  Have you installed the driver from LabVIEW or copied directly from inst.lib?

  The first is easier, and you don't have to restart LV more...

  Error in a not filled gpib address points. I have not checked if this driver has a resource name visa or a string of gpib address old but in the first case, try the little triangle on the right at the slect address instead of by hand.

I chose SMU 1-3.  I'm changing the sample program that come with the 4156C under labview driver installation. The problem is that when I use the Sub - VI Channe configure from 4156 Panel to change the configuration of SMU3 and SMU4, there is a message of error-1074000000. I choose simply SMU1 or SMU2 for the same operation, all right. What I did wrong, or there might be a few bugs? Thank you!

  BTW, when I was looking for drivers for this equipment, I found 3 possible pilots with the keyword 'Agilent Technologies 4156C' and 'HP 4156C '. Are there different between these 3 drivers?

  Hello Brownheart,

  Drivers for the instruments aren't supposed to cover all applications use of instruments, only for the most common uses. No matter if multitone is a common use for this instrument, a brief review of the functions available in the driver does not have this feature.

  What you have to do is to create your own config VI using the information of the use of the programming unit. Is not ideal, but at least the driver NOR provided gives you a starting point for adding this feature.

  The Instrument Driver Network has all the drivers for the instruments. There is no driver specific to this model, but there is one for the 6310 B. Maybe this can work for you.   The only site or you redirect to the Agilent web site that brings you here. Unless perhaps you made a block, there is no mistake in the URL.

  "seems to have problems" is not a good description of the problems you encounter. You must provide details, such as error codes, etc. Because the driver is probably not a native LabVIEW driver, you may need to install the IVI Compliance Package.
