LabView RT versionconflict between the host and target

Hello everyone,

for my diploma, I work with a compact system in rio (cRIO-9074) with two I/O-modules. After some research, I created a small project which includes an fpga - and a host vi. I wanted to test my project, so I've compiled the fpga vi and you want to run the host-vi. But then I got an error that said that the versions of the software LabView real-time between the host PC and target (is the cRIO-controller meant?) are different.

As a solution, I was told to check versions and reinstall the software Real Time using MAX. Now my problem is that I don't know where I can check the version and/or how I can solve the problem to get the project running.

I added the errorwindow (in German) as an attachment.

I hope you can help me.

Better subject.

MAX is measurement and Automation explore National Instruments.  Open, then expand "remote systems".  You should see your cRIO system.  Expand and you will see 'software' in the list.  Right-click on it and choose to install the software.  That will open a window that will allow you to select what software and what version to install on the cRIO.  Install the version of LabVIEW that matches the one that you use for development.

where does say desktops are hosts?  A host is usually referring to an ESXi server.  A virtual machine is just the guest OS running on the host computer.  A pool is a group of VMs that can extend over several hosts.

    VMware player

My virtual machine is filled to the physical network adapter and use the static IP address.

    Brad

Setting of the virtual machine: filled

Change that to each host only (what Continuum called VMnet1) or NAT (VMnet8).  Both use a separate virtual NETWORK card to connect the physical computer virtual host, independent of any NETWORK adapter on the host.

... Since the machine host (win7) could not get IP, ping fail to VM (192.168.1.5)...

Because the connection between the guest and the host is through a separate NETWORK card, you must use the 'other' IP address.  Access a prompt on the host computer and type IPCONFIG to view the IP address of VMnet1 and VMnet8 NIC.  Then use this IP address instead of 192.168.1.5.

And when you have changed the network management modes (i.e. of bridged to host-only), Windows does not automatically renew its IP address.  The virtual NETWORK card uses a different subnet if you need to renew your DHCP lease or change your static IP address to work with the new subnet.

  • Disable communication between the host and the virtual machine

is there a way to disable communication between the host and the virtual machines? I just need a virtual network that is isolated from my network complete and host also.

    Thank you.

The GUI Server2 is not to choose the other unused vmnets.  Then edit your file VMX use a different vmnet of 0, 1 or 8.  (which are bridged, host-only and NAT)

Thus, for example, if your VMX has a line that says:

    Ethernet0.VNET = "VMNet0.

    change to:

    Ethernet0.VNET = "VMNet2.

(This assumes that you have not used the network Editor to fill the vmnet2 either).

  • How to share an IP address between the host and the VM?

I'm a newbie on VMWare, and I hope that this question has a simple answer... I have a physical machine, I have turned into a VM today and am now running as VM on Workstation 6.5. This physical machine had a static IP address which must remain public, but I can't get a second IP address on the same subnet of the host. How can I get static IP even stay on the virtual machine without attributing an IP address of NIC1 host?

Or is it possible to assign static IP address to the host NIC1 use somehow fill? That seems still, however, require an IP address on the host and the guest of virtual computer.

I also looked in NAT, but I do not know how to assign the NAT specifically to NIC1 on the host. I have NIC2 and NIC3 with different IPs on different subnets.

    Thanks in advance.

    drmuzik wrote:

So with the bridge, the NIC host does not have an IP address?

Well the exact answer depends on those needs specific and explicit, but assuming that the physical machine will be connected directly to the Internet and the virtual machine uses a static public IP address then the physical machine may not have a public IP address if the only one you have is assigned to the virtual machine.  This is why I said delete everything except Protocolto Bridged from VMware on the physical target network adapter.

Yet once if you had included the host and Guest OS operating system information it helps us to be more specific with answers to questions and given that you do not I will generalize and do not take the time to explain all the scenarios possible use cases.  In a case like this one containing explicit and specific local network topology details and that it connects to the Internet may also be useful to provide more explicit and specific answers.

In addition if you have not already read chapters 14 & 15, covering networking, workstation users manual you should as it will help provide toys better understand virtual network infrastructure.

Yes you can - create a virtual with a vmkernel port and a port of the VM of the group as long as they are on the same segment that traffic will not leave the ESX host

  • VMPlayer newbie - switch back and forth between the host and the guest operating system

I am newbie to VMPlayer. I just installed VMPlayer 3.0.0 build-203739 on Red Hat Linux 5 (host). Then I created a VM comments Kubuntu (8.10). So far so good. In the VMPlayer window, I selected 'play Virtual Machine '. After this, the host operating system controls disappeared and I could see a taskbar on the top of my screen and I could also see Kubuntu startup (in an area of the small window in the center of the screen). The problem I'm running is that I'm not able to navigate outside of this area of the small window. I'm not even able to click/Select the taskbar of VMPlayer top of the screen. The mouse movement is limited to the area of the small window. How to and fro my host and the guest operating system? Is there a key combination? I finally had to stop my VM guest to return to the control of my host system. I guess it's a problem quite newbie that I am running. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello, welcome to the forum

Host Windows to switch between comments and the OS (when you are in the guest operating system), you must use ctrl + alt.

According to this link , it's the same thing in Linux host too.

    >Default VMware Player uses key combination Ctrl + Alt to jump out of the guest. Then CTRLAltdel is accessible via theAltInsert command. If you find this annoying, you can change the jump shortcut to CtrlAltshift by adding the following lines to your ~/.vmware/preferences:

    > pref.hotkey.shift = "true".

    > pref.hotkey.control = "true".

    > pref.hotkey.alt = "true".

After your installation OS in the virtual machine, install "VMware Tools" on it so you will get better performance and some improvements (like moving your mouse out of guest to your host operating system operating system and Vice Versa, or be able to copy beyond host/guest, better resolution on reviews and...)

I hope it helps a bit.

  • How to enable the communication between the host and the virtual from Windows 7 computer

    Host: Mac OS X 10.6

Setting of networking: NAT (also connected to the VPN work)

    VM: Windows 7

I use my mac for my development. I have an application running with the Web Server server. I also use the hosts so that I can map the URLS of different web site with the same ip address.

    For example:

    On my Mac in/etc/hosts

    127.0.0.1 www.testsite1.com www.testsite2.com

On my virtual from Windows machine in the hosts file

    987.78.125.125 www.testsite1.com www.testsite2.com

When I'm at the office and using bridged connections, it works very well. However, I prefer to use NAT all the time.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you!

I actually already answer your question but now I know the details, and by the way you have explained so much better the second time!

When not connected to the VPN on the host computer and the guest knows the IP address of the Web server on the host (an appropriate entry in the guest hosts) then it should work but when connected to the VPN, if you are administrator does its job well, that you should not be able to connect the host to the guest for the reason mentioned previously...  Authenticated/no unapproved system (guest) cannot access an authenticated / trust system (host), while the VPN on the host computer is set up to your corporate network.

& lt; host & gt; is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access.

The network path was not found.

Not sure if the problem is a problem with the settings of Windows network or something related to VMware.

  • Configure the host and the VM on two separate wireless networks

Hello community, I was a browser for a long time, but this will be my first post.

I would like to begin by saying that I have always found the answer I was looking for by browsing these forums and that I browsed discussions thereon and consulted the chapters regarding virtual networks in the manual workstation 7.1, but at this stage were still unable to solve my problem.

    The scenario:

I'm a small business working in a House (upstairs) / hookah lounge (bottom). We recently had a second internet connection (WORK), Internet home of my family (HOME), to provide our customers with a free wi - fi. I would use the connection of WORK (during our hours of downtime) in a Ubuntu VM for folding and seeding of torrents. I want to put this far on a network traffic will not affect the other.

    The network:

SE host: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

(Host) NIC: Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (Mini PCI)

VM: Ubuntu 10.04 on VMWare Workstation 7.0.0 build-203739

    NIC (VM): Alfa awus036h (USB)

    The current configuration:

Network connection is made, the State of replication physical physical network is unchecked.

The Alfa is connected to the virtual machine and is no longer present on the list of the network adapters in Windows.

It seems that I have to manually disable the "auto eth 1" interface or the virtual machine using the internet connection in host rather than the network of your choice that the Alfa connects to in VMWorkstation. The speed of the internet with eth auto 1 is connected is quick and consistent, but using it defeats the purpose. Strangely, when I go to network connections, under the "last use" for "eth 1 auto ' it is said 'never '.

When "eth 1 car" is disconnected, it seems that the virtual machine uses the network wireless connected to the Alfa. But the internet speed is very slow and inconsistent. On downloads, the speed varies considerably; Also, it remains at 0 kb/s for a while before going to 80 KB/s, then works his way down to 0 kb/s again.

    Possible solutions:

    1. it's a driver problem for the Alfa inside the VM environment all this time?

2 just misunderstood how to set up this kind of virtual network?

3 is it possible to get the desired configuration by filling the WORK and VMnet0/1/8?

    * Note: Only VMnet1 and VMnet8 appear on the Windows network connections, however isn't VMnet0 bridged one responsible for networking?

    4. upgrade to the current version of the desktop would be useful?

    5. do this problem originally because of some settings on the router?

    * Note: The AP is close enough to provide a signal strength of 85-90%

Sorry to be so talkative, I just wanted to be as clear as possible because I'm still a beginner to learn more about virtualization.

Thank you in advance, as always, your help is greatly appreciated.

First of all, I must say that when I did this last response, I've been on my Mac and I thought the configuration of a host of Windows XP however outside the nomenclature of the names of the host network settings dialog box the rest stands as it is on a host Windows 7 as described below, including a picture as an attachment.

On a Windows 7 x 64 host with two network adapters, each on a different subnet and VMware Workstation 7.1.3 installed with the editor of virtual computer network configured for VMnet0 and VMnet2 jumpered separately to one of the host of NIC and I have not changed the settings for Windows 7 host NIC-1 and have network/Internet connectivity to the host of this NETWORK adapter as shown in the picture of Google in Internet Explorer on the host computer.  In VMware Workstation 7.1.3 I have a Linux Guest configured to use VMnet2, which is filled in the settings and the Windows 7 host NIC-2 have all with the exception of VMware Bridge Protocol unchecked and have network/Internet connectivity in the guest as indicated by Google in a browser.

From the perspective of connectivity network between the host and the guest by NIC - 2 on the host computer when all with the exception of VMware Bridge Protocol unchecked there is no connectivity between the two on this subnet because there are no protocol at stake to allow the conversation to take place.

So theoretically and in practice what I said previously, but didn't were not expressly with a Windows 7 host in mind, nevertheless what I said is true and accurate, as evidenced by world real test/use by what I said and with the image attached herein.

FWIW Windows 7 has been configured with the default settings and the only changes to the host's network were those made during the installation of VMware Workstation 7.1.3 so with the configuration I discussed with the attached picture, there is no reason why the host and the guest cannot be on different physical networks and each network/Internet connectivity based on the information I have provided and they be isolated from each other by being on separate physical networks.

That said, even if they can be isolated by being on separate physical networks can still can connectivity between the 2 through VMware shared folders it it turned on and of course & slide and other services so if absolute isolation is necessary to the point where it can be, and the guest still operating system run on a Virtual Machine in the host you would need to disable the Backdoor for VMware Tools cannot provide shared folders on VMware, & glide and other services.  So if you need this isolation level let me know and I will provide additional information to complete it.
