ system OR cRIO-9074 with a NI 9870 4 ports RS232 Serial Interface Module and am programming with LabView 2012. I am currently looking for a scale with a RS-232 output that I can plug into the NI 9870 to receive and store measurement data. I would go with a balance Ohaus Ranger 7000, model R71MD3 number. However, looking at the list OR the drivers of the instrumentation, they have not anything for this model, if they do not have a number of other (apparently older) Ohaus scales.

Drivers are not needed for this scale? Or is there a RS-232 standard that can be used? I would like to ensure that this configuration will work before you buy the balance.

    Thank you!

Using the 9870 in a cRIO essentially just adds 4 COM ports over the cRIO, which you can interface with NI-VISA help.  Check this KB for more details.  Most of the pilots 'instrument' is just a layer of abstraction or wrapper for the VISA low-level bed and written in courses.  If an instrument driver does not already exist, you can implement a simple one yourself using VISA.

In this case, you can simply get the statement command/set the appliance uses and implement users VISA reads and writes.  As long as the order is not too wide, it is quite simple and fast.

So, this configuration will definitely work, you just take the time to implement orders VISA yourself.

  • Get the massive reading of Balance OHAUS

    Hi all

Using the serial port on the back of a balance OHAUS Ranger, I managed to connect to my PC via the USB connection in series.  Through Hyperterminal, I was able to get a reading of the mass, as shown in the balance on my computer screen.  However, the problem came when I tried to implement a mass reading in LabVIEW (8.6).  Attached is a picture of what looks like my code... It is very short, because it's just a test program.

Although I get something on the buffer, it seems it's just unreadable characters refreshing with my set the timer.  I put baud rate, parity, and stop about how it is put on the balance.  Could someone throw me some tips?  I'm pretty new to LabVIEW, so chances are, I'm certainly something to spoil!

    Thank you

    Hello

Can someone tell me how much space Labview Communication Design Suite (trial version) requires for installation and for how long can I use evaluation version of Labview Communication Design Suite.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Joseph,.

The required disk space are in the readme file. These requirements will not change if you are just evaluating the software. The evaluation standard for all software period of NOR is 7 days, but can be extended for another 45 days as described by this KB.

  • LabVIEW Communications System Design Suite with 10 64-bit Windows

I would like to know is possible to run LabVIEW Communications System Design Suite on Windows 64-bit 10. According to the Web site of NOR, he says that he only supports 64-bit Windows 7. So is it possible to run it on Windows 64-bit 10.

    Please guide.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi josephkirmani,

Currently LabVIEW Communications System Design Suite is not supported on Windows 10-64 bit. You may be able to make it work on your machine, but unfortunately it is not officially supported outside of Windows 7-64 bit.

  • use IMAQdx functions in Labview Communications System Design Suite

    Hello

I would like to read an image and use the bytes obtained to perform certain functions. Currently, the system has Labview Communications System Design Suite (2014 SP1)

and vision acquisition software installed. I don't know how to use IMAQdx features in labview.  Can anyone help?

    Thank you!

I do not work with the Design Suite of Labview Communications System.

In LAbVIEW, however, when after you install LabVIEW first, then the Vision Acquisition, you can use the example Finder locate IMAQ or IMAQdx for LabVIEW examples: in LabVIEW, select help > find examples. This will open the Finder of the example. On the "Search" page, type the keyword "IMAQ" or "IMAQdx" (depending on your device) and look at the examples that come with the Acquisition of the Vision for LabVIEW.

I tried to follow this tutorial with the USRP 2932, coming soon, but I found out later that I have seem to have none of the LabVIEW Communications. No not those who prevent me from using the USRP radio? If not, then is there any restrictions on what I can do with the radio without communication?

    Hi BreadLB,

The link to the tutorial you posted is based on LabVIEW Communications System Design Suite, a new software environment designed to accelerate the prototyping of the algorithm and stable air.  It is a completely separate and independent of LabVIEW environment.  See my post here for more details.  You can also download a free 30 day trial copy here.  Your hardware is supported with LabVIEW and LabVIEW Communications.

The 2932 NOR is a network based USRP, and there a small on-board FPGA.  For this reason, the FPGA on that specific product is not a target of LabVIEW FPGA.  The NI 294 x / 5 x family has a large Kintex 7 FPGA and can be programmed using LabVIEW FPGA and LabVIEW Communications, as in the tutorial you posted.  The 2932 OR can be used with your host PC and LabVIEW for a variety of applications.  Unfortunately the tutorial that you have linked to your post requires the NI 294 x / 5 x hardware and Communications of LabVIEW.  If you have questions about a specific application for your 2932, please post more details and we would be happy to help you.

  • .vi files access using Labview Communication Suite

I can't access files labview on Comm Design?

  • Problem with Labview communication with Arduino Uno

    Hello

I tried to run a simple program in labview through my Arduino Uno R3 all morning and keep running into the same problem: no response from my Board of Directors. I'll catch you up on what I've done so far:

-flashed LIFA Base to my Arduino
-Downloaded the driver update of VISA

written-a the block diagram (I hope) for a led on off function

When I run the program in labview, the RX flashing intermittent, continue for 30 seconds before stopping. The led on pin 13 is not turned off as it should, and I have no control over the power function light. I also tried a program of control of servo with no response and the same flash of RX. Never the TX flashes.

I am quite stuck, so any help is greatly appreciated. Also I'm not a comp sci guy, I'm just an engineer in mechanics with a half of C++ so keep pg when it comes to the language of the computer.

I've attached a picture of my diagram of LED, see if you can spot a problem.

    Thanks in advance!

SOLVED: Reset the Arduino card after that labview had sent his orders (while the RX light was still flashing). Works like a charm.

  • Convert file communication labview vi file

How convert on design communication Labview in Labview .vi file and vice versa?

    Hello Joseph,.

    Thanks for joining the community!

There is a Code Conversion utility that converts the screws in this.

    http://www.NI.com/download/code-conversion-utility-for-LabVIEW-communications-1.0/5093/en/

This is not a conversion opporuntiy. We recommend that you test your code after conversion to confirm its operation. This is because currently LabVIEW Communications support all LabVIEW features, such as event Structures.

Unfortunately, there is no method to convert this screw is because the LabVIEW Communications has a different set of functions that are not supported in LabVIEW, such as the diagram of multiple rates.
